I'm absolutely furious:
I only just found out that NHL LIVE will no longer be available in Canada and if I want to watch out-of-town games, I have to use SNNOW Premium.

And for those who don't see what the big deal is:
1) SNNOW is a crappy unstable app that frequently crashes, regardless of what device you use. I've missed several first periods of Canucks games because of a "playback error" and there is nothing on SN's site that tells you want that error code means or what you can do about it. NHL LIVE was always the more stable app.
2) Unlike NHL LIVE, SNNOW will not let users choose which feed to watch, even for all-US games which SN itself doesn't carry
3) SNNOW Premium is more expensive than NHL LIVE (the main reason why Rogers insisted that the league remove it from this market)

First off, a shout-out to @nuckin_futz, @King Heffy and @Rubik for sending me those links--genuinely appreciated. It's not a perfect solution, since I'd have to either watch on my laptop or relay the stream from my computer to my AppleTV, but it's far better than paying Rogers for their crappy app (or paying for a VPN service on top of an NHL LIVE sub).
Second, @Chickenspear and @stawns, I'm using the SNNOW app for Apple stuff (iPad and AppleTV) and while it might work fine for your devices, I had that playback error occur all the way up to the end of the regular season (I cancelled my subscription after that since the playoffs were included in my NHL LIVE subscription). There isn't even a mention of what the error code supplied even means on SNNOW's support pages, nor does Rogers respond if you email them about the issue. This is typically how Rogers handles complaints: they ignore them and I wouldn't be surprised anyone complaining via email gets their address blocked.Given the kind of corporation Rogers is, I have zero doubt that they, not the league, are behind this move. They've essentially been given a Canadian monopoly on NHL coverage, which means they can now charge whatever they want (SNNOW Premium is almost $100 more than NHL LIVE and you can bet they'll charge more after NHL LIVE is gone).
Rogers is despicable.
