  1. Hope whatever happens with Schenn he is on board and has a plan for his family. And ofc I am hoping for MAX return a 1st round pick even if we take money back to facilitate the move and boost the return! Pleaseeeeee 1st round pick!
  2. My point for Drance. and I listen to him a lot. I listen to all the sn650 segments regularly. I like he does the work, he has a valid opinions, he doubles down on his views and owns them right or wrong. And hes clearly passionate. What I have a problem with: He is more pessimistic than optimistic in most situations. And not jus when he goes off or loses it. But his constant tone, messaging and delivery of his views is exhausting to listen to for me. He drains me. Sometimes after listening to him I feel just stressed out and my anxiety goes up and my breathing more shallow. He drains my energy. I think he could be a bit more neutral or optimistic at times. Negative views from him can increase fan toxicity levels and in reality no matter how much work he does hes not a team executive or a hockey genius. If he was he'd have a different job. So I wish this old story could reach him: A farmer has several horses that give him status and wealth. Other people in the village often tell him how good it is that he has these horses. He answers: “Good or bad, who’s to say?” One day the horses breach his fence, break free and run away. He has lost his horses and the villagers are quick to point out how terrible and awful that is. What a bad predicament! The man again answers: “Good or bad, who’s to say?” The man’s son goes out and starts looking for the horses that have escaped. A few weeks later he returns with the horses along with a few wild horses who had joined the herd. The villagers tell the man how wonderful it is that the man now has his horses back along with a few more! Again, he replies: “Good or bad, who’s to say?” A few days later, in an attempt to tame and train the wild horses, the man’s son is thrown and breaks his leg. When the villagers hear about the injury they feel so sorry for the man and his son. How terrible! Once again, the man replies: “Good or bad, who’s to say?” The son must rest and recover and let his leg heal. During his recovery the army marches into town looking to recruit all able-bodied young men to fight in the war. Because of his injury, the son is unable to join the fight. That is very good luck, the villagers say. And again, the man replies: “Good or bad, who’s to say?” - And really any fan here who hasn't heard this should read it and consider it every trade, draft pick and signing we make. ^ Those who are optimistic are usually the happiest too. So listening to a more pessimistic than optimistic media man is a drain. And he is notably more pessimistic than any other canucks segment who also are critical of the canucks decision or direction. It is jus the way he delivers things. My answer is more longwinded than a Triple Threat Ian Mac response lmao
  3. I was gonna say something similar to this LOL gauging all the way to contract expiration
  4. Ya I’m thinking it’s just a big change, he’s adjusting, his deployment, the pressure to produce etc hes probably trying incredibly hard and things will settle down. hopefully by the playoffs he’s settled into things here and either way i think he’s going to have a monster summer and be prepared for a big year In Abby next year.
  5. I think you can retain in his expiring contract for this season and not for the extension though. not 100% sure but I can’t see why not retention in the extension would be and should be not even a consideration
  6. I just didn’t like the context of what we are willing to do to make it happen that to me means retaining or taking money back I shouldn’t say didn’t like but more makes me nervous
  7. Just pure speculation. frank isn’t saying teams but that teams have discussed acquiring him and called us
  8. I’m listening to this segment rn. it sounds like NJ could push for Timo or JT. I think JT would fit in there really well
  9. Theres some scouts that I’ve heard really rave about Simashev and he could be reslly high on some draft boards. But I’ve never seen him ply a full game even so I have no idea. Don’t be sorry at all I’ve just seen him play full games with peers and with his club so I have a lot more to go off for him. have you watched full games for Guly? i haven’t. But what I’ve read and heard about him is that the skating and puck skills look elite. And when the puck is on his stick he’s a completely different player from when he doesn’t have the puck on his stick. and that his defensive awareness, reads/plays without the puck has some scouts worried about how is game will project to the NHL. and as for ASP I see a lot of similarities to what I read about Guly except I know he’s really working on his play without the puck, his puck retrieval and his stick work to close passing lanes and winning one on one battles with men in the SHL, especially in practice. i also think he’s showing he can be an elite puck mover / passer and I’m not confident Guly is as good a passer as ASP. From what you’ve seen do you think he is?
  10. Late round target? https://www.timescolonist.com/sports/grizzlies-highly-touted-blue-liner-stanley-set-to-make-bchl-debut-5027151 had an Owen Pickering like growth spurt could be a nice local project RHD
  11. I think they are not just throwing him in the top of the lineup and saying score. they are working with him with a long term plan and this time now and the off-season will set him up to be the MAN in abby next year
  12. Interesting. I have a hard time ranking the dmen since I have barley seen Gulyayev, Simashev and Reinbacher play. So my opinion on them is based purely off what I have heard and read mostly. Whereas Lukas and ASP I have seen a lot more of. So biased to liking them more. And Aram I have kind of overlooked and because of you I am watching CLOSER. So I feel like I cant properly rank the dmen currently
  13. In our micro environment as hockey fans we truly were robbed of not seeing that. Very small on the grand scheme of things in comparison but I get what you are saying completely. I just cant see a team passing on Fantili in the two hole. If I was a GM I wouldn't.
  14. I honestly can’t imagine a world Fantili doesn’t go second overall. what he’s doing I. The NCAA is insane. And how he adjusted to playing a support role at the world juniors also commendable. If Fantilli doesn’t go second I’ll eat my shirt but I’m 99.9% confident he doesn’t go 3 or later.
  15. You know in a perfect world where we sign Livingstone and he pairs / develops beautifully with Hughes. Drafting ASP you could project a future imaginary top four of HUGHES-LIVINGSTONE EP2-ASP would be an interesting combination of size / skill / puck moving / nationality lol but EP-ASP will be paired next world juniors and could be a dominant top pairing. Having them grow in the system on a similar timeline would be pretty cool. Ya if we went PWF virtanens year I wanted Nick Ritchie and look how that would have gone too and he doesn’t have the character or work ethic issues like Jake. D would have been fleury or honka. if we went skill I did think Nylander was the obvious choice at the time. Even though SNYPERS was rightfully pushing Ehlers big time here. lots of huge misses and hits that draft though was a tough one. Long winded message jheeeez but ya I want livingstone I’ll be pretty choked if we don’t sign him
  16. I don’t know yet I think if we are moving boeser and garland we keep him to a similar level salary but depends on how he continues to perform rest of the way here and what kind of offers we get and if we trade hoglander I like him though
  17. Also Arrogant as he seemed to think he didn’t ever need to acquire additional draft picks and that his talent evaluation process would make up for having less draft picks.
  18. Hey if he can be a 45-55 point winger that can play anywhere in our top 9, pp or Pk and has speed to burn for below league average forward salary who’s not gonna like him? thing I like about AB is even though he’s streaky he’s shown he has an extra gear for big games and plays a game that translates well in the playoffs. really like that we’ve added him and Mikehyev. A healthy Mikehyev and him in our top 6/9 playing with our skilled guys is a really nice mix and adds a lot of speed.
