DRAFT ALL THE PLAYERZZ!! SIGN ALL THE FA!!! TRADE ALL THE PLAYERZZ!!! LOL... that basically sums up the CDC's id

I occasionally slum on HF boards, but it is a toxic sespool of haters. Our trolls are timid and reasonable compared to what exisists there. I have read posts from Bad Goalie before and don't find them revealing or insightful. He/she sounds like a bitter hater of most things Canucks from my POV. Bad Goalie is not a source I would depend on for player evaluations. IMO

So Bertuzzi had it all figured out? Naslund put it all together in Pitsburg with Jagr and Lemieux? Blanket statements are often wrong and make the poster look close minded or certain about the future. If Jake doesn't put it together by the end of next year, then I would be willing to say 'career third liner.' Utica is on a nine game losing streak and lacks playmakers. Everyone on that team, save Subban is not producing.

Not many 20 y/o guys of any background have their head on straight. Being glib.

Mor maybe they are and that's Jake's problem....

If anything it was the usual suspects (any windbag on radio?) speculating on what it would cost to land Drouin. 'Well I think the starting point would be Bo Horvat with the Canucks having to add o land Drouin." Who kmows if there was any concrete offer. JB could have called Stevie Y when Drouin was available and the call would sound like this,' Hey Steve, I heard that Drouin was available, what are you looking for in return?' 'Bo Horvat and your 5th OA.....Hey Jim are you there....?" 'Dial tone.' next thing you know rumours come out that the Canucks offered up Bo Horvat for Drouin. All quotes were were hypothetical and completely false. Any resemblance to actual events is purely unintentional and I do not want to be used as a source in the Trades and Rumours section! EW

Would love to get another top six forward, LW or center, but if we are moving Tanev and our 1st this year a much bigger return is needed. Sam Rienhart, Wenneberg etc. If Alnzer could be had as FA awesome. Why not trade one of our current players for him in a sign and trade deal. We still need to move one of our expansion eligible guys, hit have always liked Alnzer's game.

Juolevi sucked in goal for Finland this year, no hat tricks and he didn't drop the gloves once. Coach killer!
-
So we can now blame Juolevi for having his WJC coach fired, am I doing it right for the trolls on the CDC? Sarcasm

Ekblad was a 1st OA. That means nearly or already NHL ready. Nowhere is it proclaimed that a prospect has to make the NHL in his first year or he is a bust.

Think maybe you missed your meds... Your rambling, and who are specifically talking too, all the CDC?

2017 NHL Draft - Chicago, Illinois June 23-24 2017

There read a few good reviews on Cal one from CBC sports and another from THN. One has him listed as 6'3 the other 6'4. He has between a size 13 to 16 Skate and is around 200lbs. He averaged .5 points a game as a rookie in the WHL, plays a very defensively responsible game that you would expect from a Foote. Skates well and is expected to go top ten in the draft. This guy is going to be huge and with the love fest for former NHLers kids and how well they see to adjust to the NHL, why not break the trend with Foote. I want a center, but if we are picking another Dman, Foote should be considered. This guy could be Trymakin big in 4 years, Adam Foote has been teaching him the pro game his whole life, and he has the ability to put up points. He he was born in the USA but only tried out for team Canada. He didn't make the WJC roster in Canada, but could have played for team USA. Chose not to. I dont know how to link so google it EW -
2017 NHL Draft - Chicago, Illinois June 23-24 2017

Well, not living in any part of the world were I can watch first hand and with little more the YouTube clips and highlights to go by I find online scouting reports to be very informative. I catch the odd QMHL game out east but life is busy. My comment is tongue and cheek and I respect certain posters on this board when it comes to their prospect assessments. Others, not so much. As for Foote, he is 6'3 and still growning, .5 point per game average in his rookie season, has a NHL parent as a pedigree, plays in the WHL. Lots to like. -
Maybe the Finnish Coach really cares about OJ's development and is getting him prepared for Willie D's coaching style. He seems to emulate WD in many ways.

I I would take any of the above except Foote, need to know more about him. If we end up with any of the other players at the draft, win. Post script. Just read about Foote, he is on my list now too. I might even put him ahead of Liljegren as the best defender in the draft. -
Dont my think it's just nervous folks, there are posters here that thrive on all things negative in relation up the Canucks. They are the 'Rowdy 3' showing up, trashing the place and feeding off the negativity.
-
Well he was made captain of the team, so obviously the coach believes that he is a leader, but doesn't use him as one. Finnish fans can't understand what their coach is doing, don't see a lot of reason to put a team failure at the WJC on OJ. The internals are all speculative but this tourney is a mess for Finland and OJ.

Where this all stems from is an unreal instant gratification complex that exists on the CDC. Jake is only two years past his draft year, just really getting adjusted to the AHL. But other players have gotten more points in the NHL. Yada yada yada. Does that mean Jake or insert prospects name here. Say Ollie, can never improve if they don't follow a specific tragectory. This isn't rocket science where we can calculate gravitational pull etc etc etc. This is personal development, it's inconsistent, wildly unpredictable and hard to replicate from individual to individual. It's also not done in a steady medium, instead each individual has different coaching, support, players and usage to influence the outcome, especially in the formative years. Jake cannot be properly assessed yet. Draft year plus 5 is when a consensus/verdict can be made in the negative. Positive results are easier to draw conclusions from, as is always the case, proving a negative takes a lot more time. Jake has been in the AHL for a handful of games and due to injury he missed the AHL training camp. For Chirstsakes he is young enough to be still playing in the CHL as an overager NVD people are ready to give up on him.
-
Can always count on the 5th line to point out all the negatives. Do you really not think Juolevi is a good prospect.. Or are you smelling some negativity and wanted to join the fun.
-
By all accounts the coach for Finland is getting skewered by the Finnish fans posting in the HF. This is a short tourney and yes the coach does handle the deployment. Don't know is team Finland decided behind closed doors to look to next year with this team and getting reps in to the younger guys is what's driving things. Juolevi is is their best d, but the coach is not using him well.
-
Team am need might have been the deciding factor, added to that, Tkachuk is playing on an up and coming team with support in the line up. Can't see him having the same results in Vancouver. I would expect Jake would also be putting up better numbers on Calgary's roster than ours. We needed a defender or center. Juolevi was default afrer Dubois was taken. I am fine with not taking Tkachuk. I project Boeser to be a better player than the son of Keith. Virtannen could be just as valuable and we won't know until thos team changes up the coach. Its only been 6 months since the draft and Tkachuk made his NHL debut, so what, there is no prize for being the first prospect to make a team, there is still a very long road to go before we can clearly compare picks. Heck in another year Horvat could a 70 point center. If we went off his Juinor and first season in the NHL, we could not have projected that. Wait for Juolevi to complete his season before looking at the point avg. this guy has a track record of improving his play as he gets deeper into the season and playoffs. BTW, how many of the defenders with higher points in the OHL are over agers? And another point. No one is comparing OJ to Hanifan or Eckbald. Those guys are on another level and no one from last years draft will be as good as them.
-
Deployment is all on the coach. Juolevi wasn't my first choice either, but he has really grown on me. More so than Jake, and I support him still. The the whole club is in a state of turmoil and we won't see the end of that for a while, but one of the picks I won't lose any sleep over is Juolevi.

I am only commenting on a hypothetical. Just can't see Tanev traded for a draft pick.
