  1. Didn't do enough back work (lat pulldowns, rows) to keep the shoulder in correct anatomical position. The pecs pulled the shoulder forward because the antagonistic muscles (rhomboids, lats, traps, rear delts) weren't strong enough to balance out the strength of the pecs.
  2. 70's Big posted this on FB. Not going to lie, I teared up a bit as I know what it's like to lose my father at a young age.
  3. Goals are listed in order of importance: (1) Squat 405x1. As it stands, I'm probably 8-12 weeks away from this depending on if I need to take a deload AND reset my weights, or if a simple reset of my volume day weights to ~85% of my intensity day weights will be sufficient to allow me to keep chugging along with increasing my 5RM squat (currently at 320). (2) get to 205lb bodyweight to help facilitate goal #1. (3) successfully cut to less than 10% bodyfat without doing hours of cardio or cutting carbs completely out. I know this is possible and realistically, I won't get started on a cut until March because I want to get to "not fracking around" levels of squat strength, something that is hard to do while eating at a deficit.
  4. I thought Gaunce should have gotten a look. He was a little slow in reading plays in the offensive zone, and as a result was slightly out of position, but otherwise looked fine. He needs to work on moving his feet in the offensive zone this year in junior and his supposed "lack of speed" and "poor skating" will disappear.
  5. Tanev must have had a hell of a summer in the gym. He looks and plays much stronger and bigger than he did last year. His slapper looks good too. He may be our breakout player this year

He and Corrado looked rock solid.

The hair and beard help make him look more rugged too... seems to be the trend for a lot of young players. ;-)

  6. It is going to be a longggg season if the Canucks are a below average faceoff team

Isn't David Steckle available? He's money on face offs.

As far as I know, Steckle is available...and Kes has been garbage on faceoffs this year

      Is Yanic Perreault available?

  7. I'm not worried about tonight. It's going to take a bit for the new "system" to become second nature. Once it does, look out because this team will go on a tear.

  8. Solid game by Guance tonight. Didn't look out of place at all and did a TON of little things right. His passes to set up zone exits/entries are something I notice and he's very good at them.
  9. Sedins look really good tonight

  10. Straight Kentucky Bourbon is delicious

      Bourbon is soooo delicious :D

  11. Bleh, I do not like scotch. The scent and taste remind me too much of Jose Quervo, which gives the shakes just at the thought of ingesting it

Henrik, you drinking blends or single malts? Two completely different experiences.

      Scotch is a mans drink

  12. Amen. Green Bay, Denver, and New England are examples of how an up tempo offense should be run in the NFL. You go up tempo when you realize there is a personnel mismatch you want to exploit, but you do not go up tempo for the sake of being up tempo.
  13. Andy Reid is to Philly what AV is to Vancouver: the best coach in franchise history who overstayed his welcome by 1-2 years
  14. Absolutely clutch drive here by Alex Smith and the Chief.
  15. This "blur offense" nonsense is just that, nonsense. You can't run a whole bunch of plays really quickly when your offense is behind the chains and can't convert third downs.
  16. Maurice Clarett tweeting at the Browns for a workout...shhh, don't be so thirsty

  17. NHLN is replaying Game 6 of this years Stanley Cup...damn, what a collapse by the Bruins

Yep. I hate both teams, but the hate from the Blackhawks is because they have mostly had the Canucks number in the postseason...Boston I hate because of how they play and how they get away with post-whistle shenanigans

  18. Gaunce playing much better tonight. Really would like to see him get 9 games if he doesn't stay up all season. I think he could be useful in the bottom 6. He'd certainly be a better 4th liner than Sestito

  19. I'm split on whether Gaunce should make the team and learn by getting the "sink or swim" treatment against the big boys or if he should go back to junior. Going back to junior could be great for Guance. He could score 90+ points and dominate...or he could be a PPG player again and only have marginal development because the level of competition does not force him to get better. Gaunce's biggest issue seems to be reading the play fast enough and keeping his feet moving, and I'm not sold that going back to junior and playing the game at junior level speed will help him with learning to read plays faster which seems to be part of his issue with why he is sometimes behind the play. I feel like Gaunce's game would benefit more from getting 12-14 minutes a night against soft competition in the NHL than playing 25 minutes in the OHL against top line competition which is still easier competition than "soft" minutes in the NHL.
  20. I thought he didn't look out of place last night. He has underrated vision as evidenced by some nice breakout passes and the near miss on the pass to Hamil on the 3 on 2. As for skating, he didn't seem to be chasing the play at all and he was able to keep up. He may not be a Hansen or Duchene, but he sure as hell isn't slow either.
  21. Schroeder is going to be the 3C and he's going to be an effective player for the Canucks this year. I think he will add some cohesion to the 2nd PP unit which the team hasn't had in forever (minus Coho's stint).
  22. Packers went HAM today. Redskins are absolutely garbage and they racked up a bunch of garbage yards after the game was already out of hand.
  23. That first breath after a swig of whiskey is almost like inhaling on a menthol...love it

what number/team was he on? I'm watching the replay now

  25. FFS, I've watched the game for 5 minutes of game time and seen 3 drops by Jets recievers. Sloppy, sloppy play by both teams.
