  1. This is the type of Player I think Petey is. Can he ask for a crazy amount of money and put the team behind the 8 ball? Sure, but would he do that? I don't think so. I don't think the team Low balls him either. They might start out on the low side but that's business. At the end of the day, I see him signing a reasonable offer and he is going to be a very wealthy young man. Much more then he already is.
  2. Oh you're one of those "I need to be right all of the time" fellas. Ok , so McDavid IS the highest paid player, BUT, next year he won't be. Gotcha. Ok , so if I am following you correctly, so, Petey is better then McKinnon and McDavid then? or at least comparable? I just want to make sure I know what you are saying this time,
  3. I am sure we are going to be handsomely remunerated for any trade that involves Petey, make no mistake. But like I said , I don't think Petey is that type of player. He will find a deal that will be reasonable for both sides.
  4. I'm sorry but is what you say fact? because I checked the FACTS and I think McDavid, with a Cap hit of 12.5 Million, IS the highest paid player. ..............but you can speculate all you like.
  5. We are talking about the same player who basically finally just grew into his man body and just starting taking full time duties as a center this year right? Take off your homer glasses there fellas. He is getting there but I am afraid we don't know what the final product is going to be yet.
  6. Yes McDavid is probably the ONLY PLAYER that could COMAND that. Just sayin.
  7. Thanks but still just your opinion. Is Miller getting that RESENTMENT you speak of?
  8. Thank you, I love the guy and if we were not in a Cap world I would say pay him what ever he wants too, but that's just not realistic. Toronto is a good example of this mind set, no thanks.
  9. Oh so your comparable is MCDAVID and to have Petey the highest paid player in the League? Yeah OK ...........Homer.
  10. I think you are mistaking this regime to the last. I believe Petey to have the same drive as Hughes/Miller and they seem to think team first and want to win.
  11. It sure didn't help Bo now did it? He had to go elsewhere to find some fool to take his asking.
  12. He would be pretty useless to us if he cared more about money then winning, just saying.
  13. Its like buying a house, the agent presents the offer to the player and he takes it or leaves it. Pretty simple.
  14. I get that there are a other variables to consider for sure. But there is a difference from getting a fair market contract or getting the "Best" contract available. Bo is a perfect example of that. He went for the "Best" contract available. Some players will leave some money on the table(Miller?) because winning is more important. I don't think anyone would be surprised if he got anywhere between 10-12 per, but its up to the player to decide where that number actually falls. That extra 2 million would go a long way in making a team that is going for a championship to get that much better for a run. So far, many of our players have taken reasonable offers, Demko, Miller and Hughes for e.g.
  15. Oh you mean doing a "Bo move" ? I doubt Petey is that type of player.
  16. LOL! There is only 6 players making 11 million or more in the ENTIRE NHL! Also, it looks like 9 of the 11 players getting 100 points this year made LESS THEN 10 Million according to Cap Friendly. Those other 2 were Karlsson and McDavid.
  17. I fully agree, we are no longer the "pay them what ever they want" team. He will be paid what is fair and nothing more. Miller wanted a fair price, Bo didn't , its a fairly simple concept. I will have no problem letting him go if he wants to "get paid". If he is serious about winning, he will ask for a fair and reasonable offer and nothing more. If he doesn't like it, we will have no problem getting a handsome return for him. TEAM FIRST.
  18. I agree with you I would just like to see what he can do in a long playoff run out of the bubble.
  19. I just find it hard to make excuses at the end of the day. Either you make a difference or you don't. Like I said, I see what a guy can do when the pressure is on. Does he have the ability to go "Beast Mode"? or not, especially if the team makes you one of the highest paid player on the team.
  20. If you come at me and want to discuss civilly I have no problem with that. When the name calling comes out and belittling? I draw the line.
  21. Now now Bob don't get your blood boiling there Champ. You have your opinion and I have mine. If you think we were good in the physicality and effort, game in and game out over the past few years who's the "Dense" one? Cheers my friend.
  22. Is that what he was traded to do? Especially with Barzal out? Your just digging yourself deeper there buddy.
  23. It was a joke, calm down. Yes he was good in the bubble playoffs I am just curious to see what he can do in regular playoffs that goes deep.
