  1. This playoffs has the potential to be the best in a long time. All teams are very competitive and either team has just a good chance of moving on then the team across them. Lots of potential to be a great post-season.

  2. I personally prefer "course of action", "procedure", "development", "manner", and "formation". All close to "process" but just a lot fresher. So sick and tired of hearing process...not a bad word, just so sick of it
  3. Linden interview on @GlobalBC, used words "big and powerful" to describe players #Canucks will be looking at. The #bostonmodel #jimbenning....this means we won't draft a tiny kid with our 1st round pick. Dal Colle, Draisaitl, or Virtanen all seem to fit that. Would be pleased with any of those 3.

And I agree you cant go wrong with those 3

    3. Gyllenhaal

Nick Ritchie, I guess we know who were drafting now.

Dal Colle or Draisaitl would be fantastic. They wont drop though. Shouldn't pass on a Nylander, or Ehlers or Kapanen for Ritchie or Virtanen.

  4. On a more serious note though: ^if that's the case, for the draft, don't assume Canucks draft a player under 5'11" with the 1st round pick. Players that are big and powerful that we can possibly get: - Dal Colle (6'2", 175 lbs...will have to add more weight and fill in) - Draisaitl (6'1", 209 lbs...reminds me of Kopitar) - Virtanen (6'1", 210 lbs...BC boy)
  5. He's hit 50 assists before with a old top 6er in Samuelsson before. If you think he can't pass, get passers for him. I'd personally get a playmaker for one wing, Kesler the shooter, and a hybrid passer/shooter on the other aka Kassian.
  6. Sid Is user - nailed it dead on. Just perfectly put. You are absolutely correct and that is exactly how I feel the situation was and is and right now, Kes is here to stay unless a sudden, dramatic turn of events occur overnight.
  7. What are you talking about? Only real wingers he's had are Demitra, Sundin, and Samuelsson. 2/3 of those guys being old and close to washed up and yet he still had career years. You can't demand a player to change his style of play for x players. As a GM, you should realize his weaknesses and strength and work around that. Kes has more than every right to be upset. He hasn't had a proper winger for years now and it's wasting years on his career and the Canucks.
  8. As for Kes, give him his damn winger already!!!! : @
  9. Yep, and Kesler will be another but the Sedins comments will be regarded to the highest. If Kes wants to stay, Sedins and Bieksa want him to stay, and Linden does, he will stay. ...still don't get peoples logic though lol. Kes isn't hiding anything special. He's saying it straight up he wants to stay here AND RETIRE A CANUCK! How that is equal to other situations like St.Louis is a ridiculous comparison.
  10. With Linden at the head operating management, I'm pretty sure he'd elect to keep Kesler in Vancouver. Linden knows Kes is a heart and soul player who gives it his all and it'd suck for a team to lose a player like that especially with him being in that spot before. With Gillis gone who clearly was shopping Kesler even though Kes has stated at the trade deadline and today numerous times he never asked for a trade and loves it here, I'm sure Trev will honour that and most likely keep him here. And with Linden saying season ticket holders can get a full refund if they aren't pleased by July 11, Kesler gone would mean a lot of upset fans. Trev wants this team to compete and keeping Kesler will help out Horvat/Gaunce/Cassels with the NHL transition and Kes can turn it around offensively with a top 6 gifted winger alongside him. Well he already is solid offensively but a legit winger for once would see him hit maximum results + efficiency.
  11. ^well the arguably do have a copyright of that and the best mix of it in the league. Thus why copying them would be a good thing : p
  12. Just hope Aquaman doesn't translate Boston model being just goons and thugs. Have to realize they have tons of skill that match with their toughness that makes them so successful and hard to play against.
  13. espn© replaying 2011 Canucks vs Hawks game 7. Just watching it is a head scratcher. How much we have regressed since then boggles me :/

and Boston is just as good since then.. ugh

    3. Pears

      Pears

And they've had pratically the same roster with a couple changes here and there. Difference? They don't get injured as much as we do, and I'm calling BS on that. Why do our top players get as injured as much as they do whereas their top guys rarely get injured?

    4. Bruce Boudreau

      Bruce Boudreau

^ Classic hammer and nail theory. The more physical team inflicts more damage on the opponent than themselves banging bodies.

  14. Deniro, I know you like being right but just let this one go and pretend it never happened lol. You said "Or Naslund. Both fit that criteria"...that criteria is the quotes I posted and Naslund doesn't fit all of them though he does some. Fair enough though, it can be Naslund like you say but I think it's highly unlikely at least for the GM position.
  15. Here is the interview: If you don't have the time to watch the entire thing, here's a couple key points where he talks about some serious things and gives hints to Benning which it seems like. 1.) 17:07-18:24 of the video. Talks about how important drafting is and how it's his "number one focus" stating that "drafting is the lifeline of an organization". 2.) 21:51-24:21 of the video. Talks about the GM position. The timeline to hire, what he wants, his specific plan he has in mind, being a player he's played with in the past.
  16. No, Naslund is not who he's referring too lol. Like Tas said and Nazzy never played for a small period of time with Linden, he played almost every year with him lol.
  17. Feels like a pre-season game. No Canucks playoff hockey will be boring.
  18. I'm in the same boat as you. This would be different however and has tons of potential to become something special.
  19. ^that mask is soooo dirrttyyyy, woooooh! Miss Lu (still ) but he looks very happy back in Florida and here's to hoping he can compete soon with that young team.
  20. Babcock: had Datsyuk line on the ice with 1:20 left in the game down 1. Pulled him off and puts on Jurco-Sheahan-Tatar and they tie it up. These young guns he says have stolen roster spots from the veterans

I wish we had Detroit's owners. Seems like a great organization.

And I totally did not read Tearloch's comment, lol, oh well.

  21. President - Linden GM - Benning AGM - Gilman Coach - Tortorella / if fired Laviolette ?
  22. Thanks for pointing that out. Fixed it, just got confused and accidentally wrote that.
