  1. Porter, the person behind this all was actually very chummy with Harper and the Conservatives. Any mediocre politician should be able to spin this as a we issue not a me issue
  2. Injury issues are and were very real. he only played in 30 games last year plus 12 playoff games. His statements post season about not being sure he can play anymore sure didn't turn anyone on either.
  3. This belief that benning doesn't know how to trade, gives away all the picks. Targeted sub par defensemen holds so little water it's laughable. The I hate Benning crowd COULD have legitimate gripes but instead keep parroting the same erroneous complaints without much basis of fact. Up to and including having someone argue over the fact that an opinion is not evidence or fact
  4. Sbisa leaves and becomes a .5 ppg player in Vegas. Gudbranson was a solid player in Florida and Benning was magically wrong for thinking that might translate to here. You and the I told ya so crowd knew of course right away that their previous histories would have no bearing here in Vancouver and just hated the trades. Luckily Benning inherited 3 decent defenseman but also was in no way responsible for drafting Hughes that was just tank magic. But keep spinning the past to suit your stance Edit. lol.
  5. It's their first actual year with a dearth of home picked home grown prospects really so I'm giving them a large pass
  6. I need to start lurking more and posting less.
  7. By that note Petterson should be asking for a trade any time now because Dahlen is gone. Right?
  8. Palmu spoke to the organization with his agent they decided that Europe was his best option for playing time as the kids in utica are on a low ice time rotation game in game out. Tryamkin never played in Utica. Rodin couldn't stay healthy and when he did was a defensive liability. Try harder, pick through that "mountain of wreckage" you claim JB has created and find something else
  9. So cull is a joke because he's asking players to play the system this team and organization has been building for years and instead of stepping up like a professional when your coach says you need to adjust he didn't And that's Culls fault? Sounds to me like everyone else was buying in to the system. Sautner, Gaudette, MAcEwen etc. Palmu as well but spoke to the org and asked if Europe would be the better option, which was facilitated for him. Dahlen not progressing like Dahlen wanted sounds more like an issue with Dahlen than a coach who has a full team of guys that he has to be responsible for.
  10. He didn't just walk. There was consultation between the org and him as well as his agent and for playing time they all decided europe was the better option. Why do people say things like this when there's the real story that is easily found like 7 pages back
  11. barely 13 spots. in the 6th and 7th round...plus we got a serviceable NHL player out of it. Anaheim got a pick. You're really trying to reach for it I'll give ya that
  12. You're aware this is literally the first year that our prospects have hit Utica right? There's 2 full drafts behind them that will enter Utica over the next 2-3 seasons. There are also a number of players finally entering the bigs as well. Depth doesn't happen because you draft a player and boom he';s ready. Put down the controller son this aint NHL 19 it takes time. 5 years ago he took over with nothing. 4 years ago he took some youth and traded it across for NHL youth 3 years ago he kept a few but traded across 2 years ago he drafted and kept it Last year he drafted and kept it. This is all part of the overall game plan. it doesn't happen over night and you have to really have that fast food instant gratification mentality to not see that. Our time to seriously start contending starts with a bubble finish next year either just in or outside of the playoffs. 2 years from now is when that youth and depth really becomes noticeable in Utica and Vancouver. Hoping for, complaining over or stating otherwise just shows a person is absolutely clueless. adding Byram, Newhook, Kayilev, Kako, Hughes or any of this years top 10 will only help. Stop looking at the scoreboard and demanding instant gratification from it.
  13. Anaheim got more? St Louis 6th will be about 13 spots before the 7th we got. We also got a depth defenceman who will probably be just as liable defensively as Gudbranson is which is in fact. MORE than what Anaheim got for MDZ. Also, wtf kind of person defends any trade regarding MDZ? That's the hill you choose to die on? So...you can LOL all you want, but you're effectively laughing at your own stupidity now and it's ok to do that because we all are. Benning made some solid trades with what he had available last year, this year and more. In 5 years took a team with aging vets against the cap with literally the worst prospect depth in the league to one of the youngest teams in the league, with over $21 million in cap space and arguably a top 3 prospect pool the likes of which includes depth this team has literally never had. But yay you, you made a comment.
  14. I'd laugh if you were ever right. but instead I laugh because you approach your keyboard without thought, fact or basis
  15. 18 years old and had a nice long stint in the SHL recording a point and being a positive player according to that bio. Really intriguing honestly. Now barely 19 and playing in a mens league again and doing decent by any standards. Time will tell but I'm not upset at this at all Here's his draft breakdown and numbers Karlsson led the SuperElit, the Swedish junior league, in goal scoring. He also finished second in points behind only Jonatan Berggren, a Detroit second rounder some had ranked in the first. Karlsson got into 13 games for the SHL’s Karlskrona HK, he only posted a single assist but just playing in the SHL is a positive for an 18 year old player. Karlsson is an offensive player, he possesses a good shot, good hands and he has the size that won’t hurt his chances of developing into an NHLer. Accomplishments/Awards: 2017-2018 J20 SuperElit (Forts) Most Goals (14) J20 SuperElit (Forts) Most Points (27) J20 SuperElit (Overall) Most Goals (27) J20 SuperElit Best Forward Draft breakdown as per Canucks Army: So, let’s talk about some of these crazy numbers and I’ll get to the standard boxcar stats below. His involvement percentage of 41.6% is crazy good for any player and unless I am mistaken, is the highest of the 100 players we have ranked. The high percentage is common with players in the SuperElit as the really good players stand out but was still ~5% higher than a prospect like Dominik Bokk. Another number that jumps of the page is the GF%REL of +24.9% – which shows that when Karlsson wasn’t on the ice, the Karlskrona J20 team was struggling. His personal GF% isn’t great but given that his team had a -36 goal differential and the GF%Rel and INV% is so strong, it indicates that the offence was going through Karlsson and if he wasn’t on the ice, they weren’t scoring. His shot generation was through the roof and all of his stats are in the upper percentiles. He saw in a dip in his GF% in the middle part of the season but then slowly climbed as he consistently put up points. His icetime just increased as the season went along as the coaching staff clearly were riding his offensive production and play. The GF% and GFREL% stuck out to me as being odd, as how can a player with good but not extraordinary GF% have such a drastic difference when compared to his teammates. The raw numbers for Karlsson at 5v5 play this season were: With him on the ice: 59% (+42/-29) With him on the bench: 34% (+37/-71) Just reinforces how much of an impact the draft-eligible centre had on the offence of the Karlskrona J20 team. Karlsson mostly played with Schreiber, Nordstrand and Henbrant at 5v5 and they were the only ones to not get destroyed while on the ice:

  17. Well THAT'S an interesting trade. Can anyone with more info on the Euro leagues chime in on whether or not that production is comparable to Dahlens? Also. Omg Benning did a thing let's hate it!!
  18. HF boards and some CDC personalities: Trade Gudbranson for anything omg what a bad trade that was. Trades Gudbranson for a needed LW HF Boards and some CDC personalities: Omg that's it, that's all he got? He's the worst GM ever. Couldn't even get Malkin for Gudbranson
  19. That's what I expected Stone to go for. A bit of an over payment but they got what they wanted and he's a big big boy. Think he's got 1 year left as an RFA too?
  20. Guessing we lost a game again? The kids always get worked up when their team doesn't do the sportsing like they want
  21. What IS the actual knock on Newhook? His 2 years so far project him as a bit of a stud, producing Jost type numbers in the same league but as a winger. Is it just the league he's in?
  22. Right next to Tryamkins parents and Gaboriks place I'm sure
  23. Panarin has Vancouver free amongst markets in Canada, geographically miles closer to Russia. Panarin interested in Vancouver Vancouver has great bakeries. Panarin is called Bread man. People eat bread. Panarin to Vancouver confirmed
