  1. I do work in healthcare, as a paramedic. Not completely clueless. Unlike Dr Recchi.
  2. Deals have to be made and vers will be going on waivers this year. We have 13 spots and 18 players in the mix. Goldy and McEwan are buble guys atm, fair enough. They could both pass thru, I am sure management is waiting for a mass waiver wire day to get both thru. Everyone loves Eriksson this preseason, still he will clear waivers. No one is paying full freight for him. Having him clear waivers could increase his trade value. I don't buy the 6 million dollar penalty killer. Yes he is a good PK player. Maybe the best on the team, but somehow I would think Bo would be our best defensive forward, even on the PK. Sutter knows he is a lock, he is a lock. Gaudette is pushing everyone. He has earned the spot. If it comes down to Adam vs Loui, Adam all the way. By the end of the season, he will be as good at the PK as Loui is now. Beagle is the key PK guy. Not Eriksson. Miller, Ferland and Ep40 are all smart two way players, I am sure they can PK if need be. JV isn't being waived. Dealt, that is a possibility. Yes he scored 2 goals, yes he isn't having the best camp. 22 years old and he could easily be showcased to boost his trade value. If he is sent thru waivers he would be claimed. Motte, Leivo and Schaller. Motte is the most consistent player. Great bottom six energy guy. He would be claimed IMO. We need his contract and energy. Leivo. Vs Schaller, I take Leivo, Vs Eriksson, Leivo please. Versatile, has size and skates well. Will work hard every night. IMO he will improve with the season and gladly take any roll the coach gives him. Eriksson is the safety player to waive, he won't be picked up. In the off chance Mad Mike gets a GM job and takes Eriksson off waivers, we free up cap space. If his is a as good as many see him to be this preseason, then with cleared waiver status, with some cap retained, maybe we could move him. If he stays, paper him down, then see if he can elevate his play. Give him a shot with Bo or Ep40. A reset if you will. If putting Loui on waivers allows us to keep Motte or Leivo, without losing Loui, then that is the best path IMO.
  3. Not a Dr. No more than Recchi. But he was an 'expert' too.
  4. You have the education, training and expertise in Orthpedic Surgery and specific knowledge of OJ's medical history to make that kind of assessment? Well if so, way to violate the patient confidentiality ethics, and if not, you literally are pointing to an apple and a watermelon and saying they are the same thing.
  5. I think this was why JB and Brackett liked him so much. He has the secret ingredient, a unicycle.
  6. Shortened this up to respond. First, you have a bucket load of assumptions about my mind set. So far Loui has a passing grade, amongst many other players this camp. While I do appreciate that a c plus is a c plus. Getting a c plus from LE isn't enough. He should be a essy A. I need to see more from LE, you don't. That's a difference of opinion. Just cause my threshold hasn't been met yet, does not mean it can't be met. Just I have a higher bar for expectations out of this player than you do. Yes his fair to decent showing has kept him in the mix. Not good enough from a guy that does need to be a better player. To me, Loui isn't giving it his best effort. That may be because he has years as a pro and hasn't had to 'earn' a spot. A lot of vets don't turn it on at camp. This season is different, even Green has noted it. Loui was a guy that IMO needs to put some moxie in his game. He is a smart player that can be effective without the same energy expenditure as others, sure. So why isn't he using that extra capacity to improve his on ice performance? This is the nuance that I am trying to explain. Take McEwan, Motte and Leivo. 3 guys of different skill sets that are in the mix for the same roster spot that Loui is in the mix for. They have higher compete, are better skaters, play a way more physical game suited to the bottom six and are giving it their all every night. Sure Loui can contribute at that level without breaking a sweat. He did that multiple times in the last 3 years. Most games I would say. With 22 guys leaving it on the ice every night, I don't like that one guy does as little as possible, but enough to stay in the lineup and can go home without taking a shower. He is capable of better play, but his effort has been lacking. No room for that IMO. If thay changes, and not just for a few.games, then great. My threshold has been met. Not yet.
  7. Doubt it. But I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as our 7th d man by seasons end. We have a slew of guys that are battling for a spot on our bottom pairings and bottom forward lines. Sautner, Biega, Fattenburg, Breezer, Teves, Rafferty and OJ.... Competition and depth. Essential for this team to turn the corner.
  8. Jasek has learned thru earning playing time vs men. He does the little things the right way and he doesn't look out of place at all. Good hockey player with potential. Not bad for a 6th rounder.
  9. Honestly, what the &^@# Edmonton, going for the 1st OA again or what!
  10. Gross. I have had to intubate a patient who chewed tobacco, disgusting.
  11. But do the next round of prospects unicycle and juggle at the same time. If not, pass. Swedes now all.have to perform at least one skill that could land them circus side gig. Lol.
  12. Save the condensation. You can also save your excuses when Eriksson again disappears for long stretches. The only positive thing about Erikssons play for that past 3 years is that he hasn't been a defensive liability. Sure, we lacked even players that could step on the ice and not get embarrassed over the past few years. We iced Megna on the top line for 41 games. He scored 2 goals. But he wasn't a liability defensively. Loui is like that. Just good enough. That be your motto, but listening to Green, I think he wants to win.
  13. Split squads and AHLers and he looks like a botton six among many.
  14. Maybe here is where you and I might be in disagreement. To you, Loui has to be outplayed by someone to loses his spot. Too me, if a younger player and Eriksson are neck and neck, Eriksson has lost. Just being good enough to stay on the roster as a 30 plus year old declining player with an odorous contract vs a young player on an upward trend with potential to get better, hungry to stay in the line up. If that's a tie, heck even if it's close, bye bye Loui. 10 out of 10
  15. Dude, Eriksson has gone far longer than a game without a point. As for a preset mind. I am always open to new evidence. I haven't seen what I need from him to show me to be redeemed. I would be happy to be wrong.
  16. Who the heck let Pratt back on the air!!!
  17. Look at Bo. Dominant. That's where Eriksson should want to be. Pushing to get better. If anyone on this roster should be motivated this year, it should be the guy getting the most motivation. He is a decent player, playing like a guy who is okay with being a decent player. Nothing to prove. Walking is a as good as running as long as you get the finish line. I want guys who want to win the race, not just cross the finish line.
  18. If his contract is irrelevant, his play is decent on a half squad. His is older, not getting better and not hungry. I see no drive or passion from Eriksson to win. He played Okay tonight. That's it. Eriksson has something to prove this year and I see nothing that shows that he is hungry. In his case, hungry for redemption. The rest of this team is hungry. They want to win, every time Ep40 hits the ice, he wants to win. His energy and confidence is contagious. Bo has compete, but he has played on some bad teams, teams where guys like Eriksson could get 1st line minutes with that effort. If our young guys see the last remnant of the country club that existed here prior to Green, then look no further than Eriksson, exhibit a. Is Eriksson playing his best out there. Do we want guys who just want the status quo vs giving it their best. I don't want a guy on this team that isn't hungry. We've misses the playoffs for how many years? I would rather have a guy hungry, either to earn a spot, earn a new contract next year. They will give it their all, every night. If not then some else will who is one step below them on the depth chart. Jasek looks good so far, McEwan looks good. Not as regulars but as a 13th forward, why not. They aren't even in the mix. Bottom six players are replaceable. Other than Beagle and Sutter, the rest still are likely to get better as getting worse. Eriksson is only declining. Our bottom six mix of candidates consists of Virtannen, Pearson, Goldy, Gaudette, Motte, Leivo, Beagle, Rousell, Schaller, McEwan, Sutter and Eriksson. Based solely on that, Eriksson certainly can be in the mix for a bottom six spot. But where to you rate him. Above Jake? Beagle? Pearson? Sutter? Rousell (injured, but still a 3rd line lock when he comes back) Goldy? Motte? Leivo? Gaudette? I rank him above Schaller and McEwan, but they both have something he lacks, pushback size. Eriksson is not playing above enough depth players atm to stay on the NHL club IMO.
  19. Was referring solely to Gaudette's goal. To me that's a guy who just got a image of what type of player he can be. His two way game will get him into the NHL, faster if his faceoffs become stronger, but plays like that... it's those plays that make a third liner a second liner in waiting.
  20. Score, like alot and be the best player on the ice in that game last night. Cause that's what he was paid to do. Be our 3rd best player. He is playing like a bottom six player and has since his own goal, opening night 3 years ago. Not once has he shown any near the level of play to justify his contract. His play so far this preseason has been 'good enough' to be considered a decent showing by a Bottom six player. That's not worth it. The guy needs to either get a serious wake up call (waivers) and show Green, JB, his teammates and the fans that he can elevate his game or ride a bus/retire. That's what Eriksson can do for me.
  21. Just watched the game. Wow! First, just also waked and baked. No judgements, it's my 5 o'clock. I work shifts. Markstrom. In top form. Did cough up a few rebounds, but he saw alot of shots. Didn't give up on anything and that goal by Edmonton just squeaked by him. His motion likely took the puck into the net. Brogan Rafferty. Love it. Great shot and offence. Wearing the 3 to boot. Horvat was in top form. Actually feel he was holding back from top gear. I think the Baer Bo Miller line (The BooM line or west coast BoMBers?) That line could really take off with the chemistry they are already showing. Gaudette was determined to score and did. Great patience with the puck. To lose the handles get it back and then launch a wrister the way he did. That's skill. We already know he has serious compete and a good two way game. Gaudette and Sutter are both pushing each other. Prefect Schaller looked good. Gotta say it should increase his trade value. By no means did either team roll out its top players, but its was an even match when depth charts are brought in. JB has some players on the ice that are making him look good as of now. Not Eriksson, sorry Jim. That type of stain rarely comes out.
  22. Beiga should be a waiver player. If he clears, his value to the club and as a trade chip go up. If another team takes him, he gets an NHL gig, he's earned it. Unless another team ends up losing d men in preseason, he isn't the type of guy usually picked up on preseason waivers. Goldy, Motte and Leivo are suited to the 5th line atm. All have room to grow, fit in different lines and are cheap, cheap cheap. Rafferty and OJ are all but Utica bound. A good thing IMO. Breeze is a guy I want to see more of. Rather have him up than Biega if it means losing one vs the other. To me Woo could earn a 9 game stint as a carrot, but he is going back to jr for sure. We have to remember that Trymakin likely becomes available by the end of season. It's like a TDL deal for a huge mobile defender with upside. Nice to have that in the back pocket. Can we start packing Erikssons things yet? I will help him move, maybe Burkie can drive him to airport. I doubt a cool dude like Eriksson will report to Utica. Still some relief from him is better than none. We have other guys that can kill penalties. Waive Eriksson.
  23. Podz is a can't miss guy. Whether he can turn into a top six player is valid. Looking at his start this year, the KHL is the league of hard knocks. No special treatment. Podz has endless compete and motor. Things that go a long way into becoming an NHLer. At 10 and beyond, there are no sure bets. Myers received a 9% raise. That's it. The term is decent, he isn't waiver protected and has a contract that is fair. His a RHD to boot. He didn't get overpaid. He still has to go out and earn the money. Dido for Edler. Two top 4 d men with size and ability. Neither player handcoffs the team in any way. Ferland. His injuries can be a problem. We have 3 guys this year with some questionable ability to be healthy. Baer, Rousell and Ferland. All left wings. At least we have depth!. As for Ferland, doubt he signs for 3.5 if he was healthy last year. But if a gamble, but if he gets hurt, cap relief thru ltir. Boeser's deal is the right fit for both sides. It's done. 3 years from now, Ep40 and Hughes will be on their second terms, so the deck should be cleared to sign Brock. A big anchor contract comes off the books in 3 years too, plus the Luongo recapture penalty. Look its found money. Eriksson is a hot mess. Retrospect, no one wants him. Can't trade him, his isn't doing enough to stay in the line up... IMO time to waive him and let the chips fall where they may. With Brock signed, Eriksson didn't hurt the team this year, but next? With the bloated contact, we will get cap relief with any injury, so it shouldn't be a problem for now. Maybe he bounces back. Even then, no one will take him with his full price tag. The failure was 3 years ago. I liked the deal then and I don't think anyone saw how dreadful he would be at producing.
