  1. I don't think I would take the Yak deal, I've thought of the idea of trading first overall down to try and get a top 5 pick in this draft, plus that teams 2015 pick. I would be very happy with drafting Ekblad if we got 1st overall. We could use a future #1 D.
  2. After a very strong draft in 2013 where Canucks drafted future star players Horvat and Shinkurak in the first round this could be one of GMMG most important drafts, with the possibility of a pick in the 4-10 range as well as another pick in the top 40. MG has to hit his first two pick out of the park. These need to be surefire players who can become canucks top 6 players in the future, or a #1 or #2D. Also Vancouver may have the possibility to gain another pick, in the 25-29 range (NJD get 30th) with a Ryan Kesler trade. Aside from that added pick, Vancouver will need to gain a top prospect as well as a young NHL ready player. Coming out of this draft Canucks could gain: A top 10 pick A late 25-29 pick A top 40 2nd round pick An young NHL ready player A top prospect The 2014 draft has the potential to set this team in the direction of a quick rebuild to a cup contender in 3-5 years or to a long 8 years of rebuild and still no playoffs, aka "The Oilers Way" If the Canucks hit a home run in the 2015 draft as well, a very bright future could be awaiting this team, many years of exciting cup runs, and hopefully Vancouver Canucks first Stanley Cup. Hopefully more than just one.
  3. I really like the Higgins Kesler Jensen line. Give the kid the best shot to succeed, don't worry about his defensive breakdowns let him be an offensive player. Also for PP Higgins Sedin Jensen Kesler Edler
  4. Anyone got good insight of Dal Colle, haven't really seen much of him
  5. So just had some fun crunching numbers, using teams last 10 games to figure out their next 15-20 games (depending on the team) and some coin flipping for if a team wins or losses their "odd game" this is what I came up with 1 Florida 61points 2 buffalo 66points 3 islanders 67points 4 Vancouver 70points 5 Nashville 73points 6 Carolina 75points 7 Edmonton 77points 8 Calgary 79points 9 Ottawa 81points This is over last 10 games, NOT entire season win%
  6. Calgary is 5 wins behind us, with 2 games in hand. We could fall to 5th pick. Or higher with lottery. If canucks for lucky and got 1st overall. Would you trade down for a tip 5 pick still but also that teams 2015 1st round pick?
  7. Well there's our goal for this and next game
  8. I wonder how many people may be asking out this summer
  9. My fear is this core makes playoffs next season and Gillis and aquaman call off a rebuild
  10. I'm in perlini, virtanen, or Bennet camp
  11. No I missed that one. Just took a look This team better not got any better this off season! We need that
  12. I seriously wonder if that kid will be as good as all the hype
  13. Honestly is there a worse team in the NHL? We can't score or defend
  14. This rink has half the fans but is 3 times louder
  15. That was the most exciting part of the game
  16. Good thing aquaman wants kesler for the cup run this year
  17. Thanks for the temp GDT. Surprised that no one made an "Official" one. Guess guys losing hype over games. Honestly I see Canucks lose 2-1 in OT/SO Either way Go Canucks!
  18. Here's an interesting 2d round D pick for Vancouver Joshua Jacobs 6-2 195 Shoots Left USHL Talent Analysis Jacobs has the size and skating ability to be an effective defender with some offensive elements to his game. He can also hit long passes from his own zone and looks to make quick plays in the transition game. His judgement and ambitious nature sometime gets him into trouble but that is something that should improve as he continues to progress. Future Jacobs has the prototypical size and skating and passing skills that scouts look for in a pro defenseman. He is headed to Michigan State in September 2014 to play college hockey and should have plenty of time to iron out the inconsistent parts of his game and become the effective two-way defender that his skill set suggests he can be.
