  1. Well I just think Willander will make the jump before ASP unless rushed. ASP hasn’t looked that great in the SHL and his defending is no where near NHL ready/acceptable. IMO. Willander has a more polished game at this point and he’s going to have a better development path than ASP has imo.
  2. With this in mind the most nhl ready prospect in our draft range imo: 1. Reinbacher 2. Simashev (once KHL contract is done plug n play) 3. Danielson 4. Barlow 5. Willander 2-3 years easy to project all of them in the NHL whereas others are 2-4/5 years I think. and I think Willander will be in the NHL before ASP depending on team that drafts him. But he’s going to get climatized to North American ice fast and could be 1-2 ncaa years and ready for ahl/nhl
  3. I’m curious how much dmen like soucy will cost.
  4. He also said ASP isn’t as good a skater as Reinbacher, unless I misheard him.
  5. I think Moore has a better head on his shoulders than Jake
  6. With bear hurt and OEL bought out def must have some loves cooking and hopefully they are ones we will like.. I’m sure they would have gotten squeezed in any trade being over the cap prior to the buy out too
  7. Ya can’t even be argued. Unless we move garland and soemthing et a piece that surprises us and far exceeds or outperforms their value at time of trade huge L and I try to stay optimistic at times of any movies and I feel sick I was optimistic when this trade happened
  8. I’m gonna say I was pretty scared of seeing OEL on acanucks jersey going forward as an A even.. and his post season interviews didn’t exactly inspire confidence
  9. I am curious if Bears injury had any impact on this decision or in regards to what the plan is for Myers here
  10. I hope we aren’t going to do that. i think Projecting OEL in our line up for his contract was rough. Especially the message it sent to others. It was kinda tough either way. so hope they plan to replace him with cheaper players and not to replace with an overpaid UFA LETS HOPE
  11. I have to agree. Especially when you factor in his motor / work ethic and PK : defensive ability/mind already too. bedsrd is just more physically developed than benson but they sre the exact same size so as benson builds strength in his lower body he will become a better skater as well I could see a world where we take willander over any forward outside of dvorksy / Leonard. but we will see I’m so excited for this draft and how it goes
  12. Benson is the best or 2nd best defensive forward in the first round of the draft. he has High level IQ, and High level playmaking. the best forwards for playmaking or just in passing ability he’s in the top echelon here and could be argued he’s the best puck distributor. so IQ and passing and defensive play are his biggest strengths. not to mention he does do everything else very well. sure he has some plays where he dangles in ways that will be harder at the NHL. But so does every forward in the CHL. Including Bedard and even michkov for that matter. And the best players make defenders looks stupid, they Crete more time and space for themselves and as they develop they learn what works and what they can do at each level they advance too. I think benson has a higher floor than you are giving him credit for. If his offence doesn’t translate he has: - the motor / competitive drive - the IQ - the defensive game where he could be a bottom 6, pker. he just doesn’t have the size / power to make him the prototypical style of bottom 6 forward that is more often viewed as an effective bottom 6er. There are special players sub 6 in this league and Benson could be one of them. I do have my seeds of doubt on benson hitting his ceiling or near as I wish he was an elite skater or a little bigger. but he really does have everything else and some elite differentiating traits that some scouting services don’t recognize as elite but some do and that’s why there’s such disparity in his rankings from 5-17. IF he’s available, and IF we draft him I will be excited because he does have a huge ceiling with a decent B game. Do I think he’s what we need most no, but if he hits, his projected fit is irrelevant. and I do see him fitting on JT millers wing as a duo I could really visualize this being a perfect fit. Especially if Miller needs help with his C duties at times post face off in a Couple years. As benson usually covers the C ice responsibilities down low and I just could see their offensive styles meshing really well together.
  13. Interesting rank on those three right now. Maybe I need to go back and watch it again. I was just so impressed with Eiserman offensively and watching Moore with most of my focus maybe I missed what you saw with Hagens. Lots of runway next year for me to se it though! with Moore i think he just needs a patient path. Since he’s getting a sheltered role now, and next year. He will have lots of time to develop that. And he will need 1-2 years at least after being the number 1 C on a team to really get that experience and improve his IQ and with the right coaching I could see a world he really hits. im just not super confident it will all go that way. And I think for him it will almost benefit him to be drafted outside of the top 10 since that always comes with more patience. Same with Yager I think he’s a prospect that’s really gonna benefit from going later in the draft. Absolute worst case moore is a checking winger that brings a speed element to any line he plays on and would be an annoying forechecker to play against. I’m just not completely sold on his ceiling.
  14. Ya I’ve heard lots of opinions on him and read and seen some clips but I’ve not watched him play any full games. And we don’t have any international peer play for some cross reference. but he’s very interesting! the draft order for the dmen will be very interesting
  15. I know so little but what I do is very interesting. The coaches really trust him in the KHL which is pretty impressive in his own right. And from the clips he skates amazingly well for his size. Will be an interesting prospect to follow on draft day and how his career progresses after
  16. I thought it said max butman lol now that would be a very interesting scenario. would def be crazy to see
  17. I don’t know if he could get: Dvorsky/Danielson/Moore/ASP/Benson/Wood/Willander then with the next pick: Simashev/Honzek i think I’d rather get the two then guaranteeing first pick of a dmen or a dvorksy / Leonard / Michkov
  18. I’d prefer benson + wood personally
  19. He’s also mentally strong. Works the mini doughnuts at the traveling fair and is not fat!? Kids got an iron will
  20. Wed have a dman or two that’s for sure
  21. Both sides have to be willing. It’s more than likely Petey didn’t want to sign that kind of deal you know
  22. Imagine the Canuck nation reaction if he signed big then had that down year / start to year. It is what it is let’s be happy we have a super star. if we sign him this year he could still provide surplus value with cap rising and the fact he could get even better
  23. I couldn't help but lean to it being Eiserman. Whereas I was impressed by Wood much more than Moore with how he played with Macklin if that comparison makes sense?
