[Discussion] College Free Agents
Warhippy replied to 86Viking's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Livingstone I presume? Hell yes to a big local RHD....if this is an option we have to see the team move on him. -
(Rumour) Habs planning to go big in Free Agency
Warhippy replied to RWJC's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Sign free agents. Suck to the trade deadline. Trade free agents on 1/2 years deals. Take picks and prospects back. Rinse repeat for 2-3 seasons. It's actually worked for a few teams in the hunt right now -

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Warhippy replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Was looking at the numbers. Tonight's win 8 points out of wild card and appears 5 points out if the division. Might be 3? I might have missed the math but looked like 5 still. -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Warhippy replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Miller has absolutely dominated this game. Critical, big game event. Shattering the Flames hopes for an 11th straight, franchise record; win He's a big game player obviously. I can't believe the bs offers thrown about for him, but at this point. He might as well stay a Canuck. Because after tonight we'll be 5 points out fo 3rd in our division and 8 points out of the wild card spot. While still a near statistical impossibility to even sniff the playoffs, every win against a divisional opponent is a massive climb up the standings. Making Miller more important to us than any of these pathetic offers. Even if ONLY in entertainment value by clawing our way to the middle -
It's so sad and unfortunate that we've paid out more in interest than the actual delivery of some of these items. I 100% agree with making and creating this industry within canada, but we've been waiting on these choppers since the 80s. So long now that had we taken delivery of them at the outset, we'd have already been seeking upgraded replacements....

[Speculation] Canucks exploring Tyler Myers trade
Warhippy replied to brian42's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
seems there's no definitive rumour to this, just a couple guys spitballing names. Who replaces Myers in our line up? What does our defense look like without him? The answer isn't pretty We're keeping him and his nmc/ntc ensures that -
I disagree whole heartedly with this, because it casts suspicions on the bands in the area. The idiocy NEED to blame someone and the most obvious is the land holders for the bands in the pipelines way. But. BIG ol But I can at least sympathize with people protesting for their own land rights, sovereignty and rights to development and protection of their own resources. I can understand people wanting to defend forests, water etc. I can't get behind a very small very vocal minority protesting about masks. This incident was bad, like really bad. It will only get worse as time goes on I believe.

We literally can't afford him. We don't need much in the way of LHD even if he is decent and cost controlled. It's almost a non starter because what they'd ask for we can't spend. 1st, 2nd. Klimovich. Podkolzin. Hoglander. Boeser without a contract isn't happening. Our European prospects.... Almost any of the other teams rumoured in on him can cough up more. Sorry all. It's a nice dream but...

[Rumour] Canucks interested in Andrei Kuzmenko
Warhippy replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Actually a very interesting scenario to consider. The socio-political aspect of a potential war with Ukraine/NATO couples with the knowledge that the 28 and under males in Russia will be automatically drafted would be a significant motivator for players looking to get out. This is without the US threats of a moratorium on Russian visas and travel -

Queue the "Tryamkin is coming home because we have Russians" rumours, comments and threads. Mostly kidding, I dunno much about this guy at all. Would be cool to get a free asset, seems to fit the age pool. But will also be fighting no less than 31 other teams for his attention. -
Just wanted to say thanks everyone. Have been meeting with my brothers and sister to figure things out. Mostly lurking since then because im an angry sort right now and bourbon isn't a good bandaid. won't get in to the covid end of things, but that's what got him. he had failing health and many underlying issues but he had years left in him, unfortunately covid exacerbated everything all at once and he couldn't hang through it. This is the problem with it. The thing nobody understands in their selfishness. I survived it. You survived it. Someone we care about, probably won't. In my case, didn't. There's no excuses or arguments about it just bare crappy facts. Thanks for the messages and everything, it is appreciated.

[PGT] Anaheim Ducks at Vancouver Canucks | Feb. 19, 2022

People going to be chiming in about the how, the why and the who. But 11 shots in 2 periods, 7 of them being incredibly low opportunity due to being pushed to the outside. Giving up the net front and half wall to forwards without pressure 5-5 and more importantly not pressuring that forecheck or standing it up has allowed the Ducks to just push the team in to a box they're afraid to try to break out of. A quick start and sustained pressure have effectively neutered the Nucks.

Covid got the old man last night. Had severe underlying health conditions but the covid exacerbated his copd and his heart couldn't take it. f**k all of these anti mask anti vaxx selfish jackholes. My dad and my cat in 4 days is not a good way to have the week end.

32 teams x 3 players on the 1st line is 96 players which puts him at the tail end of a 1st liner or what you'd expect a 1st liner to produce.
