  1. Edler has a much better body of work and is a vet in the locker room. Hutton has turned it around this year, but nearly played himself off the roster after his last two stinker seasons. Edler carries the team at times, plays massive minutes and look.at our record without him. Edler over Hutton all day long, but we dont have to make that choice, we can have both and Hughes and OJ on left side until Edler retires or Trymakin returns and Hutton is likely dealt. IMO Hutton is not as good as OJ and Hughes will be. I also felt that Trymakin out played him when they were here together a few years ago. Hutton reminds me of Brent Sopel. Good player, but replaceable.
  2. Ludacris was a brilliant philosopher and had conceived of an universe before anyone else. The church burned his work and turned the his name into an insult to protect their hemogy from science. So as a projection, if it is Ludacris, it will be likely proven right.... Sp mistake Lucretius whom the word is based on. This became Ludicrous and became an insult. Things Lucretius philosophized, evolution and a infinite universe.
  3. This is a Brackett pick that could pay of really well. Sons of NHLers do have an advantage in turning pro. Madden would have had the same access that others did, just was on the small size. His dad was a heck of a good player.
  4. Bo Horvat had horrible AHL numbers.
  5. Whaaaa? Hutton has taken some good strides this year, but is not close to Edler IMO. If anything, Hutton progress has helped lighten the load enough on Edler so he oant making mistakes. Edler has had some ups and downs so far, but is a work horse. He has been playing against top lines for 10 years and holds his own. Ideally he would be our 2nd-3rd d man. Hutton hasn't taken the mantle away from him and is nowhere near as good at the same age as Edler. IMO Hutton has been the guy we have vs the guy we want. He has truly benefited from Trymakin's sulk and OJ injuries. He is an okay second pairing guy. He shouldn't cost alot and we need the depth. Hughes will push him down shortly and if Hutton becomes our 5 d man then we are in a good spot. Also Hughes, Hutton and Edler are all LHD. They shouldn't be partners. IMO Hutton should play with Stetcher, Hughes with Guddy and Edler with Tanev. Switch Stecher and Tanev depending on match ups. Edler Tanev could be a good shur down and I think Hughes could carry Guddy and bring our Guddy's potential.
  6. Another really good thing about Miller is that he can play forward too. Great pick by the Rangers. I would he willing to move some really assets to grab a player like him. As for who will be better, Miller vs Woo, hard to say. Woo is tearing the WHL apart right now and getting stronger as the season progresses. TC made a mistake keeping him off their roster IMO, but what else is new. Madden and Woo looks pretty outstanding atm and Woo is going to be an absolute hit in this market. I bet that JB had Woo ranked alot higher than the second round. One rant.... drafting percentages are not definitive and do not replace good scouting. Woo was a sleeper and was underrated due to his injury. The difference between a top second and bottom 1st is not significant. Since becoming our GM JB has hit more picks than missed IMO. The McCann pick is likely his worst so far. Since being picked the only thing Woo didn't get was selected to TC. He is very young and is only.gettong better. There is no garuantee that JB didn't have Woo ranked higher than others, like Hughes, like EP40, like Boeser, like Demko, like Gaudette etc... playing the percentages will only go so far. True depth research takes time, eyeballs and a thorough background.
  7. We can't draft all the players... The rangers need all the help they can find. Woo is going to be perfect for this market.
  8. There is no reason to my comparisons... I just think it could.be awesome. The only question is the combo the Woo Hughes combo or the Hughes Woo combo.
  9. I will up your Suter Weber with Blake Bourque.
  10. Don't get technical with my techno coloured dreaming.
  11. Better.... Kieth -Subban 2.0. But no pressure...
  12. Woo was on my all name team and on my list of guys that I hoped would drop to our second rounder. Wilde and Miller were the other two, Miller is really exciting and Wilde might be a little too wild off ice. Woo was under the radar as his injury and the teams subsequent moves to shore up their d while he was injured went along way to hiding his potential. I am.not surprised that he is having such a good year. The guy is a stud d man. Hughes is other worldly but Woo is the pick I was most excited about. Our future top pairing found in the same draft. Awesome.
  13. There are statistics and damned statistics. So many varieties of getting to the show and factors beyond the control of everyone, namely injuries. Personally your analytical approach to predicting future player success based solely on their point production in their rookie pro season is a bit dodgy. Really you can only do this for the guys that are healthy and up to pro speed already. This largely favours the small skilled European players IMO as they already have pro experience prior to the jump. Lind is what, 19 years old. Way to early to be reading the tea leaves on this player. My theory is that it takes 5 years to prove a negative pick. In that time the player can exceed the trend ala EP40, but the guys who are on the normal path have about 5 years to get their before the club will pull the plug.
  14. Woo, take a knee... This happens all the time. They want to have him get some pro pay checks and pro coaching and conditioning but not burn an ELC year then they give him the Bo treatment.
  15. The best thing about the ASG is the extended break for the nucks. Time to break down the first half, tweak things, heal up and rest up our young guys kot yet used to the NHL grind. We are in the best possible position to have important games in the back half as we have been in 4 years. Green should have these guys hungry and ready to go. That's my expectation and I wont take any excuse for less than an all out effort by the roster till the end of the year.
  16. If Edler was to waive his NTC for 6 weeks, there would be considerable interest. He would be a significant add to a roster to put it over the top. Tampa comes to mind. An Edler Hedman pairing... damn. I almost want a young d prospect back more than a pick. Cal Foote is one such guy. There are others, but the type of guy that could step in as early as this season and further the transition. To me Hutton has only stuck due to an uncertain roster. First Trymakin went home. ImO Trymakin would have supplanted Hutton the next year. Then this year OJ got hurt and Pouliot didnt maintain his momentum from the end of last year. If Edler is resigned, IMO Hutton will.be moved. Hughes should be able to supplant him, OJ is next and then Trymakin is still a factor. If the choice is Edler vs Hutton, Edler all day long.
  17. Losing Markstrom but making room for Demko would be a fine result from the expansion draft. Marky could take Clark with him, jo one knows his weaknesses better than Vancouver. Plus we dont lose a defense man and Marky is not going outlast Demko here.
  18. Granlund is our current Hansen who also plays center. He doesn't have the same motor as Hansen, but better hands. Honestly I think its Sutter that needs to go. He is where plays die. Gaunce needs to do something. He is consistent, but can't turn up the dial. One speed isnt enough. He will always find a home as a pro player, but not in the NHL unless he plays every game like it is his last. Gaunce isnt better than Granlund. Schaller was a miss, thank goodness Beagle and Rousel have worked out so well. Schaller over Gaunce... meh. I hope Schaller gets moved at the TDL just to free up the space for McEwan who just might be better than anyone named in the post.
  19. EP40 has to let someone else win ROM once this year. Had he had a game post the all star game he would have taken it. On a side note, this extended break benefits the Canucks hugely. They have a the first half to breakdown and make change and then have the practice time to get that together before their second half starts. Plus added healing time. It seems like ages since these guys have hit the ice. Looking forward to a solid push from here on out.
  20. Woo has the kind of energy that could do well with some pro minutes. If anything keep him for nine games spred out and let him soak up the knowledge and experience of the show. He can even get a conditioning stint in the AHL ala Bo and still be good for Jr I think. Send him back pre Jr WC if he doesn't stick. Woo could make one of our current d men tradable by next season.
  21. I believe that JB and Brackett are very much in tune with the needs of the club. I hope to see another defender taken in the top two rounds. Preferential treatment to a RHD. Team needs also dictate a LW. Someone with a solid net presence and a good skating. There should be some good options with both positions with our top two picks. Unless we manage to hit an inside straight at the draft ( The NHL loves a good media story, what better than Vancouver getting a top pick in the 2019 draft, ala NJ or Jets from a few years ago).
  22. 5'1.... I hope you mean 5'11. I am warming up to smaller d men, but that seems a bit unlikely to work at the NHL level. Unless he has a magic wand like "Willow".
  23. Pure gold Kootenay, you couldn't be more correct.
