  1. The potential of a player like Dobson with Hughes is so powerful, it’s just so bright and shinny. Don’t ruin a dream when I am sleeping with logic and reason. But one would think that Horvat could be enough for one of those Czeck RHD in last years draft? Plus a pick? It’s a risk, but getting that issue addressed by a ELC return prospect like either those two RHD that went before Lekkermaki, a roster player and a pick would be a healthy return. after watching Power. I want to get our Niedermeyer his Pronger, his Hedman, his Kieth, his Doughty…. Heck, a Bouchard. I would hate to watch the Nucks squander Hughes impact like they did with Bure, by never getting him a Center, like the twins never got a right shooting line mate. just please get Hughes a ideal D partner.
  2. Just looking the thread. if jost has no compete, I do not see Rutherford bringing him into an already ‘fragile’ room. no floaters. I saw good play from Jost in the past.. but haven’t followed a wild game like ever unless they play the nucks
  3. Center. Penalties. Played with Brock in college I think. dries is not working out atm. we need a player to give that one line some connection in the middle and it’s a freebie. send down stillman.
  4. It’s the Crypt Keeper effect. Gallagher showed naysayers that they could make a living at it. the current guy that needs to change his lexicon is Patterson.
  5. Mono. didn’t anyone learn from McCann, mono can take a while to recover. we gave up on the wrong first rounder in that draft. it is what it is.
  6. Miller played Center last season. Bo has had issues on defence too, but both produce and take faceoffs. last season Garland and Podz finished with Miller. honestly EP40 is a guy to groom into a two way center, and load up a scoring line to play opposite his line in the depth chart with Miller. take away one of the three players and return the RHD we need, would balance the Roster and benefit Hughes. Of the three, the one to keep above all, EP40. If it would work to jettison Brock and or Pearson and or Garland and or Hoglander and get close to what we need, sure, but I doubt that would happen. Do I want to trade Bo. no. but I want a RHD fro Hughes. it’s been an issue for too long.
  7. There are a lot of people responding Alf, that don’t understand what ‘if’ means. the need to give our best player a solid line mate that can make our best player, better. is more important than having a luxury of three top six centers. when we truly only need two, and vast lengths of time this team was lucky to have one top six Center. now we have three. so make a move to give our best player support and also address the biggest team weakness for its entire history. RHD. quality for quality. Argue about who should go, Horvat is movesble now for plus plus return. miller and EP40 plus a top 4 RHD that has the physical play but speed to keep up with Hughes would be better than Horvat ep40 and Miller with Hughes. the issue is less about who goes, vs who plays RHD for Hughes.
  8. Deb, love the effort you put in to keeping the trolling that comes out in times like these. some pretty emotional statements about things we cannot control, but watch… you do yeowomans work.
  9. It’s troll bait… I think Horvat showed some maturity and handled a social media thing with some class and humour. hey, shit happens. I know I should have had that one.
  10. He is way more up front with his assessment and he has the respect of the league. not something either of the prior two GMs could say when they were in their first year.
  11. If it’s even a thought, a this point, with a change to snap this team around, with Bo’s play. If the Nucks and player are not together at this point, with him being captain, time to make a deal. like now. don’t wait. you can always fire a coach or get a team to pick a player like Garland off your roster, even for a loss. but if something doesn’t get these guys to get serious for 60 minutes, I think making the most from a flop by selling a peak value on Horvat could be a wake up call for everyone.
  12. Who says that Garland and or Brock are here for long either. but Horvat would bring a return that could free up space and or bring in a player good enough to fix another hole that is sinking this ship. defence. with the state of play, Demko could be dealt for another goalie to be a change. not sure that’s a good idea. but selling high, not high…
  13. He was in the 8th grade. not even shaving yet.. unless like me he was born to be a real life chia pet… lol. but no one needs to be punished for already acknowledging a made mistake as a kid that just stopped playing with transformers and found out that girls are poisonous, at least until middle aged and in then they give off hot flashes first, as a warning sign that they are in emotional states where being a man is dangerous… lol just a joke… my ex tried to kill me… true story… tell ya later. but let the kid go. he is a reformed person, learned from his mistakes.
  14. This team needs to build confidence in Demko. he has faced too many shoots over the year, maybe having flashbacks, ptsd of having to keep the gang in each game for two years. The loss of Myers off the hop was a bigger impact than we may want to acknowledge. If the was a defensively sound AHL call up, then we don’t get royally embarrassed in Montreal. But selling high, that’s a Rutherford way to go. not sure about publicly running down the coach, if not to snap the players into how to not fall apart for whole periods of play. If Horvat is moved. A very real possibility, it would be for a Defenceman that can fix a core issue on the roster. goal scoring is the highest premium, face offs are another, size, another, history as a captain, another, age another. Horvat would tick all the boxes for any team thinking seriously at a run. if one of those teams holds a RHD that can play top four minutes that would suit Hughes, which some years left to play, in the package on the return, our NHL Center depth can sustain the loss of Horvat. maybe this was why Studniak was picked up, to make a rebalancing of the roster possible with Horvat surging and asking for big money, there have been unhappy rumbles, and if your going to change the makeup of the roster, no place more significant to do so, than GM, Coach, Captain and Top Two D or Starting Goalie. They signed Miller for a reason. Miller can do everything that Horvat does. Already proved it. A one two with EP40 and Miller, could really hold its own, with Aman and or Studs being able to sustain their play as newcomers to the bottom six. clearly the Top RHD side of our Defence is at issue. A draft pick and late twenties or early thirties aged D man back with proven play for Hughes, our current Bure, would be like resigning Larionov for him back in 1992 and or getting any Center that was better than our RW Captain, Linden, for so long it hurt. then somehow we get two playmakers that just needed a gritty Two Way winger with leadership and size to bounce pucks off and into the net, with the Sedins…. A younger Trevor Linden, and no one could find a RW that could play with a opposite shooting hand, but we could see what the Sedins did for every winger they played with, From Carter to Hansen, until Player Name Hear took the money and ran, well, not run, more just like hang out and not do anything. so now with this team in a state of unbalance and Rutherford here to make real hard moves… it’s time to see how this gets fixed. if we can either gain a second 1st this year and a RHD of any ability to play better than Luke Schenn and in the 20’s to like 31, that has miles left on the body, for Horvat. take it. If it gives Demko some support and ice time to Brock and Miller to pick up their pace, we should be able to sustain the drop in Offence with the hidden gem of Kuzemenko, and have better overall defence and better depth thru all positions save third line Center, for Aman and Studs to take for now. easier to pick a Center in each draft than a top four RHD. we are in desperate shape without that addressed. demko has shell shock.
  15. No single player costs any team a series. he was on as a rookie in a 3rd OT sudden death series clingling game and he coughed up the puck. And they tor3 him apart. sure, nothing more than good old boys ripping a rookie for an error in a triple OT game 7. They treated him worse than TO treated Larry Murphy. A drafted rookie with a promising futur3 RHD. trash fans in Edmonton
  16. I could only think two things about Chatfield, we already have Hughes and that he was no where near Hughes in ability. and older. Hughes checks a lot of boxes is ways that will eclipse not smaller skilled D men. But he’s strong side gives up a weak side. we need a D man that can fill a void with Hughes and still be an presence in all three zones, like Hughes. I think, KB3. Ethan Bear has a lot of questions and a lot of opportunities to answer them.
  17. Ferland and Poolman are not coming back to the lineup this year. Dermot maybe, but cap space would need to be cleared.
  18. Can a third skate and shoot right on defence? a fifth and people are upset about getting a RHD that can skate and has size and snarl and can shoot the puck. he could not get out of Rod the bods dog house. we have two LHD with skills to make any RHD with a blend of those above traits especially when we have two or three guys in long term injury on D that play the right side. somehow that a Fifth rounder was given up, this is a problem? people stop listening to the media… take a breath and go outside. Every news person in this town was influenced by Tony Gallagher and he was effective… and a guy that ruin any party or joke in about five seconds. just by saying, ‘well, I have some concerns…. ‘ Gas Town is Gas lighting Town in Canucks news… rutherford must be like, “who the fuck worries about a 5th rounder? I just got the guy we targeted in the pre season, for 1.8m, likely an upgrade over Poolman and can Bear and Schenn can shelter and audition with Hughes, giving both OEL and Myers what they need five vs five. a steady veteran D partner. the sheltered Bear and or Schenn with Burroughs and or Rathbone can give us stability on the back end. Bear is 25, says he is in the best shape of his career, is First Nations and can skate, shoot and push back plays defence and shots right. thats a lot of big pluses… and we only gave up a fifth. what’s the fucking problem? I cannot see it.
  19. Too pissed at the clown show by the refs. Kane chops Quinn Hughes in the face with his stick, could have taken out his eye, and Kane was in the PP and the puck wasn’t even close. It’s ignored by the refs. and it leads to a goal. thats fucked.
  20. Totally against trading Podz. RFA and a gamer. his hands and confidence will settle in. His willingness to push back, that’s already near power forward level. He plays a two way game, will go to thr dirty areas, and will lie down in front of slap shots, or steal pucks. this would be Neely level bad.
  21. I think that is the type of deal that both teams would love and hate. which was like the Murzyn for Stern trade. Garland with Kadri… say hello to the new Frick and Frack or Kessler Burrows potential in their prime. Rasmus… the second rounder that still haunts my dreams… ‘Not that one…no don’t trade that second… Nooooo!” would end that nagging pain that Rasmus Anderson was drafted with a second JB traded away. and… massive fix to our right side. And the flames get future pain to inflict with yet again a second rounder… lol
  22. For an AHL team that was held back from a lack of centers, Alvin and company are checking the boxes and addressing the holes from the bottom up.
