  1. I don’t know how to compare his top speed to zegras and Hughes as they aren’t in the same league but I would put him in the same tier. His skating is one of his greatest strengths imo, his speed is very noticeable when you watch him play. It stands out and sticks with you. haha are you referring to a comparison I made of a cross of point and konecny in an earlier post? Or did you think the same on your own? Yea it’s tough to project as Point has had a much more favourable development path, but that’s the potential / ceiling I see with Krebs with intangibles and similarities in style to Konecny. Aha yessss I’m so high on the kid think he’s a superstar just unable to fully showcase his abilities. It really is hard to assess him though ya.
  2. If we pick 9th we will get a good player this draft for sure, and like that history you’ve shown! Filled with quality impact players.
  3. Well I think ur undercutting Krebs skating ability. It’s top notch. Especially since his puck control and stick handling while accelerating are very impressive imo i agree Krebs is a better facilitator/playmaker with his hockey iq and vision. Boldy said something on the radio today, that his ability to read plays is natural to him but he has to thank his linemates who think the game on a similar level and are in the areas he anticipates. krebs does not have that. Krebs linemates do not think the game anywhere near the level he does and people need to understand this. hard to rank the euro dmen for me just haven’t seen them enough so I’ll just trust management and our scouts
  4. If we are picking 12th overall and all the obvious picks are gone and it’s between caufield / kaliyev / Newhook I think that’s a tough decision Newhooks a C but the bchl factor is strong then his poor Canada camp has really stuck with me, but at the same time good players do come out of this league like Makar it’s juat harder to rank them caufield is tiny but doesnt shy away from contact which is scary for a small guy in the NHL kaliyevs an offensive weapon but defensively he’s kinda like goldobin, I see him as a goldobin with finish so you’d put up with defensive lapses cause he scores / generates more then he makes mistakes. He could improve though.
  5. If Krebs was on that team his numbers would be just as ridiculous as all those kids are. He’d fit right in and be one of the top players I’m sure.
  6. Agree on your top 3, think that’s how management would approach a lotto win as well. if we pick 9-12 leaving with one of: krebs/zegras/boldy That would be a pretty fantastic outcome! im high on all three but especially Krebs. Boldy had a good interview today on 650 too, was really honest and sounds like a good kid.
  7. Still shocked how bad he’s been there! He looked so good in Vegas last year didn’t expect a drop off like that
  8. Is this ur thing? Pulling year old quotes? oldnews pulls old news? so I’ll entertain this weird quote pull you have done. did I read every comment that day in the thread nope not at all. my opinion in the moment for that quote was that day I had heard more people thinking it was a steal of a trade for Carolina or an even trade for both over the radio. And the posts I did read were along the same lines if my memory of that day almost a year ago holds up. Must have missed others (clearly like yourself) who shared the same opinion at the time that it was an absolute steal for the flames. And if you read my post right after the one you quoted maybe that would make you feel better or something cause someone quoted me and I responded to them. think it’s a weird quote pull regardless though cause it’s not like I posted now claiming I was the only one who thought the trade was a haul and a half for Calgary.
  9. You just went back and pulled a quote, the pages near my comment I recall reading a majority of people weighing in the opposite, thus my comment. and on the radio at the time as well I remember.
  10. Quinn Hughes univ Michigan replacement He has some big boots to fill there.
  11. 1 - His Skating, its not talked about enough, and his hands don’t drop off when he’s really moving he controls the puck well when moving at full speed 2 - his hockey IQ, think it’s being wasted playing with lesser talents. Not fully showcased. It would be like us icing Chaput and Megna on Peteys wings, they just wouldn’t think the game on the same level and not be in the right places etc. usually in the chl, top prospects play with some decent players or at least relatively good overagers for the league, the gap from Krebs to the rest of his team is huge. And he never throws the team under the bus or complains kids a beauty. i bet he’s going to interview super well at the combine too. - his is game reminds me of A mix of point and konecny
  12. Saw this after I replied sry hes an awesome player man if he was on an average team his numbers would look so much better IMO if he was on a top team with quality linemates he’d be in contention for league leader in pts
  13. I agree if we pick 3 it’s very possible our scouts have a forward there, my personal rankings are byram at 3 and there’s some bias as I’ve seen him play a lot and he fills a big need
  14. Hes def a home run swing! just would hate to be the team that swung and he doesn’t work out too but he could very well be one of the best forwards in the draft down the road for sure
  15. Have you watched him play a single game? Yea or no? It’s simple his team is absolute trash can mcdavid carry the oilers even with draisaitl? No he cannot. no. Fax. Why u ask? cause it’s a team game. 18 year olds rarely lead their whl teams so drammatically especially when this horrendous. They are such a bad team, if it wasn’t for Krebs they’d be the worst team in the WHL as they are currently second from the bottom I believe. Dont sleep on the kid the numbers don’t say it all for him.
  16. I want to see schenn finish the season strong, continue the way he's been playing. Doesn't have to set record setting hit numbers every game. But if he continues to play: Simple hockey (Like he has) Physical Presence Protects our Youngins Calming Presence Crease Clearing Hughes Partner with success Not sure what his analytic numbers are at, but he has passed the eye test with flying colours. I continue to be impressed with him and each game keep asking myself, really? Schenn? How can we not give him a contract? Especially if Hughes likes playing with him. If you were Hughes wouldn't you want to play with a guy who had your back, made simple plays, preferred the puck to be on your stick, and cleared the crease? If he continues to play like this hard not to imagine him suiting up for us at least next season. Edler-Tanev (While he's healthy) Hutton-Stecher Hughes-Schenn Juolevi-Biega Sautner-Chatfield I would be fine running that next year.
  17. Still feel like this was a massive win.. Got a stud top 9 LW that brings physical 2 way play and a cup winning pedigree. And we lose our worst anchor on the back end. Also give us the opportunity to try out Schenn who hey, he's playing exactly how we all wanted gudbranson to play like from day 1! Nice to see a Win on JB trade column!
  18. Well we know we scout Americans well and closely. If he's available at our pick outside the top 3 and we pick or pass on him I will trust in Bracket he's doing a great job, 5 ft 7 is scary, but he does look to be a special talent. I know DeBrincat is a great great great comparable but it is still scary, especially for a team that already has undersized players that can get bullied at times and when playoff hockey rolls around things can get dicey. I am not against picking him at all though, I believe he has the skill to have success similar to Debrincats or to even exceed what he has or will do. Just comes with a higher risk factor of course!
  19. After tonights game just can't help but think of the upcoming draft. Lottery is so soon and as great as the draft is a top 3 pick would just be so marvellous for the squad.. Adding: Hughes: Brother connection, another huge core piece and giving our top 9 big time balance: Petey-Boeser Horvat-Hughes Gaudette-Virtanen And you could mix em around and load up when needed with who's hot etc. Would be fantastic and give us elite C depth. Kakko exact same thing as Hughes just a different dynamic, would add some weight and just like Hughes you could mix em around. And if we pick 3 we get a STUD dman and our future d core built around Hughes and Byram would be fantastic, he feels like a can't miss d prospect. He is so impressive and his game looks very transferable to the NHL. If we do not get that top 3 lotto luck well I hope we win the next lottery. The lottery that are picks 4-15. Trust in Bracket here, my gut tells me Krebs would be the perfect pick in that range as he would be complement Bo Horvat perfectly imo and has huge potential, with leadership qualities and drive that would mesh very well with our core. Petey-Boeser Horvat-Krebs Gaudette-Virtanen Looks like a great young core as well. Very optimistic going into this draft that no matter what we will come out of it as winners though. Top 3 pick would be so sweet though! And after tonight hope everyone forgets the crazy idea we'd trade Quinn Hughes at the draft!
  20. The team will come up with it! What a freaking debut... Brock Petey now Hughes All had remarkable debuts... LETS GO!
  21. Maybe hard on was the wrong wording but I’m pretty sure I explained myself pretty clearly in My follow up post that you quoted. i was, have been and still are a big Kole Lind fan and I think he has the tools/skills/drive to be a top 9 NHL player. But if he doesn’t show progress next year I will be much less optimistic about his potential of becoming that top 6/9 player in the NHL that I and I’m sure management hoped for from him when they selected him at the draft. These are kids sure, but they are professional prospects that have large amounts of pressure placed on them, success is expected. And I hope the best for the kid as a selfish fan. im sure you and everyone else wants the same.
  22. Wow what? Can’t have high expectations for a prospect that’s considered high end in his second year of pro hockey? not saying he’s gotta lead the league in points or even be a PPG to have a successful season but would be nice to see him be a point producer in the top 6 and look like he belongs in the league. If he doesn’t show well next year or some decent progress I’m not gonna have top 6 expectations for him going forward anymore. im not surprised he struggled this year, the aggressive style he played in jr only translates with men if your physically developed and he wasn’t. Hopefully he prepares himself physically and mentally well this summer for next season and takes everything he’s learned this season into it and has a big year next year. Im still expecting this kid to be a player.
  23. Next season is where we truly judge lind and can be hard on him imo
  24. I haven’t watched podkolzin enough to comment on his rank. curious what put Dach over Cozens for you? I’ve flip flopped on them a couple times this season. I’m ending with Cozens before him because of his skating and feel he has elevated his play as the season has gone on. Also would like to know why you have Turcotte so low? I remember back few years you were the biggest ehlers fan on here, thought maybe you’d be higher on caufield! i like where you have krebs too im super high on byram and him.
