Just a quick question. How do you tax another country for their development? If these businesses were so concerned they'd understand exactly why that isn't so. If they were so concerned they'd be asking "if they're getting a price break why are their distributors increasing their prices" But they're not...so

Well...turns out that True Dough was right... I want everyone to remember that the former government did NOT do meetings of this nature, everything was scripted and ALL questions were vetted and only allowed to be asked by approved candidates. I know, I was at 2 of their events in the Okanagan covering for local media.... True Dough was right, this woman only wanted to push a narrative of racism, to make True Dough look dumb and she successfully got Canada's Conservative politicians to support her doing it http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/tranlation-transcription-trudeau-heckler-video-1.4793229 DIANE BLAIN: When will you give back the $146 million to Quebec? I'd like your response. I'm a senior, and I'd like a response. JUSTIN TRUDEAU: Madam, thank you for being here this evening, thank you very much for your support. I'm very happy to have you here. You ask what we can deliver for seniors. Madam, we delivered an increase in the guaranteed income supplement of $1,000 per month, by $1,000 per year, for seniors on their own, the most vulnerable. MALE HECKLER (repeatedly): We are not in Mohawk territory. BLAIN: That's not what I asked you. We need the $146 million for Quebecers. TRUDEAU: We invested billions of dollars for the Canada Child Benefit, which makes an enormous difference in the lives of families around the province and the country. BLAIN: We're asking you for the $146 million for Quebecers that you gave to illegal immigrants. TRUDEAU: Madam, one of the things that is important, madam, in politics is to listen. My friends, it is listening that counts. We are in dialogue. MALE HECKLER (repeatedly): We are not in Mohawk territory. BLAIN: But you are not answering me. TRUDEAU: Sir, you are in the course of saying things that are anti-Indigenous, it isn't very nice, it isn't very polite. BLAIN: Answer me. TRUDEAU: We are here to share, to dialogue, I am looking forward to listening to you. BLAIN: Answer me, Mr. Trudeau. TRUDEAU: On the condition that you listen to me now, madam. You have something to say, madam? Go ahead. BLAIN: Answer me, I want to know when you will give us back the $146 million that we paid for your illegal immigrants. TRUDEAU: OK, madam. BLAIN: It's us who paid for that. TRUDEAU: This intolerance regarding immigrants does not have a place in Canada. This intolerance of diversity, you do not have a place here. (Cheering) BLAIN: Hey. Trudeau. Trudeau. TRUDEAU: Madam, Canada was built by waves of immigration that were welcomed by the First Nations, who showed us how to build a strong society, and the people who come here, generation after generation to build stronger communities, this is what makes us stronger as a country and, madam, your intolerance does not have a place here. MAN OFF CAMERA: Yes, she's making threats. Get her out of here. MAN IN WHITE SHIRT, BLACK VEST: Are you making threats? TRUDEAU: We are Liberals here, we know that diversity is a source of strength, never a source of weakness and madam, your fear, your fear of others, your intolerance does not have a place among us tonight. Thank you very much, my friends. Thank you for being here, thanks for working hard and uniting people because we see that there will be intolerance in the coming months. There will be attacks in the coming months. BLAIN: I have another question. TRUDEAU: But you must know that strength is to unite and not to scream, not to spread fear, not to spread intolerance, madam. BLAIN (repeatedly): Are you tolerant of Québécois de souche [white French Quebecers]? MALE HECKLER (repeatedly): We are not in Mohawk territory. TRUDEAU: Yes madam, I am tolerant of all perspectives, it is you, madam, who is intolerant, and you don't have a place in this beautiful gathering of Liberals. Thank you, friends. (Cheering. Trudeau descends from stage and begins shaking hands with people in the crowd.) BLAIN: Have you spread intolerance towards Québécois de souche? PERSON IN CROWD: [Swearing] Shut up, damn it. BLAIN: Go ahead and give your hand to this Trudeau. WOMAN IN CROWD: No, but it's enough, really. (Crosstalk) WOMAN IN CROWD: She's going in there. (Blain approaches Trudeau.) BLAIN: Mr. Trudeau are you tolerant of Québécois de souche? What is a Québécois de souche? Québécois de souche refers to descendants of the original French colonists who settled in New France in the 17th and 18th centuries. It excludes Quebecers of non-French heritage, such as descendants of British colonists, recent immigrants and Indigenous peoples. TRUDEAU (repeated three times): Madam, your racism has no place here. BLAIN: Answer me. You have no place in Quebec. Do you understand? You have no place in Quebec. TRUDEAU: Excuse me, madam. I'm a proud Quebecer, madam, I'm a proud Quebecer. (Shaking hands) TRUDEAU: Thank you, it's lovely to see you. (Trudeau continues shaking hands, cameraman leaves crowd and joins Blain who is being questioned.) CAMERAMAN: Look at what they're doing with the woman. Look at what they're doing. OFFICER WITH BASEBALL CAP: Do you have a piece of ID with you? BLAIN: No. OFFICER WITH BASEBALL CAP: Now you're going to come with me. BLAIN: No. OFFICER WITH BASEBALL CAP: Now come with me. BLAIN: Let me go, you're hurting me.... Let me go, look I'll bruise. (Crosstalk) CAMERAMAN: She wasn't threatening anyone. She just wanted to speak. BLAIN: I wasn't threatening anyone. I have the right to express my opinion to Mr. Trudeau. Let me go. Did you understand me? Let me go. CAMERAMAN: You have no authority to hold this woman, you have no authority. BLAIN: Hey, you gave me a bruise, look. (Another man approaches, wearing a badge.) (Inaudible) BLAIN: What happened? Well, I just asked Mr. Trudeau some questions, that's all. OFFICER WITH BADGE: And then what happened? CAMERAMAN: She has the right to her opinion. BLAIN: You don't have to arrest me because I asked questions. OFFICER WITH BADGE: You're absolutely right. OFFICER WITH BASEBALL CAP: Do you have a piece of ID on you? BLAIN: No, I don't, leave me alone, that's twice you've asked me. OFFICER WITH BASEBALL CAP: What is your name? BLAIN: You won't know, I don't want... OFFICER WITH BASEBALL CAP: I'm a police officer, ma'am. CAMERAMAN: What is the number of your badge, we want to have it. OFFICER WITH BASEBALL CAP: 62945. I'm a police officer (inaudible) with the RCMP, ma'am, I'm not finished with you. BLAIN: Yeah, but I'm finished, because you hurt me. Hey. You hurt me. Look at the bruise you gave me. MAN IN CROWD: We're witnessing the freedom of expression in Quebec. (Blain is approached by officer again.) BLAIN: I had the right to ask a question to Mr. Trudeau and he calls me intolerant, it's him who is intolerant with the Québécois de souche. OFFICER WITH BADGE (inaudible) You're excited. BLAIN: Oh no, I'm hysterical, I'm a woman. A man who says his opinion has balls but a woman who expresses her opinion is hysterical. Leave me alone. (Blain walks away from officer.) CAMERAMAN: You only talked, you didn't make any threats. BLAIN: No, but, hey Mario. (inaudible) Yes, you didn't hear me? A crowd of police officers arrested me and look he gave me a bruise.

Well the facts are that while the previous government said it would be tough on tax cheats...it instead gave corps and the wealthy tax breaks and then slashed funding to CRA. It is hard to be impactful when he government takes away your ability to fund investigations and changes laws to ensures that offshore cheats cannot be readily brought to justice. I am not saying the true Dough Government is any better but I don't see them slashing funds at CRA while claiming to be tough on tax frauds Three-quarters of the CRA tax professionals surveyed also agreed with the claim that "multinational corporations shift profits to low-tax regions even when there is little to no corresponding economic activity taking place in that jurisdiction." The PIPSC report on the poll blames the tax system's flaws on staff cuts in 2012 by the former Conservative government of Stephen Harper, which at the time was trimming spending across departments to eliminate the deficit. The Liberal government has since restored some of that funding, notably directing new money to collecting tax debts and chasing more offshore tax dodgers. But the union said there remains an annual budget shortfall of $500 million compared with funding levels in 2012. The result, said the union, has been fewer auditors, less training and outmoded technology — and a CRA failing to keep pace with agile tax lawyers, accountants and consultants in the private sector.

I read that. her EX husband was shot to death while with his new spouse. SHE is pissed her KIDS didn't get a call or message from the PM before the families and serving members of the two officers that died. SHE thinks Trudeau believes they are more special than her kids. Well news flash toots. Those RCMP officers were more important than you or your kids. So you called the PM a name because you were upset you feel you were snubbed? Great, I expect now that you believe the PM will have to call every single victim and surviving family member of a victim of gun violence in Canada right? Anything for 15 minutes of fame I guess.

Has the Western World Lost Moderate/Centrist Politics?

And this is what happens when every idiot that is barely capable of reading or conducting any argument past internet memes they don't understand gets to vote But hey....nice hair though -
I'm also in the camp that Dahlin will not live up to the amount of hype heaped on him. Although playing along side Mittlestadt, Reinhardt, Skinner, Eichel, Rsitolainen will not harm his numbers at all People keep comparing him to Lidstrom and Karlsson, but those are going to be two of the top 10 defensemen of all time when everything is said and done. I really do feel now as I did 4 months ago that while I dearly wanted Dahlin on our team that he might not be the best defenseman of the draft. Would be nice if it was Hughes for sure
-
We'll draft another Hughes this coming summer. The entire country will hate Vancouver as Hughes Boeser Hughes Demko dominates Team Canada for years and when they're not Petterson Dahlen will be doing the damage instead leaving Team Canada starter DiPietro looking like a modern day folk hero for stopping 72 shots in a game to win gold for the Canadian Olympic team against the US

Has the Western World Lost Moderate/Centrist Politics?
Warhippy replied to Rob_Zepp's topic in Off-Topic General
Todays political theater is essentially Soccer Fandom in the UK s You can be left (man u) You can be right (man city) But you cannot sit and cheer for just your city. I launched in to a massive long winded explanation of the evils of both parties and the idiocy that supports them. But there is no point. Their history is common knowledge and easy to find. In the west and in western democracies you cannot have centrists anymore because the media, the people and the ruling elite refuse to allow it to happen. A centrist is a person who has yet to be labeled for their actions and it is stupid. To many willing to villify a person without looking at their actions. You're either left or right. Black or white. There is no grey anymore and people will not let you cheer for your home. -

@Ghostsof1915 The NHL may be finished with him, but he hasn't gotten the memo. Only just 3 months ago he said he wanted to return.

Then we can get the Sedins to unretire and we can finally have that Sedin-Sedin-Jagr line I was first fantasizing heavily about circa 2010-12.

Just remember. CPL for clouds and forests/shade with broken shadows. Always helps. Can also be very effective with reflections and water. Love testing new things

Seriously if these specs are accurate and that EVF is true this camera will be making serious headway. Don't forget Nikon already had a very solid mirrorless camera that they essentially let rot in the Nikon 1 https://www.techradar.com/news/more-rumored-specs-for-nikons-new-mirrorless-cameras

Nikon rumours released for their new mirrorless line. Looks damned impressive and if the price point is correct will be about 8% higher than the current specs for Sonys mirrorless leaders. https://nikonrumors.com/2018/07/03/first-set-of-rumored-specifications-for-the-nikon-mirrorless-cameras.aspx/ Note that I said "cameras" in the title - yes, Nikon is coming up with two mirrorless cameras. Here are the specs that I believe are correct (some numbers could be slightly off or rounded): Two mirrorless cameras: one with 24-25MP and one with 45MP (48MP is also a possibility). I assume both cameras are full frame (I did not get a specific confirmation on that). Similar body size to the Sony a7 camera but with better ergonomics and a better grip. 5-axis in-body stabilization 9fps New mirrorless mount. We already knew that, but the number I was given this time is 55mm. The Z-mount dimensions I reported a few months ago were 49mm for the actual opening and 65.4mm for the entire mount diameter. The new mirrorless mount will allow for f/0.95 lenses - remember the NOCT trademark and f/0.9 lens patents? Memory cards: XQD and CF Express - now this is a surprise for me, but it is what I have heard (ProGrade is coming with a CF Express card). EVF resolution: 3.6MP (update: I am not sure if this is MP or million dots, the translation could be wrong since the specs originally came from Asia) Initially, three lenses will be announced: 24-70mm, 35mm and 50mm (I think the 35 and 50mm will be f/1.4). There is also talk about a 24mm, but it may come later. Pricing: The 45MP model will be around $4,000/€4,000 in a kit with the 24-70mm lens. The 25MP model will be under $3,000/€3,000 (also with a lens). The official announcement is rumored for the end of July (on or around July 23rd) and shipping shortly after (August 23rd). This is the part I am not sure about because previous tips suggested a Photokina announcement. Maybe we will see the development announcement at the end of July and the official announcement before Photokina. I will try to get a confirmation on the exact announcement date. I will be getting more information in the next few days and will be able to confirm or update the information provided above. Beauty man. The best camera is always the one in your hand. Only tip regarding rule of thirds is cropping and creative spacing. ensure you find a nice middle point between foreground and background

When people say no to proportional representation....this is why I shake my head in wonder. "fringe candidates/parties" still own support by and from the people. I don't care if we have 2 parties running parliament or 20, as long as the people are listened too, and if the people wanted 10 libertarians and 3 pirates well they deserve it.
-
I actually hope for a return to the true conservative values that helped make this country great in the same way I hope for the same return to truly liberal values for the same reason. But sadly...there is to much divisiveness and blurring of party lines and a true loss of those values on both sides to even make that possible.

From the media outlet and the reporter herself RE: the groping http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-grope-allegation-1.4730674 An unsigned editorial appeared in the Creston Valley Advance after the event accusing Trudeau of "groping" and "inappropriately handling" a young female reporter while she was on assignment. It suggests the woman felt "blatantly disrespected" but provides no other details about what occurre Earlier this year, CBC News spoke by phone and emailed with the woman who was the subject of the editorial. She said she was not interested in being associated with any further coverage of the story. She also asked that her name not be used and that she not be contacted about the story again. A former co-worker remembers the reporter's account of the encounter. Valerie Bourne was the publisher of the Creston Valley Advance at the time and says the reporter was "distressed" by her contact with Trudeau. "My recollections of the conversation were that she came to me because she was unsettled by it. She didn't like what had happened. She wasn't sure how she should proceed with it because of course we're talking somebody who was known to the Canadian community." Bourne told CBC News that the reporter was interviewing Trudeau when he touched her. "It was a brief touch," said Bourne. "I would not classify it or qualify it as sexual assault." The paper's editor at the time, Brian Bell, also spoke to CBC News. "I don't recall that the reporter was coming across as having been traumatized or distraught about it, but definitely that, whatever physical touch or whatever had occurred in that moment was definitely not welcome and definitely inappropriate. "I certainly believe that it happened, this reporter was of a high character in my opinion and was professional in the way she conducted herself and there's no question in my mind that what was alluded to, written about in that editorial, did happen." Bourne believes the editorial was written by the reporter herself. Both Bourne and Bell say they did not write the editorial and that it must have been one of the two reporters on staff. The second reporter, Paul Frey, told The National Post that he didn't know anything about it.

Probably the same as the US forces feel when Trump threatens every one and their dog with war. Pretty damned uncomfortable and regretting some life choices I'd imagine
