Think of it like, a letter to Santa. Funny you say that, I feel the same way about his insertion in the line up in the first place as well.

A few things for Mr. Green to ponder regarding Lui: 1) -Usually when you do the "little things" right, you usually get rewarded. 245 games later we are still waiting................... 2) -When you are in a slump? You can usually play through it............. Mr. Green its been 4 years!!! 3) - Players anticipate getting rewarded with quality ice time and playing with quality players......Did Lui do something to be rewarded?........No really, did he? 4) Is Lui considered an offensive threat or a veteran with declining abilities who can still play defense? Aren't those players usually played on the fourth line? 5) - How does a player go from the press box to playing regular duties on the 2nd line? Does this make sense? 6) - Mr. Green, this team that you coach, are they not a young core who are developing? Are you "developing" Mr. Ericksson? I am only asking because I am not sure why a player who is not producing is allowed to play with a key core player such as Bo. 7) - Mr. Green, are you not in the business of sports entertainment? Mr. Green, Lui is NOT entertaining! ............At all! As this new season begins, I hope that you realize that pretty much any other player at your disposal can play ahead of Lui(especially in your top 6) and I only ask that you consider displaying a little creative imagination and play any other player beside Bo, thank you.

Somebody better remind Green this is not stats that would generally earn a player a spot in the Top 6 on an NHL team kay? -
Thanks, I am pretty much on the same path. I like the "still learning" part as I believe that is key to understanding and it never ends. Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself today.

I am with you Deb in that I am "Spiritual" and not religious. We don't need a church. or go to church, to believe in a "God". I believe it is a personal journey and that we are all spiritual beings. With that thought, I have also learned that we are brought to this earth to "Teach" something and when we have done that, we go back to the spritual world. This makes sense when you think of why people sometimes need to go through hardships while they are alive. "Nature' or "Mother Earth" is very sacred and many of us feel and appreciate that. I found the National Geographic program, "The Story of God" very educational and puts a lot of things in perspective. I highly recommended watching for those wishing to expand their knowledge on world religions, a real eye opener.

I dont think Virtanen has the IQ to become a top 6 forward.
EdgarM replied to apollo18's topic in Canucks Talk
Yep, definitely a "Low IQ" player, I don't know how he even made it to the NHL. I am sure glad the Coach played LE in the top 6 as opposed to this guy, what a Bum!!!! What is he like 24? He's done!!!! -

Never did I think of Bert having a "Rage" side of him and nor did I think it played an important part of the success of the "West Coast Express". Bert's soft hands and his ability to make great plays is what I remember of him. Yes he got into scraps but Bert did not do the team any good sitting in the penalty box. The incident with Moore compounded over several games and should have been dealt with right after Nazzy was elbowed in the head. The whole team was "raging" over that incident and the refs compounded the issue by not calling anything and why did the Colorado coach even put him(Moore) in the game knowing there was unfinished business between him and the Canucks? Nine times out of ten when a hockey player gives another player a shot in the head with a "gloved" hand, the player turns around and confronts his aggressor. It was a freak accident and that is that, its not like Bert two handed him with his stick to the head or anything like that. Bert was never the same player after that incident, and what he had to go through, I don't think it had anything to do with how much he weighed. As far as that study goes, it groups all players together and gives an "Average", I am pretty sure a "Chara" type player is going to have a way different career curve then a "Henrik Sedin". Players have many attributes which can continue to be an asset or others that diminish. No two players are the same in this respect so I think its unfair to try to group them all into one nice little package. -

Thats what you take from Bert's career? And it was Kessler who went "Beast Mode" not Bert. -

Jake's numbers at 24 years old 2019–20 Vancouver Canucks NHL 69 18 18 36 41 Bertuzzi's numbers at the same age 1998–99 Vancouver Canucks NHL 32 8 8 16 44 I think he's doing OK. -

No I never seen this before very cool video. What a concept hey? Having a player who can hit, score and skates like the best of them. I guarantee we have never had a player with these attributes on this team before, or at least since I started watching them in the 80's. -

I agree, but what I also notice is that because he gets moved around so much(line to line) he has to think about who he is playing with(no chemistry) and I also see him thinking of playing strickly defensively when playing in the bottom six. Thats why I say it would be nice if he could just play his game and be allowed to hit or play offensively when he wanted to without thinking about other things. Anyway, thats what I see , but who knows what goes on between him and the coach. -

I think many on here forget that.......Hockey is supposed to be entertaining. Rock em' sock em' video's were popular for a reason. Some are OK with watching LE play "defensively" but I am all about the exciting plays as well. There are very few players on this team that can hit like Jake where the player being hit "feels it"(No, Stecher or Boeser hitting a guy doesn't count). I feel Jake is similar to Bertuzzi as they don't always put in 100% all of the time. I remember watching Bert when he was ,for example, supposed to back check or get back into the D zone and he was almost never the first guy back. I really think that if he is given room to grow, we will see a different player then what we are seeing now. He is worrying about making mistakes, on the ice, which is stunting his growth IMHO. I think Gaudette is another player who plays like he is afraid to make a mistake as well. -

Apparently Dazzle believes he is worth more then Motte who makes 1.2 Million. He is one of the last "Softies" on this team which I hope the Coach doesn't think he is useful for anything this team is trying to achieve. The softies over the years have achieved nothing in the post season for decades for this franchise, time for a change. Thankfully JB knows that, the Coach????????? -

Motte got 1.2 Million you really think he would get the same or more then him? I highly doubt it. -

Your arguments had nothing but, for a few games, statiscally, Bo and Pearson produced more offense with Anchor Boy on their line. Wow! Very inciteful. Also, LE may or may not be an NHL player. Finally, that Jake has statiscally shown he can produce more offensively then LE , but its really about his lack of effort and conditioning and he has to earn his way into the top 6 like LE has. Good job you definitely are a Big Kid. Way to go! -

Especially during the flat cap era, he is not useful to anybody. The best thing we can do at this point is pay him and make him sit in the pressbox ,where he deserves, so this team can continue to develope into something special. -

Oh but I thought nothing is "given". You keep saying the same thing, Jake has to earn his way yet LE is "GIVEN" a position when he has no business being in the NHL. Your words not mine. -

Wow! I don't get it? I never seen in any of your argument how you convinced me that LE deserved to be in the top 6 other then he is some player's "Lucky Charm". He was "given" that position where he was benched before he got there and after as well. A player who has "earned" that position does not get sent to the press box like that. So that throws your theory right out the window. -

I guess it really boils down to what we all see as a "decent trial". I am hoping to see Jake or Gaud given a chance in that position and the LE "experiment" or whatever you want to call it better be over. -

Again, your still talking about a small sample size and we all know that stats alone can be swayed anyway we like, common sense. Or is it? So if you are right and LE was a better choice, why was he benched for the rest of the playoffs then? Was the coach trying to make the team weaker on purpose? Please explain, thanks. -
