  1. Pretty sure EJ Hradek understands less about hockey than I do

  2. Something in my cars suspension is fracked. This is gonna hurt the wallet

  3. Nice to see the Sedins still have it

  4. Manhattan's are one fine drink

  5. I can see Old Grand-Dad 100 proof will be a necessity to deal with the polarity of CDC this season. Good thing it's $16 per 750ml

  6. Canucks were in it for 55 minutes. PP needs work. Also can't wait for Kassian to get back. If nothing else, one of Sestito and Weise will not have to suit up.

  7. I don't disagree about calling the police. Calling for help is necessary, but he can't just call and then wait around for help to arrive either. Really, 50+ outlaws who otherwise seem to have no regard for the law are going just peacefully stand down when they see a few police? Yeah, don't think so. Edit: I realize we've both been thinking hypothetically and I have been making some straw man arguments. For that, I apologize.
  8. Pray, tell what would 2-3 squad cars would be able to do to stop madness such as this?. http://oppositelock....6603736/@orlove Why must you automatically assume that the police would have been of immediate help? Calling 911 isn't a "get out of this crap situation free card." If you have to call 911, you're in over your head. That situation will not resolve itself in the time it takes for help to arrive, you must help yourself as best you can until help does arrive. In this situation, whatever assistance the police could have provided would like have been far too little, far too late. The police respond to bad situations, rarely do they prevent crapy situations like the one we are talking about from happening. One thing I do agree about: locking the doors. How in the hell were the doors not locked already/ why were they not locked when the bikers forced the SUV driver to stop?
  9. If he wasn't fearing for his life, and more importantly his child's life, I fear evolution may have been a grand failure.
  10. This. Also, my point still stands. If you have to call the cops, you're already fracked. In such a situation, the best option is rarely to sit on your hands and wait for the 'good guys' to show up.
  11. The whole event took place over the course of 6 minutes. The average response time for a police unit is on the plus side of 10 minutes. Waiting around would not have ended well.
  12. Bought NHL Gamecenter so I can see ALLL the Canucks games...damn you NHL!

I'm an east coast fan, so televised Canucks games are few and far between

  13. His wife did call police. Had the driver on the SUV waited for the police to save his arse, he would likely be dead or in a coma, and god knows what may have happened to his wife and child. Bottom line: if you need to call the police, you're already fracked so fight like hell to preserve life and limb, don't be a shrinking violet.
  14. Wild Turkey 101. Surprisingly good bourbon for the money. Still can't beat Buffalo Trace, but man this stuff is solid for a $20 bottle

  15. It has been a longggg day. A beer is needed.

Cheers indeed. Some bourbon was also found necessary. It will be doubly necessary after tomorrow's double shift

  16. Frack the bikers, they were the aggressor, the driver of the SUV counterattacked because he had no other options.
  17. Doing the "traditional wisdom" of going light with high reps while cutting is a good way to lose a whole lot of muscle along with the fat. Keep the majority of your training in the 5-8 rep range for the big stuff (bench, squat, deadlift, rows) and you'll do just fine.
  18. You really thought you could tie a new PR after being sick for 4 days? Your recovery ability was hampered by being sick so having a less than great workout is to be expected.
  19. Since '08/09 Alex Burrows has scored 109 5v5 goals. In that same time, Daniel Sedin has only scored 97 5v5 goals. Burrows is an elite 5v5 scorer. Too bad he is garbage on the PP

    1. rampage

      rampage

if you think he's garbage on the PP because of the number of goals he's scored on the PP you must have forgot that AV NEVER used him on the PP. He finally used him on the PP a little bit last year but before that he didn't even put him out there for them.

    2. Brad Marchand

      Brad Marchand

What do you expect when Burrows has averaged more than 2 minutes of powerplay TOI/game just twice in his career?

In the year he scored 35 goals, he averaged 1:25 per game.

  23. Looks like Bo is headed back to London: Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie2m No Bo Horvat on ice for VAN practice. Expectation is he is being returned to LDN in the OHL. Collapse Reply Retweet Favorite More
  24. This isn't really the right way to fix your issue though. Do your back work (rows, etc) with double the volume of what you do for your chest work and the issue will balance itself out over time.
  25. I've noticed the same thing. It is partly a coordination issue in that you are out of practice when you don't do a movement for months, but also because single leg work doesn't do frack all for improving squat strength. The biggest thing I have learned this past year: if you want (insert barbell lift) to go up, you have to do (insert same barbell lift). In other words, you build your squat by squatting. Same goes for benching and deadlifting.
