  2. No not Gronk. He's still inked for 3-4 more years. Gotta pay Collins/Hightower/Butler. Big3 for us. Why Jones was traded...something had to give.
  3. Let's get this party started early. Better cash a run in here at the very least.
  4. Lol. Just like the majority of the fans in the league I see. Don't know why this misconception is out there. Maybe cause he's not a household name / as sexy as a Sherman or Peterson or Revis? iunno, but I shake my head every time at this....Butler is doing everything+more than what Revis did for us. Has truly emerged as bonified #1 CB. He's not "overrated" nor "underrated" imho, he's just 'rated'. Top5-10 CB in the league. Same age as Peterson, relatively young at 26, and best years are still ahead of him. And if I'm being honest, he's only overrated for people like you who only view him as the Butler who got the SB clinching INT. Seems that's all you/they know about him and haven't really seen him since and just judge him as overrated off that. That's not his fault hahaha. ...vast majority of the time he won't have a game where he allows over 100 yards and on average allows ~45 yards give or take. That one game versus Pittsburgh last year is a bit deceiving and the only game he allowed over 100. Most those yards were just screens to Brown and garbage time yards/TD. He was also the only one last year to completely shut down OBJ. The 1TD was McCourghty's fault too. Butler had short coverage that play and let OBJ pass him knowing Devin was double covering the deep ball. He messed up his assignment and Butler got faulted for it - wrongfully. That same game, he also swatted a sure TD out of OBJ'a hands in the end zone. He went up, caught it and everything; going down tho, Butler maneuvered and positioned himself to break it up even when the balls was firmly in Beckham's hands. ...Butler is just an all around sound defender. Great athleticism, reading of the game, physicality, instincts, and anticipation which usually messes up whoever lines up opposite of him...not a coincidence he was named a pro bowler. Fierce competitor who doesn't shy away from anything. One thing I love about him - some people back down when given a tough assignment, he seems to elevate his game those moments. Heck of a scrappy player. & FWIW, he hasn't allowed a TD this season. Hope that answers your question
  5. @ScottOake: Pleased that After Hrs returns in its previous form tomorrow nt. Guests are Manny Malhotra and Brandon Sutter. Questions? #AfterHours

  6. You guys will be in tough with Eifert out. He would've complicated things a lot for us. Without him, BB will do what he's always done - take away the biggest threat (Green) and force Dalton to throw. Butler will probably be shadowing Green all game long and McCourty will be safety help up top. Double coverage all game. Bengals run game has been pretty ineffective so not really concerned about that. If they can't get the run game going, pressure will be on Dalton to throw their way to a win and I just can't see that happening with Green being wiped out. ...I will say this - would be very impressed if Cinci somehow finds a way to come out with the W. Would be genuinely shocked as this is a game for the Pats to win.
  7. Regarding this series, Indians aren't the sexiest of teams but the Jays can't take them lightly and any game off. They are the Royals this post season in terms of playing style. Can beat you in any which way, be it long ball, small ball, defense, base running, etc. They have it all and to top it all off, timely pitching. Great at adjusting to their opponent and finding the best way to neautralize and capitalize....these guys just shut out the Red Sox, the leagues friggen best offense, and made em seem like a minor league club! Gotta be especially careful about their runners on base. Led the AL in stolen bases this season.
  8. Been busy the past couple days but here's a couple photo's from G3 ...amazing atmosphere per usual. A bit underwhelming compared to last year considering what unfolded; takes the cake hands down. Was still great nonetheless. Fans were lineup up outside 2 hours before the opening pitch just to get in. Entire city was buzzing. Got some pretty decent seats - could see everything in the outfield and 3rd base beautifully. My cousin and me flew out. We have extended family/friends in TO. 10 of us in total ended up going to the game. I'd be lying if I said fans weren't a bit disappointed at the lack of retaliation at Odor. But we all knew what was on the line so getting blood wasn't top priority. Winning is/was the best revenge. Odor's HR was a bit nerve racking but the Jays ended up getting the job done. Difference being he homered in a loss...JB homered in an emphatic win which set the tone for the rest of the series. We couldn't stay in TO for longer which kinda sucked. Had to leave Monday so we ended up having thanksgiving brunch and left for the airport after (no dinner ). Night of the sweep, downtown was gone bonkers. I don't think the city slept that night hahaha ...so yea, that was pretty much it and it was an absolute blast! I won't be able to go to any games this series. However if the Jays make the finals (knock on wood), will keep my options open
  9. If it was that easy, everyone could/would do it. Guessing you haven't played much hockey. Those simple/easy looking plays are the toughest to pull off. Easier said than done.
  10. Great little piece on one of Martin's greatest ability which just so happens to be my favourite: being able to drag outside pitches into strikes. Genius. Doesn't really get the recognition he deserves being overshadowed by the likes of more mainstream guys in the clubhouse but man, he's the brains behind it all.
  11. Kershaw slowly turning the ship around this playoffs so far. Gutsy.
  12. Remember when I said Matthews is a generational player and you said he isn't, even tho he surpassed everything Eichel did at the same age? Remember when I said if Matthews was a few days younger he'd go #2 behind McDavid and just barely, followed by Eichel a notch below and you said Eichel would go 2?

While we're here, let's make fun of his rotting corpse.

  13. Yep. Safe to say the Cubs are reaching the finals...conference is theirs to lose at this point. LA/Nats are no match for them. ...and gotta give credit where credit is due: Kershaw, gutsy performance. 3 days rest, faces his playoff demons and comes out on top. That's the heart of a champion, facing your fears. Can't say the same for some (David overPriced...)
  14. This one's on Bochy if they lose imo. Rapid change of bullpen arms clearly backfired.
  15. Hahahaha laughing @ Cubs fan who was seen leaving in the 8th edit: ninja'd :0 ...SanFran letting this one slip away. Better stop the bleeding because one more run and that could be it.
