[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Warhippy replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
If I am speaking to Colorado my ask starts with Byram and their 1st. Miller and if they could add him, Kane would make them the unequivocal threat for a cup win. Barring their goaltending of course which would still be suspect. -
That is factually incorrect and you can not for one second provide evidence that medical professionals in Canada have been stripped of their licenses or threatened for simply prescribing Ivermectin. So please start posting statements WITH evidence that this is ALL they were doing to have been threatened with the loss of their medical license. Because (and this is important) Medical professionals in Canada do not lose their licenses for something as simple as that.

You're absolutely not wrong. There's about a dozen things truckers could and rightfully SHOULD protest about their industry before vaxx status for x border runs even makes it on to the radar
-
Just pointing out the obvious
-
For this to happen or work, the NYR and or Tamp/Carolina would need to make a significant move. With Carolina/Tamp and NYR being rumoured to possibly be kicking tires on Chychrun I could see this being a knee jerk move if Ruhterford pressured them hard enough

23 posts. Many involve statements about social justice and other hot button buzzwords. Then BEELINES it for the covid thread. not fishy at all.

Unfortunately you'd be wrong. Nobody is dumping on truckers. People are dumping on the falsehood of a freedom convoy. Truckers are essential and i'd stand up for a trucker as fast as I would a health care worker or 15 year old grocery clerk. The organizer of this "protest" has bamboozled thousands due to her being able to play off of fear and emotions. Truckers definitely need more help because without them we starve. But these protests have people convinced that if enough truckers go to ottawa that Trudeau will rescind provincial health mandates and the one at the border for entry back in to canada as a commercial hauler. But, and here's the thing. Commercial haulers can not even enter the USA without having the EXACT same vaxx status as you would need to re-enter Canada as a commercial hauler. Trudeau has zero power over provincial mandates. Essentially this idiot from the maverick party and her rather troubling views on protecting the white anglo saxxon rule in Canada has convinced the ignorant that enough people can change that; and that trudeau can also change the US requirements. Nobody is dumping on truckers, but we're certainly questioning people's intelligence.

Of course they will. Apparently hundreds of thosuands of trucks are moving slowly to ottawa not delivering food. So that's trudeaus fault. He's a power player

SO in 2019 the yellow vest movement started a gofundme to have truckers go to Ottawa. The money raised never got given to the people it was meant to. Fast forward to today where the Maverick Party secretary organized yet another gofundme and last nighty released a missive stating that nobody will be guaranteed a dollar of the nearly $5 million raised. This morning Gofundme froze her account demanding transparency and proof the money will go to who it is earmarked for. The funny part...it's the same person that was behind the 2019 gofundme as well. https://infotel.ca/newsitem/trucker-convoys-4-million-in-fundraising-frozen-by-gofundme/it88556?fbclid=IwAR3jMRSSSWh2S_GsgIYMg5E7aj-c2GPHQvuqEjcINpZ3TzfsOmwFaFDFDiw

Shelves empty Food prices rising. Fuel running out. Fuel prices rising. Inflation hits new highs on fuel/food prices. .....f@#$+*g Trudeau it's all his fault
-
It's actually shockingly equal among the provinces. But the amount of $$ raised is SERIOUSLY questionable. I recall them doing this before and the money kind of never went to anyone who needed it or was promised their costs would be covered. One of the go fund me individuals is actually a very highly placed person in Alberta's maverick party and I'll be dollars to donuts that some of this money ends up going to that party
-
My actual 2 questions to this are Even IF magically the feds can change the laws and rescind provincial mandates. What about the US that has the exact same vaxx laws for commercial drivers? Secondly. Who will people complain to or about when the shelves at grocery stores are empty and prices skyrocket again because an alleged 150k+ truckers aren't doing their jobs?
-
Meanwhile. Truckers across the nation are driving to Ottawa to oppose provincial health mandates. Because they still believe the feds are behind all this and that Ottawa can dictate provincial health rules.... they also are protesting the need to be vaxxed as a commercial trucker to re-enter Canada after picking up cargo from the US. Without EVER mentioning that to even enter the US as a commercial driver you need....to be vaccinated to begin with maybe what should have been done, instead of vaccines and masks; is a gd mandated series of educational upgrades for the idiots who still don't know how our system of governance works. How equalization works and who is charge of what in Canada. because I'll tell ya, the biggest loss over the last two years for me is the belief that our nation was and is smarter than our southern neighbors

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Warhippy replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
But there has been a multi page argument about how horvat and boeser are not the same as miller so we'd be trading both for the return miller would net us It's at a point where we have to maximize the value of one of Boeser or Miller -
Oh no The same people that boycotted Taylor swift, Starbucks and Nike are now threatening to boycott Carhartt while listening to Taylor swift walking in their Nikes to get a starbucks

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks

The last time we traded a player like him we saw Bertuzzi coming back. My mindset is that if he is unwilling to sign under a viable deal $7 million or less he's unaffordable or we're trading multiple assets for less of a return to compensate. If there's a trade of the 1st, top prospect and solid roster player available for him or something there in. You make the deal if he refuses to commit to a decent contract. That's the fear. Next year he's still valuable. But what if he gets injured? Or covid gets him? This club has a history of that kind of luck and you don't temp the universe -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Warhippy replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Miller: Our best asset for trades and maxed return. Expiring next year on a very friendly contract Almost 29 Will command $8+ million in his next contract without question. My question, and it's important. A team like ours with a long, decades long history of watching assets if this nature walk away for nothing, can it afford to run that same risk with Miller in this instance? With where this team is and where it still needs to travel to be where it's a contender, can we run the risk of not trading him? Simple question. My option would be to offer him a high dollar value short term contract, 1-2 years extension if we intend to keep him and just trade him at some point regardless. If he WANTS to be here, he'll have to take a shorter term deal or one with a longer term lower cap. This is his retirement deal coming up. Can we afford it? Can we risk losing him for nothing? If both those answers are no....
