I am glad others are finally seeing it. That refusal to really get creative with lines are very similar. Megna and Chaput were WD's "pets" as was Weber. They played no matter what. The inability to adjust to games is similar as well. Does anyone on the team have the OK to "bang and crash"? Does the same players get 20 minutes a night icetime , even if they are slumping, while others(Hogs) gets demoted? There is "No Marky" to bail him out and I am so glad it has become more obvious to everyone now.

The line ups need stability and throwing a line that has been struggling "defensively" back together again , throwing a "hasbeen", who has no business playing in the NHL and throwing him in the top 6 to boot too? How about throwing our best player lately on the checking line? Green is playing the heck out of those top players and now they are struggling, look at Hughes, give the kid a break. Veteran ledership is on the team for a reason, let them settle things down and help out the young guys. Finally, why is Motte not getting more ice time? Is Green blind?

Check out the plus/minus players on the team, something has to give. Getting goals are pointless if you are letting more goals in then you are scoring. This is the "end of the Sedins career" all over again. We need a complete "200 ft game" from everyone.

If you look at the ice times for our roster, there is a big discrepency between the smaller skilled players and the big heavy players. Green is all "run and gun" and no "bang and crash" at all. Its sad because this team is getting frustrated with the same "losing" formula. Green just seems to be draining any confidence this team had and growing the frustration, exponentially , shift by shift.

Canucks have lost faith in their coach!!! Vegas series big factor

Although I don't entirely agree with the OP , I have not seen this entire team play this bad since the season Torts coached his last season here. The players just stopped playing for him. There is no urgency in most players game and no one seems to be having fun on that bench and I am thinking the locker room is no better. There is something amiss, and its only a matter of time before we find out what it is. The obvious observation of this season is that Green does not seem to know how to right this ship. These players are way better then what they have been showing us lately. -
I really believe this team has the ability to do great things and we have seen glimpses of it here and there , but , both the leadership(guys with letters on their jersies and vets) and the coaching staff have to be able to adapt to the ever changing climate of the game. There needs to be leadership somewhere between the passive Nazzy/Hank approach and the Torts extremism. Yes if your up 4-0 or 5-1 you can relax a bit on your play but if a team is coming at you full bore we need to be able to match it. We seem to be always trying to put the square peg through a round hole until frustration creeps in when we are losing. Like many have already have said, we need to get back to the simpler game with those short passes and dump it in if need be. It really is showing in the lack of leadership in the top 6 because they just seem to get frustrated and nothing happens. You see the bottom guys put in that little extra hustle to retrieve the puck or they lay body checks to separate the puck from thier opponents. That is not happening with the top guys and they are the ones leading in ice time. I still think all the pieces are there, we just need to align them in the correct way for them to succeed.

Is it even possible to "fire the coach" this year?
EdgarM replied to VforVasili's topic in Canucks Talk
I noticed last year that Green was probably over his head coaching an NHL team. He was OK when we didn't have much skill and his style of play was "sufficient". As the team got more talented, his inabilities started to show. Marky made up for his deficiencies, otherwise complaints about him from the fans would have been far worse last year. Now that the team is in a funk, his lack of any kind of adjustment is obvious. His "go to" , as it was last year, is to mix up the lines to see if he could get a different outcome. Thats it. He has no idea how to handle players who are on a hot streak or those that are struggling. He has his "favorites" which breeds animosity among the players and it may explain the teams inability to gel this year. A lot of individual play going on and no cohesiveness. I am wondering why we don't have an "energy line" that can get the team going when we come out flat. How about a shutdown line? His "go to" is play the kids and play them often, period. No strategy, just play them, no matter what. Its maddening to watch as a fan because it is the same old boring strategy that doesn't work. After experiencing a few great coaches over the years on this team, we have struggled with the last 2 who have similar strategies which are not effective. Time for a coach that can take the team to the next step. -
I agree, I rememeber when we were the place goalies came to die but this goes for physical hockey payers as well. This really puts us at a disadvantage because we have no answer to the big heavy teams that out work and out muscle us. This is very evident in the playoffs. Thats why I call us "one dimensional" because we do not have the ability to "adapt" during a game. Yes we are a Nazzy, Hank, Bo team through and through. Can we go back to the Linden times?

Sure hoping Green decides to do some coaching today. Bo and Boes are hot right now, please find a way for Boes to get more shots on net. Please don't do what happened when Gaud was hot and you sat him for most of the game when he was on fire. "News Flash" , Petey is in a slump so you need to help him with that. Take some pressure off of him and get him to just play some defensive hockey so he can reset. The same with Hughes, give the kid a break and even out his ice time. Need to utilze your veterans and get the team to slow the pace down when things are getting hectic, you know, maybe even call a time out every once in awhile? This team is full of talent but why are they not playing even close to their capabilities? Somethings got to give if we continue to lose.
