Arguing about his relevance on the PK is just as bad as trying to justify the reasoning for him being in the top 6. If TG is going to put him in again for a regular player , well I guess he sees something in him the rest of us don't. He needs to realize, just like the Sedins did, that his time has come and gone, period. He has been given more then ample time to resurrect his career, not going to happen.

I am pretty confident in saying that the bulk of our salaries is going to be eaten up by our young talented stars for at least the next 7-8 years. So how many 1st rounders might we draft in that time and have to give away at a discount because we cannot afford to keep them. Probably the only thing on my wish list is a Meyers replacement in the next few years. We are good with our goalies, centers, PMD and top 6. This team is comprised of a great balance of the skills needed to win in the playoffs, why would we weaken that in order to keep our lottery picks that we might not be able to afford to keep anyway. We just have to look at Toronto and Edmonton to see what happens when you get a little too greedy with your top picks and what it does to the rest of your roster. LE is not helping this team in the playoffs and that 6 million can go along way in solidifying and keeping what we already have.

This reminds me of how the Twins were dealt with in their latter years. Even though their game had diminished to where their defensive deficiencies were being blatantly exposed, people were saying well they can still do this and they can still do that. Lui is in the same boat. He wasn't paid 6 million dollars a year to play "defense", he was paid to play beside the Twins on the top line. The ONLY reason he is being played is because of his salary(he was sitting most of the time in the press box during the regular season too). Obviously Toffoli is an easy replacement but in the playoffs I would prefer to see a big body "banging and crashing" filling a roster spot then a "defensive" player who doesn't bring much else then that. Or like others said, one of our minor leaguers getting a taste of the playoffs. LE is irrelevant at this point and how he made it in the top 6 in the playoffs, and his zero points, is beyond me.

The young guys as well as Marky looked nervous last game and a bit tired. I am thinking they are going to be back to business today and hopefully can be more confident and bring some more energy. Hopefully the vets can give them some advice. Vegas was ready for us and I hope TG knows a counter attack this time around. We are really missing the big bodies(Toffoli,Meyers) and it is making it more difficult to compete with Vegas. LE's "Defense" just isn't enough for this round. This game will be much closer then the last.

We have not had our star players take this extra attention to detail(compete game)in a very long time. Unfortunately some of our stars in the past thought it was somebody else's job to play defense. This is one of the reasons this version of the team will go farther in the playoffs. This goes for our other star players as well. Hughes is just on a whole new level and he is still just a rookie. We are now getting players who are coming with "Complete" games in their repetoire. Yes we are Lucky.

Those "dark years" were considered as early as the beginning of this season! Guys on here were still saying we needed to tank. We never tanked.........ever. This group has played hard , there is no "give up" with this group. The only thing we need is for these guys to mature because you know they are only going to get better. Petterson drafted #5 Hughes #7 Boeser #23 Virtanen #6 Horvat #9 Gaudette #149 About when did we intentionally tank? Now if we are talking tank maybe we should be looking at all of Edmonton's #1 draft picks over the years.

We are back to the "Underdog" of the playoffs similar to 94'. Not expected to win but surprising everyone as they went along. I remember being on the edge of my seat for two months straight back then. These playoffs feel exactly like that and its great. Very different from 2011 when we were expected to win and we barely made it out of the first round. I knew we had something special when I noticed these guys just didn't roll over and take s$% like the past. Very resilient. I was arguing when others were saying that the team is not ready and we need to be like Toronto or Edmonton before we can even think of contending or even make it to the playoffs. Many underestimated "character" over "pure talent". This is the difference between a "Churla Elbow" from a "Daniel rabbit punch".

Really? How did his starting line up do? You know, when we were down 3-1? He finally gives in and puts Jake back up(in the top 6)in the 2nd and instant production. Jake assists on Millers goal and then he ties the game with his own goal. Did you see Greens face when Jake scored? It wasn't elation. Then, in the third, he goes back to his old lines(Miller,Petey,Boeser) and relegates Jake back to the 4th line. We again go back on our heels and struggle to keep the puck out of our own zone. Again LE moves back up to the top 6. What !? Gaudette looked great as a winger, why did it take him so long to figure that out? He tried the young center to run a line earlier and he didn't do very well. It doesn't take a genius to realize he does not have enough experience to be put in that role yet but he tried it anyway. Pearson and Boes are struggling right now and he did move them in the second and we instantly looked better, but why put them back in their original lines in the third? Green seems very pig headed to me and its obvious this is why Jake is being treated much different then the rest of the players. What happened to rewarding good play? Jake gets a goal and an assist and gets relegated to the 4th line again? LE and Pearson get promoted back to the top 6 again? He did the same thing to Jake in the regular season where Jake was scoring at point per game pace. Its just like when he refused to put Hughes on the #1 PP. He held off until he had no choice but to switch Hughes and Edler. Jake has proven that he can produce when inserted in the top 6 yet Green repeatedly "Punishes" him for some unknown reason or because he is "out of shape"? Give me a break. That win last last night was purely because of the character make up of this team, Did you see Markstrom literally "Dive" to make that save? I am not giving Green any props for that. This "TEAM" is where they are right now because of themselves and props should be going to GM Jim Benning for assembling such a great group of guys.
