  1. The issue with ones perceived version or view of reality is that it invariably looks or seems delusional to others. especially when voicing or claiming traumatic issues they've never once had to experience in their lives To sum up, you're version of reality is delusional, selfish and far from realistic.
  2. Bingo. At days end, it's people's selfishness and laziness/apathy that continues to drive this. In July we here in the interior were screaming to ban/stop non essential travel from Alberta after the Alberta government threw open the doors and allowed everything to happen during the Delta strain. We begged for it to be locked down at the provincial borders but were told it would be fine. 2 weeks after Stampede the first major cases turned up in the Okanagan/interior region and Peachland north got locked down hard in the first week of August because of it. Why? Because while some of us did everything we were asked, we allowed others who followed different rules and had different beliefs to come and essentially destroy the hard work we'd put in. I saw a younger woman a week or so ago sauntering through a grocery store without a mask and the one person who asked her to put one on was just screamed at. Nobody bothered her after and she just continued on her way. Orchard park mall 2 days ago in Kelowna, packed. maybe...MAYBE 50/50 for masks with zero oversight or enforcement. At days end it's on people, not government. The governing bodies have laid down mandates, restrictions, guidelines. They've paid out the nose to keep people home/safe and businesses open. But every successive wave seems to come on the backs of the selfish. The most recent restrictions about Christmas/new years gatherings will be ignored like it was last year. I expect by the ned of the first week of January we'll see hospitalizations increased, and case numbers at or around 2k a day every day consistently. Why? Because screw the guidelines, I wanted to see my friends/family, go to the pub etc
  3. No, the government has basic regulations for fitness facilities but it's more of a make money certification series of programs than any sort of actual oversight. Voluntary boards and groups/councils but no actual government body. I'm less mad about gym closures/our gym closing than I am about the wishy washy half arsed efforts that are simply confusing people and seem punitive towards business owners in certain industries. Either do it right, do it all or don't do it at all.
  4. I am. afirst nations individual. I have suffered true racism and segregation. Because of the way my face looks. Because the colour of my skin shows me to be not quite native, not quite caucasian. I have been ostracized by both tribe and town growing up. Your pathetic and truly selfish statement about segregation is not only sad but also entirely childish. I can't take a shot to change how I look. As a kid I would have lined up for it just to be included. EVERYTHING about this is a choice. It's not coercion, it's not forced and it's not segregation. There IS no second class of citizen at all. You make this statement and it takes away from the very true and very real issues of racism and prejudice in our country/world right now and it needs to stop. You and anyone on the anti vaxx side have a choice. Always have. We, the people who look like me based on our ancestry, based on our country of origin. The people we choose to love. Our orientation or how we identify don't. We don't get a choice, we don't get to avoid the bigotry and selfishness of the intolerant by taking a shot that has been proven by sheer volume to be far more safe than not getting it. Grow the **** up and give your head a shake. Edit**. I might add, that 10% you indicate, are the same 10% that when this started were absolutely ok with and demanding everything stay open and only those at risk be locked down. Now they're the most at risk of hospitalization and have a choice to end that but won't. That again, is not only ironic. But also; not segregation.
  5. You mean Alberta west? Surrey by the lake? I mean....
  6. and THIS is the issue There IS mandates, and rules. But nobody is following them because there is no oversight or enforcement The half arsed closures did nothing to stop this as we see. The next 2 weeks will show it won't be schools or gyms driving the increase in infections and then they'll lock things down further. They could have done it right the first time but instead waved a hand at it and told people to behave. It's getting to be more than frustrating. It's downright insulting as a business owner that we keep getting slapped by restrictions but others aren't. We turn out to not be the sources of transmission but we till get the closure orders. My studio is closed. MY gym is closed. But I can sit maskless back to back with the picnic table crowd at my fave brewery and complain about it over a dozen beer so there's that
  7. It's not about being favoured at all. I pay ridiculous attention to detail. It's my job. MY favourite pub locally is blown away by how little they actually have to change anything. I posted a photograph about a dozen pages back showing what it will look like. 6 to a table, no changes made in table spacing. No need to ensure you are sitting next to strangers or not, and once seated masks off. 34 tables. average of 1 hour per turnover time per table. Almost 2k people in a day if a full day. You HAVE to wear masks everywhere. But nobody is or does. I walk in to safeway and see these maskless idiots flaunting the fact that the 17 year old bag boy isn't saying a word to them. This goes for malls and stores in general. People either not wearing masks or only wearing them around their lips. I am upset because like I stated about 300 pages ago about the vaxx passport, this is being loaded on the backs of front line staff who are absolutely sick of it all and don't have the power to do anything about it. This should have been an outright full stop circuit breaker, not whatever attempt at putting out a fire with a glass of water it is in more than just appearance.
  8. No enforcement at malls when people aren't wearing masks. I had to grab something yesterday and saw first hand. Zero enforcement. Once seated at a table or slot machine you can in fact drop the mask in casinos so long as there is what us deemed "sufficient distance" between you and the next person. Again, not enforced to any significant degree. I have a friend who just took a leave of absence from cascade casinos because she felt it was so unsafe among an older population who refuses to do anything differently I believe without question schools will be closed again. I find the restrictions to be completely pathetic and totally biased to the point of worthlessness
  9. Agreed. Thrilled to know I can hit up a casino, shop endlessly in malls without a mask on for boxing week deals and then sit maskless in a pub with other drunken spitting maskless strangers while my kids miss yet more essential time in education and around their peers.
  10. I am fuming over the back to school thing. I don't disagree with a circuit breaker. I also don't disagree with further restrictions where necessary. BUT I vehemently disagree that gyms should be closed but I can go to a casino and share a seat unmasked next to a stranger at a poker table or slot machine. I am am appalled that I can sit maskless in a pub, restaurant or the like next to multiple other tables of strangers. Seeing the mobs, the absolute masses of people without masks on, or masks on improperly in the lead up to Christmas in malls and stores and on boxing day without ay actual oversight or care for distancing made my skin crawl. I say this as a person who is an assistant manager at a local fitness facility who disagrees with the random lockdowns that are at best halfarsed and entirely unenforced. I say this as a parent knowing that gyms and schools will NOT be the source of the mass transmission we have and will continue to see over the next two weeks. I say this knowing full well schools will most likely be mandated to stay closed through much of January costing my daughters yet another series of months of missed education and socialization while the same maskless idiots crowd casinos, pubs and stores and complain about Bonnie Henry and Trudeau being nazis I just have no clue anymore wtf the government is doing but as a business owner, a person who helps manage another small business and a father I am confused, I am angry and I am fed up with all of these half arsed measures that are missing the marks entirely and have literally no teeth and seem far more punitive and reactionary than they are based on sound science or policy
  11. if only 10-15 people a day end up in the hospital from this volume of new cases it will be 100 new ICU patients within a week then more and more and more. The hopes of people listening or keeping away from family/shopping over the last 4 days or even through new years is an absolute joke By Jan 15-18 we'll see how bad this really gets. With luck...LUCK it is in fact mild and we see less than 5 people per day in the hospital from it, which is still alarming but I'm done being hopeful
  12. Make up your mind. Is it a danger to only the elderly, or is it mild? You're deliberately ignoring the argument and shifting the goalposts like mad to avoid having a serious conversation about it. But I will try to simplify it with rough numbers. ROUGH, made up not scientific, just for example only Covid saw say 1 in 10 get infected. Of that 1 in 50 ended up in the hospital Delta saw 3 in 10 get infected. Of that 8 of 50 ended up in the hospital Omicron is seeing 7-10 get infected. Of that 3 in 50 end up in the hospital If Omicron is in fact that much more virulent that literally thousands or tens of thousands are getting infected, than by sheer volume we'll see case numbers rise in the hospitals. We've had this argument, and now data IS in fact showing that it is potentially more mild of a strain but it is STILL hospitalizing people. More infections, more cases. More cases more hospitalizations. Make sense or?
  13. For the simple minded types that drag out the vaccines don't work, vaccinated people get covid chestnut A reminder
  14. How is that possible? You said omicron was only a cold. Colds don't kill people. Unless... you're admitting covid is infact a serious health threat. The 27.8 unvaccinated to 1.3 vaccinated ratio of hospitalized people disagree with you about the efficacy of the vaccine though
  15. If trading Miller nets us a modern Bertuzzi McCabe 3rd rounder (Ruutu) You pull that trigger yesterday. That's what trading Linden got us. Bertuzzi: 770 points most of which with the Nucks. One of the most feared PWFs in the modern era McCabe net us the Sedins as one of the greatest trades in NHL history, but was also a norris calibre defenceman in his prime Ruutu..I mean we all know the gif. He became one of the better bottom 6 players this team has ever drafted Hell yes do that trade
  16. So serious question. I need to stop my wife from forcing me to do something. I have 7 wine boxes full of whiskey/bourbon. 74 total bottles. I know that they will not freeze unless they are exposed to consistent 25- temps. But she wants me to put them outside in the carport. Carport is covered in, mildly insulated so maybe a 5-7 degree difference between outside and inside of it. Besides a viscosity change, what if any are the dangers of my storing my whiskey in the garage during this cold? I live in Penticton and it's -16 right now. So maybe -10 in the carport. Everything I am reading says colder is better than hotter and to stay consistent and it won't affect it much. Anyone have experience in this??
  17. Have been on the fence but I'm willing to try!
  18. What is skewed on that data? Don't move the goal posts. Experts have been saying the exact same thing since this started. Vaccinated people can spread this. Social distancing and masks help. The vaccine keeps you out if the hospital and from the worst effects of covid. As for long term health effects, an estimated 32 MILLION people of the 235 million infected are suffering long term health effects. How about that gem? But yes be afraid of 100k possible serious adverse reactions from almost 7 BILLION injections? Again, what data is skewed? As for the bolded...I mean
  19. Shouldn't you be screaming at veterans at a cenotaph or parents and kids at a vaxx clinic? Get over yourself. Your argument is tragic and completely backwards and I hope you didn't throw a shoulder trying to pat yourself on the back. Infections happen. Hospitalizations have ALWAYS been the marker that mattered and it's 27.2 to 1.3 in terms of vaxxed to unvaxxed hospitalizations in BC which just shows how utterly you missed the mark. Merry Christmas champ
  20. I suggest these 4 for the $125 and under price point. I don't do the Nikka coffee. But the from the barrel and super rare are great. The Hibiki Harmony, great. Matsui!!!!! Very great If You want to spoil yourself on a Japanese whiskey, go to a Jaks liquor location or somewhere not the BC liquor and get the white oak. It's amazing
  21. My wife ...thinks they're like $30 a bottle Shhhh
