  1. Super disappointed with last nights loss..... not only did they let the habs fans have something to cheer about but they let a bunch of french elves out battle them on the ice. Price looked good but so does every other goalie we face when all we can muster is 30 low quality shots per game.... scoring chances are a rare occurrence for our team right now. This team right now is a far cry from the one we saw early in the year.... no puck support, no physicality, no PP, no PK. We get out worked most nights and don't have enough skill to get away with it. I agree with everyone else here saying this dump n chase bs has got to stop. If we don't win the battle for the puck the other team is up the ice in transition for an odd man rush and marky has to bail us out. It's not a sustainable model. They haven't been playing to their potential for a while now and it's on the coaches and leadership group to get the most out of this roster - a serious shake up is needed.
  2. Seriously what is it with our prospects and health/injury issues....
  3. Absolutely. The return has to be worth it otherwise there's no point. We hold the cards here and he should command a more than fair value. You don't just move him so we can be even more terrible and potentially pick higher in the next draft. We all know that is no guarantee.
  4. I'm not sure this is the word i'd use.... we were 29/30 last year with very little, if any, help coming this year. I'd argue we are worse off than last year. I understand your point in icing a competitive team to create a culture of winning but if the opportunity presents itself to move a player (ie Tanev) to bring us pieces to be competitive in the future, it needs to be considered. I'm not saying move Tanev at any cost so we can tank.... just saying if there's a deal there to make us better long term, it should be considered. We will be bad regardless of Tanev being here.
  5. For me its Vilardi, Glass, Mittelstadt, Makar in that order. I see Makar having a similar impact to Shattenkirk - great player who will get his points but not necessarily a guy you build around. Vilardi is a beast and Glass has the work ethic to make him an effective player for a long time. Wouldn't be mad at either.
  6. Boeser seems to have been injured on and off this year.... i'd rather him recover and focus on a big summer of training and come to camp ready to earn a spot.
  7. It's hockey day and i'm a couple beers in already so thought i'd chime in on OJ. Like many others, i wanted Tkachuk at the draft as I thought he was a slam dunk and was exactly what this team lacked and has been lacking for years..... a gritty top 6 fwd who can piss off the other team and fill the net. Although OJ wasn't the guy I would've gone with, there's a lot to like about the kid. I think if you are taking a D high in the draft, they have to think the game well above all else... which is OJ's #1 strength. The offence and physicality can come with maturity but if you don't have that high IQ to start with, you won't know how to use those tools to your best potential. He's a competitor and a proven winner, and with a lot of hard work down the road, there's a great chance for this kid to be our #1 for years. We all see what Tkachuk is doing now and want that instant gratification, but I hope we stay patient with him and allow him to grow into the player he can be.
  8. Love the pushback he showed when Doughty was trying to clear him out of the crease. Dough boy looked pretty surprised when he couldn't move Jake... and Jake even gave him a shot back. Something we are sorely missing around here.
