Right now Vancouvers route still goes through Vegas, LA and Nashville as their best possible chance to win. Los Angeles is injured; Vegas can't seem to get it together and Nashville is absolutely all over the board. Outside chance of catching Dallas if they win out and Dallas tanks as well.

  4. This does not take in to account levels of average debt per person which stands at about $1.67 owed for every dollar earned. Nor does it account for staples like heat, power, phone/wifi or car insurance and fuel and food. Once all if that is factored in, the average post tax income for a Canadian drops to only $19,300 once debt servicing and day to day bills are factored in. That, is before housing is paid be it rent or mortgage. This is unsustainable
  5. You and me both. You've been at it for 20 years and made the conference finals once. So her s another contract, don't ever change
  6. According to StatsCanada, the average household income in Canada is 66K. The average income of a single person household is 34K. The average price of a home in Canada is now 816K, an almost 100% increase in 6 years. Real estate is now part of Canada's top three "industries", along with oil and gas, and mining. Think you can buy a home if you just pull yourself up by your bootstraps? If you use the CMHC "housing affordability" calculator for a 66K household with a 50K down payment and $1100/month non-housing related expenses, it says that household can afford a $292K house. According to the housing affordability calculator, a household would need to earn 134K, have 100k downpayment, and no more than $1100/month in non-house related expenses to afford a $816K home. According to StatsCanada, only 10% of Canadian households earn over 100K per year. That means that 90% of Canadians cannot afford an average Canadian home. Those without family wealth or access to wealthy co-signers have very limited options. Rent is also going up faster than income. Stats were all taken from the public StatsCan website, the CREA website with mortgage estimates from the CMHC website.
  7. I'd say that's accurate, but it's really just kind of sad. Like who actually has time to change their account name to that then come in here make this statement and stroll out? More importantly, why would anyone want to? To "own the libs" or whatever they're calling it now? It's really just pathetic honestly. To seek that level of attention from a minor hockey forum. All that wasted time typing when he could have been honking his horn somewhere blaming ottawa and trudeau for every single problem in his life instead of taking ownership for it himself.
  8. Now, please do correct me if I am wrong. But isn't the option on the table for BB to decide if he wants it or not? He hasn't as of yet to my knowledge made any kind of decision. I'd like to retain him but I'd like to prepare for the eventuality that he is not here. There's a few decent coaches out there and some outside the box. I'd like to know who people think is an option
  9. And what if he chooses not to stay is the question? He's apparently got the option to renew or walk
  10. Sounds good. But no complaining when closures in other nation affect the supply chain even more and prices increase even more because of it. Deal?
  11. Coach Q should have his investigation finished within the next few months. Distasteful I agree but nobody can discount how good of a coach he is. If he's found to be essentially stupid, drive and ignorant but otherwise innocent he'll get a job asap. Maurice, seemed to have lost a lot of love for the game. Being played by Laine and then jerked around by other senior players kinda gave me the impression he was out of love with the game. I expect he won't be seen for another season or 2. Lambert or Gronberg as head coach in Abby or brought in under BB for a season would be just fine.
  12. Hey my dude. Sorry you don't like the thread. But you don't have to be here if you don't want. There's a lot of talk about BB not being here next year so preparing is worth discussing whether you agree or not.
  13. I'd absolutely be down to see Lambert or Gronberg come and be the HC for Abby or transition to HC under Boudreau. Maurice...I don't know. He didn't leave with a lot of love for the game and I think he might want a few seasons to recharge
  14. Look. I get the Quenneville hate. But we had Tortorella as well. We had Iron Mike Keenan. We've had some awful human beings as coaches. But if he got hired and took this team to the promised land his ignoring a sexual assault would be secondary in a hot minute. I am still not on the Maurice band wagon, I don't know why but it doesn't seem like a fit. Tocchett has some experience with management but he's one of the last hires I'd be happy about. I feel as though this is a good place for discussion because we have options. With Boudreaus age he won't be around for long and we don't know if we will see him back next year. My initial want was Gallant but NYR scooped him up. Options people, we have them for once.
  15. I know you're right. But 20+ years in the show and no success is my only sticking point
  16. But what has Maurice done? Look at the talent he had. He was given every possible tool to succeed and managed a 3rd round exit. A SCF berth with the Canes in the early 2000s. He is as good as anyone else on that list. I don't get the appeal myself
  17. He's not a rookie. He's coached in the SHL and for numerous worlds/medal events for team Sweden. He's actually coaches some pretty decent players in his time that made a splash in the nhl
  18. This is simple. Like super simple There's no guarantee Boudreau comes back. I and many feel he's more than earned the right. With his winning percentage to start the season we're in the playoffs. So let's just throw this out there. Who do you feel is available and why do you feel they'd be the best fit for the Canucks? I have a small list of potentials that I feel might work that I'll leave here. But let's start thinking of who is running this young team if Boudreau doesn't renew just in case. Rikard Gronberg, ZSC Lions. Lane Lambert, NYI assistant coach. Spencer Carberry, Hershey Bears. Mike Yeo, Philadelphia Flyers Interim. Jim Montgomery, available, former Stars coach. Dan Bylsma, available former Penguins coach. Mike Babcock, University of Saskatchewan. DJ Smith, Ottawa Senators. Joel Quenneville, available but..... There's genuine options out there and I don't think hiring the same coaches that haven't gotten it done in the league so far is the answer, I do feel that a few established vets would fit well and a few newer coaches also might fit in the long run. What are your thoughts???
  19. The moment you see Lammikko as your 2nd line centre you know full well what your team is lacking compared to the elite teams and where they're lacking.
  20. What's our boys status??? Any word on that LBI?
  21. Now that you've gotten that out of your system and are possibly sober and not whining. Take it to literally any one of the half dozen threads in Off-Topic because there's a lot to choose from. This is one of the only places we have to get away from this kind of discourse and it would be really nice to keep it that way. Well, I mean you're not wrong. But I'd rather not see this populating the prospects chat myself so I agree with you completely.
  22. No pamphlet, just know it happens in the first week of May or so. Hit your local BC liquor branch and ask about the date. I have a few hundred squirreled away for something special or two
  23. Ok Drunkle Happy Fingers....so now that Trudeau not only controls the media, the oil prices, housing prices, wages, inflation, pensions AND the war in Ukraine. Explain to us how he couldn't remove 300 pissed off rednecks in Ottawa sniffing Diesel fumes and rocking a bouncy castle. SUPER interested to hear about Schroedingers PM on that front
