google can solve ur question and if he had it online im sure he would have cut an paste it, why not just thank the guy instead of giving him a hard time!! Thanks for posting this, pretty different they have fleury milano karlsson very high surprised with how low leon is, I find it hard to believe someone would take virtanen before leon? But who knows this draft really does seem like it is going to be a wide open gong show,,, With everyones scouting reports being drastically different will be an interesting day

NO matter what we are going to leave the 1st round with an amazing prospect.. Any of those top ten will make me happy! If someone could Pm me the ESPN draft too thatd be coooooooooo And thanks thats awesome! If we pick around ten and ritchis is available i am sure our scouts and gillis will be all over him!

As I agree with most of your post, what makes u certain gillis Would take ehlers and nylander before Perlini? Just curious what you think. Earlier in the season I had Perlini ranked just above Ritchie, but now have to give the edge back to Ritchie, with leading His teams amazing comeback and scoring the series winner, his stock is going no where but up, I could see Burke drafting Ritchie I really could! And picking 6th or 7th would be great, guranteed 1 of reinhart ekblad Bennett Leon dal Colle Ritchie ehlers nylander Perlini One of them will Be ours which is very nice!

Ill hold u to this!

AHAH slightly dangerous but I like it! If we end up picking 10-12 and draft MR McCann though I would not be too disappointed he could be quite a steal. Although Mr Draisaitl or a Mr Dal Colle would bring me immense amounts of excitement every day of summer aha! I really hope we trade Kesler to Pits for Pouliot there first and + And with their pick depending on where they finish I would would really want one of the three ruskies or Roland McKeown! Three Ruskies: Barbashev/Scherbak/Goldobin I think Barbashev and Scherbak have very little KHL factor risk, I think goldobin could have some, for if his play without the puck and def game doesnt improve he could get frustrated than bolt I really like Barbashev and Scherbak though, would love to leave draft day with: Pouliot - From Kesler trade Leon or Michael - Drafted 6th - with a miracle Scherbak - Drafted 25th - Pits pick from kesler trade Lemieux or Cornel - Drafted 36th Would be a great day..you wouldnt even go to work allll summer!

We already do and would aha either way

Such a big difference drafting 5/6 compared to 9/10 Say some Prayers boys, knock on wood, cross ya fingas make 11/11 wishes, find a shooting star make a wish etc etc'!

I agree with all Of yours except I think barbashev has risen quite. A bit in most scouts books as he finished the season very strong, and is playing well In the playoffs too. And agree honka has dropped into second round territory I'm not a big Kapanen fan, and I think a lot of NHL scouts will agree with me, but it will be interesting to see where he gets picked. The rest I agree with, it's interesting how this could really shape the rankings now

Pretty nice GWG!

I can see gillis taking : Perlini/Ritchie/McCann As well, and based off how we are winning games, I see no chance at Dal Colle or Draisaitl, which is too bad I was wishing fo rone of them too. If we are picking after 10th though I would really expect Gillis to take McCann seem to be the mold of player they are wishing to mold the team around. I wouldnt mind Ehlers either, depends when we pick and whos available though, and I really doubt Gillis will draft Virtanen, our scouts do love the OHL right now and I do not blame them, it seem like a stronger league right now, and look how well are players are playing there right now.

Great Post ahaha Made me laugh

Exactly if this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNuWJepCOzs is three games, Nino's should be at least 3 as well in my opinion, because Hertl reached his arm out and pulled his head back at the last second, and Edler was trying to take the body, was very unfortunate timing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pcd7nMoK4sc Look 34 seconds, and if you wanna tell me Burrows Face/Jaw was not the principle point of contact, and this is not the exact definition of a headshot by Shanahan, if you want to tell me that and call me a homer for seeing that, then we will never agree on anything

most of us dooo!!!

Well considering you have left Jensen out of the top 6, and Cole Cassels out of our future, I think that is the most amazing group of prospect forwards we would ever have had. Nylander-Horvat-Kassian Shinkaruk-Cassels-Virtanen Fox-Gaunce-Jensen Top 9 potentially of the future 3 Solid 2 way Centers, RWs interchangeable, Horvat will be our number 1 centre after Hank retires, he could even pass the torch on to him, Nylander would learn how to play better def with Horvat and our coaching staffs, Kassian hopefully would be developed by then and be a top line PWF, Horvats def responsibility will help both wingers greatly, plus he has the top end skill to compliment nylanders off skills. It would be like him replacing Domi, but a much better Domi, I am not a max fan. I think Cassels will be a solid 2C, I think he would play well with Shinkaruk, and Virtanens size would help shinkaruk and he would be able to keep up with their fast pace, in fact they might have trouble keeping up with him. I am expecting Gaunce and Fox to have developed chemistry from Erie, and after Utica, Jensen will add speed to the line, and his dynamic skill set, I just really think this line would click. I like to imagine the future this way if thats who we drafted! I would not mind picking him in the second round, depending on if Eric Cornel or A fallen first rounder, but Lemieux would make a solid second round choice in my opinion.

Thanks for that, thats just dirty tho 7 pts in 3 games third line shut down,,, guys a champ, gonna be a huge part of our team soon

How can you even compare Scrhroeder hamill or brule to Ehlers Ehlers plays a speed game, none of those 3 do, Schroeder is much smaller than ehlers height wise what i she 5 8 5 9? Most sites I have seen have ehlers as 6 feet 170 now. Brule played a power game in WHL, he wasnt developed properly and of course he was only 5 11 175-185 when he came in to the big league and he wasnt ready. Ehlers game and situation just arent comparable with those three players. TOMaapleLaughs: This point came up about Sam Gagner. Why he's struggled. These are valid points on ehlers though, his plus/minus and stats could be inflated by Drouin, but next year Drouin will be gone and he will be thrusted into a leadership role, were he grew up playing hockey his size wasnt important to his game, here in north america it is. He has said that, I really dont think he will have trouble putting on 25 points over the next couple years slowly without affecting his speed at all. I am not advocating we draft him, but he is a guaranteed top 10 pick this draft and depending on the board and how things shape up, a GM might snag him early 4-7, especially if some of the top ten guys have poor playoff performances.

[Official] 2014 NHL Entry Draft Discussion Thread
R3aL replied to Alex the Great's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Depends who is available and where we pick, but I would not be upset with selecting Ehlers he has complete nhl game breaking potential. He will need to gain some weight to at least 180 and he needs to work on his defensive game a bit more, but like most offensive youngsters they all do. I would love picking Virtanen though, I really do not understand the discrepancies in his rankings they are all over the place. But when I look at him I see just RAW potential and talent, a physical hockey toolhouse of a prospect, He has the size the wheels the shot the moves, finds the soft spots, the only thing I would think he needs to work on is his overall hockey IQ, vision and defensive play. The fact for the kid is he is a younger prospect, he still has room to grow, he has a shot and speed that most players can never achieve, I would be more than disappointed if Virtanen was available and we selected a : Kempe, McCann, Kapanen, Karlsson, Hosang, fabbri, barbashev etc If it came down to Ehlers or Virtanen I would prefer Virtanen, just for the team need, but I wouldnt be outraged. When it comes to Perlini/Ritchie/Virtanen My opinions are ever changing, as no way will all 3 of them turn out to reach their potential, and each three brings different intangibles. All three have NHL level shots, size and skating. I am not sure who will turn out to be the best though, and I hope our scouts crystal balls are ready this summer, will be a very interesting draft, think its quite a crapshoot with potential homeruns and busts. -
I want a top four pick so badly, after enduring such a terrible season we deserve a top pick, our fans our team everyone needs a new young superstar, TOP 4: Reinhart, Ekblad, Bennett, Draisaitl (I never spell leons name right) I want one of these big bois to dawn a nux jersey like no buddies business
-
Sick to see our youngsters connect for a beauty

I'd be in tears man losing seguin and dougieee Hamilton and another, while sinking.. Would be brutal. Yea can't belive that's Craig's updated march list and it has Virtanen unbelievably low, maybe he's been comparing notes with our brilliant scouting dept? The draft lotto is all the teams that don't make te playoffs have a chance, last place team has 25% chance and it decreases from There. If a team behind our position wins we will get pushed back one draft slot. I agree with that top 4 forwards what a dream it would be to add one of these guys though: reinhart, Bennett, Draisaitl, Dal Colle If ehlers has already put on 20 lbs snypers and it hasn't slowed him Down one bit he's goin to peak into the top 5 or maybe just out of it. They've got him on da juice! Just kidding I'm sure Drouin is giving him diet and weight training advice plus other coaches etc. that's awesome. He could top out 190-200 and grow a bit more in height even while still being ridiculously fast and dynamic. If Virtanen fell second round I would be beyond shocked, and since I'm guessing we will be trading a few pieces pre draft I'm guessing we will gain a mid to late first rounder, if Virtanen is availble there we better pick him, if not I seriously want Nikita Scherbak like no buddddies business, I just love the way he plays and really think his game will translate to NHL success. With our second id love to pick one of these guys if availble : Fabbri, Roland Mckeown, fiala, Cornel One of these guys.

Find it strange how so many posters have been like Virtanen is so small, Virtanen is a second round pick, only thing I can think of is now that it is evident we will be crashing and burning and having a top pick ppl are just looking at some stats and old rankings and posting here? Either wayyy Heres hoping to finishing 6th, 4th or 5th would be awesome, and winning the lottery would be a dreamm! I want Leon as well! I like Ehlers more than Nylander, but to be honest I have not even watched a full game for nylander just highlights. I just want the season to end and the draft to be here already, as fans its the only thing we have to look forward to its kinda sad!
-
loool booom! As for Virtanen, I dont understand how anyone can say hes small ridiculousss hes a big boiii
-
Kane did pack on 20lbs.. He grew an inch in height from 5-10 to 5-11 and e went from 162ish -182 ish and it hasn't seemed to slow him down, he also is/was a little shorter than Ehlers. Comparison to schroeders kinda silly, Schroeder is 5 ft 9. And I think he was 5 8 when drafted could be wrong there tho, and Schroeder ne'er put up crazy numbers like this or ever scored as many goals or highlight real goals, with a +56.. Either way ehlers is a shade under 6 ft could still grow a little in height and he could defn fill his frame with lean muscle mass as his body matures. Have to remember he's a rookie to North American hockey. I'm guessing his weight training and diet wasn't followed to closely up and till now. Whoever drafts him will work out a plan with him an achievable one. It's not like he's going to put 30 lbs on after binge eating doughnuts, his weight gain will be very gradual, over a few years and I don't think it will slow him down one bit, when Kane put on weight it made him more dangerous as his side became more powerful and he became harder to knock off the puck without losing speed. I am not going to say we should pick Ehlers over say Perlini and Virtanen, but if that's the choice our scouts and managers face when we are up it will be a tough decision, and I like what all three players can offer.
