  1. Strange. they indicate he;d be a first line player but don't think he's worth a 1st? Honestly Ty Smith doesn't stir the proverbial drink let alone get put in to the glass. Another small timid LHD is absolutely not what we should be looking at. I watched Severson play for years in kelowna and I love him. He's also not the gritty RHD we need but would be a decent complimentary piece and not a terrible addition in return for Garland. Age and cap are a bit of a concern although the cap washes out he is a UFA at the end of next year.
  2. Then he's not a guy who will be wearing a Habs jersey next season
  3. I get a double double and a signed pierre poutine 5x7
  4. Makes no sense. Why not just bring up Corronato? That's who we'd ask for in return for Garland I'd think
  5. Funny you should ask. He's the guy who stood side by side with Benning for many Boston drafts but he got/gets all the credit which is fascinating. So yes, as he's the vp and Hughes is the GM I believe a 1st is possible. Especially if we call him Garlande
  6. Nobody will ever be able to convince me MTL won't be drafting top 10 next year. That 1st would be massive
  7. Well funny you should ask. As the vaccines were created during Covid alpha and delta and were found to be almost universally effective at not only preventing transmission but also hospitalization I think they did remarbaly well. Omicron though being 30 times mroe infectious than delta completely screwed that, but low and behold it is still keeping people from being hospitalized vs those who are unvaxxed. Are you sure you're making the points you're trying to make? because again. You're wrong. Edit*. trudeau in no way pressured me from making this post
  8. Garland to MTL for a 2023 unprotected 1st round pick Come on Kent....make yer mark
  9. ok. So...nothing? I really don't think you're as correct as you think you are. You didn't prove anything. You posted a screen shot. I posted a half dozen links that detail exactly how health care works. if you think you made some sort of counter argument there that proved your statement you might belong in Ottawa pretending you're fighting for freedom right now and that those people waving flags are just trudeau plants and antifa because both are equally as intelligent
  10. See I am of a different mind. Losing him ensures we're drafting top 10 again this and possibly next year. We can get a couple extra 1st round picks out of the trades of Miller/Garland/Boeser if they do leave plus our own which allows us to possibly draft that centre to replace him. We would also be able to recoup potential prospects in areas we need now which would also free up those extra picks to get what we need. Miller is our best trade option and we'd be crazy not to try to maximize value for him. Alternatively, we try to trade Pettersson and keep Miller and Horvat and build a harder nosed grittier team. But I don't think Pettersson gets the same return as Miller or even close.
  11. And you...didn't prove your statement. I posted literally a half dozen links proving exactly who is in charge of provincial health care, how they are in charge and what role the federal government plays in provincial health care. I dunno what you think you proved but I think you may be mistaken sir.
  12. Which is factually true and why provinces created provincial health mandates including masks and vaccines as well as lockdowns and closures. Why is this hard to udnerstand?
  13. Every single time I point this out people lose their gd minds
  14. No such action took place or happened. The feds did not coerce or mandate the provinces do anything. There was zero imposition that occurred which can be found in the records of the house. I might also add that the business council tasked the feds and provinces to work together in which the feds simply said it's up to you guys. As it stands here is the full mandates per province/fed as of Jan 30th https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-mandatory-vaccination-canada-province-territory-policies-guide/ The federal government’s vaccine rules Public sector: Since Oct. 29, proof of vaccination has been mandatory for federal public servants and workers in federally regulated industries, such as banking. Anyone without proof, or an exemption on medical or religious grounds, has been put on unpaid leave. Domestic transport: Those travelling on cruise ships and VIA Rail trains have had to show either proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 tests since Oct. 30. International transport: Travellers looking to enter Canada, including Canadian citizens and permanent residents, must be fully vaccinated and show proof of negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) COVID-19 tests, taken no more than 72 hours before departing for Canada. If they have no such proof, authorities can’t prevent them from entering as long as they’re citizens, but they are required to self-isolate on arrival. Truck drivers used to be exempt from proof-of-vaccination and quarantine requirements, but as of January, they are not.
  15. Having Peterson on their to speak about climate change and about being "black" is like having an HVAC technician on to tell you about how best to pedicure your toes or perform open heart surgery
  16. The Canada Health care Act only ensures provinces must be above board and not shady regarding health care to recieve full transfers but ensures provinces control any and all measures within their borders. There's literally NOTHING Trudeau has power over. I might also add, since people seem to want to forget this. Trudeau is one man and not a president or power. He is the head of a party that is in and has been in a minority status for years now. How is one man responsible for everything when he doesn't even have a majority mandate and needs multi party support to be in charge of the nation? So Okie Doak, Trudeau has literally no say over provincial mandates. Only federal ones; borders; veterans and first nations. Nothing you can say changes that. https://www.osot.on.ca/OSOT/Advocacy/Health_Policy_in_Ontario/OSOT/Advocacy_Pages/Health_Policy_in_Ontario.aspx?hkey=07e19c16-fa68-4e4a-9ac3-86655d7519f6 https://www.commonwealthfund.org/international-health-policy-center/countries/canada#:~:text=Canada has a decentralized%2C universal,on a per-capita basis. https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/canada-health-care-system.html https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/canada-health-care-system.html https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/a-look-at-canada-s-vaccine-mandates-and-public-health-restrictions-1.5757218
  17. Watching Pat King beg for money, about $4k to get fuel in these trucks last night was amusing. Watching Chris Sky this morning tell people he was coming to help mobilize the troops was even better. Their playbook is to threaten, harass intimidate and then blame others for their issues. Day 2 still no word from Tamara Lch or their money.
  18. So to clarify. The single hottest trade piece in the league this year nets us a timid scoring winger and a 4-5 defenseman and then our only viable RHD gets traded for essentially nothing that will help us? I mean, I too like trading my work vehicle for a bicycle and a paddleboard but now I have to carry my tools to work
  19. If 9 people think it's ok to sit at a table with 1 nazi, you have a table of 10 nazis I had someone claim they had video proof of them running down the "one person with a nazi flag" and then posted me a tik tok about a rather scary looking woman in an apartment that claimed all of the bad guys at the event were liberal plants and trudeau hires. Turns out the person is an alberta citizen and there's literally zero video evidence of her actually having ever been in Ottawa. When I told him, dude...this video doesn't show anyone chasing down a nzai, it's just anecdotal statements and conspiracy theories about who was wving those flags. His response was to tell me to stop watching msm and open my eyes
  20. First off. No. Provincial governments control ALL provincial health mandates and spending/laws and health regs within their borders. ALL OF THEM. Pretending that the feds have any more involvement outside of cutting a cheque and transfers shows you're not understanding how our health system works which has been an issue since this started. Secondly, Your chart is entirely erroneous and details literally nothing. Who is in ICU? Why are they there? What is the cause? Has there been a reduction since covid in general issues? Has there been an increase due to covid? I can post a graph of 5 numbers as well but it won't mean anything without the corresponding information.
  21. I daresay we are at the Nashville stage from 2009-2018 where the aspects of the team that were good enough were good enough but there was ALWAYS 2 aspects missing that couldnt do it. In Nashvilles case, goaltending and defense were ok. Bottom 6 was solid. But no centres and no scoring wingers let alone scoring depth. We're good on goaltending. Scoring isn't an issue but our bottom 6 and defense need a ton of work
  22. There was. a protest in Ottawa a few years back protesting the death of a young person by police. They took over a few streets. Ottawa police forcibly destroyed their blockades and arrested numerous protestors. There used to be annual smoke ins for 4-20 and while generally tolerated ottawa police would snatch anyone forcibly who stepped off grounds on grounds of potential narcotics offenses The G8/G20 saw 20k cops and military in toronto and 8k cops/military in Ottawa called the J26 marches. People were forcibly rounded up and detained. There are clear and obvious rules in every province and city in the nation regarding who is and is not allowed to protest what.
  23. Whoa whoa whoa. You cant say that If you call them "these people" or "these kinds of folks" it's racist, and bigoted and it's wrong. If you haven't been p[aying attention it's only acceptable to use those terms with immigrants, people of less than beige persuasion, some lgbtq types. You know. Found that out the hard way when JT saying "these people" is outragoues because he's talking about the flu trucks klan, but Cherry saying it about immigrants is ok. I truly do hate facebook. So much
  24. When I was a teen I drank a ton of crappy cheap hooch. If it starts with a J you'll have an ugly time. Jack Daniels Jim Beam Johnny Walker JB Jamieson All lower grade stuff that will kill your taste buds. But then one day you try something new. You taste hints of caramel, a note of apple. Your kids suddenly don't suck so much and your partner looks as pretty as she did the day you met her. Well, at that point you've drank to much but you've found out about Whiskey
  25. Then people should be protesting at their provincial capitals. 8 of our governments are in fact Conservative. I cannot believe that so many right wing governments are stealing peoples freedoms from them
