  1. Man the more I read the more I realize how unique my family position is. We owe literally no money to anyone. LIke literally have zero debt. We have close to 80,000 saved up to buy, with access to another 65,000 so in essence upwards of $145,000 downpayment But we're renting a beautiful little character home, and while a shade small for our family for only $900 a month and we keep saving money. Roughly $15,000 ish a year I keep seeing people going all out jumping in to a market in wich a simple PEST or SWAT analysis would show people is on the road to a severe downturn in the same way capitalism has failed. IE; Infinite growth is not possible based on the construct of monetary viablity. Or in essence, you cannot go higher than the populace can afford and we reached that point about 18 months ago. Where in Penticton a 3 bedroom shack was just losted at $2500 a month rent, $1250 deposit upfront and an additional $1250 for any pet. So essentially your first months rent being $5000. In Penticton. Where the yearly median income is $19,800 on the low end and averages out to $27,400 on the high end per person. I cannot fathom how prices can keep increasing with supply now starting to grow faster than in recent memory. I also cannot fathom buying in this ridiculous market even with our current downpayment
  2. Just read what I wrote...never write anything via phone. Had meant to say exact same nature of injury. Not exact same. My bad. My name is Warhippy, and I like to fearmonger
  3. You know....it is the exact same surgery in roughly the exact same spot of the back. So while it isn't an identical injury per say....are you his doctor?
  4. Just like to clarify this injury is the EXACT same nature of injury edler suffered back in 2011 literally caused him reduced mobility and was the last year we really saw him lay those thundering hits. Won't say it will affect OJ long term, but will say i was very vocal about wanting to trade edler after the same surgery. Hoping to see OJ at camp completely healthy but backs are very VERY tricky things
  5. Oh for the love of Gordie Howe's ghost.  If the Capitals do actually win the cup, how will Trump claim credit for it?

It's a magnificent cup, so so big and shiny. Melania loves that huge, magnificent, shiny cup. Did I mention she loves huge shiny cups?

and because I'm making Washington great again, and I love her, so very, very much. Ya know

People, I don't know if you know how much I love huge shiny things that my wife loves too, but I do and it's huge. And very shiny. So many great names on there. Great names. Really, really great and exciting names.

I told the Champitals that if they could bring that huge shiny apostrophy back to the senate I'd sign it so they could always know who told them to be winners, not losers, winners. Winners that win, like me. And I told them to.

Winners that lose huge, shiny cups covered in really great names aren't winners. And they did win it. And they thanked me for helping them win.

  6. My wife owned a townhouse before we met, her strata fees were included in the mortgage and she got a notice of payment every month from the strata corp I'd seriously check it out
  7. Are you paying strata yourself? If not then its usually written in to your payment but you should have been explained that in very plain english
  8. lol he's a sight better than Scheer even with his current record
  9. Protestors are just jobless hippies Also Protestors are paid to be there anyways
  10. Keep a few things in mind. Some people here and across BC and Alberta (Canada) were swearing this needs to be built no matter what Total cost of purchase $4.5 billion for a 50+ year old pipeline Total cost to build is $7+ billion Total cost of court cases and lawyers is unknown but could total millions KM bought this pipeline almost 20 years ago for $500 million When you guys swore this needed to be built, when you said no matter what, it's for the best. Did ya REALLY think you were gonna get what you wanted and that you'd be this upset over it?
  11. Feel free to move there, I don't want them in any form for the same reasons I don't want Alaska.
  12. You've obviously never been to California. 40+ million people alone, with ALL those social issues. Pass
  13. Now, Golden boy has had his way. Let's see him shut his yapper and get line east working the same way he just forced this one everyone here in BC If it's good for the country...let em at it
  14. The best part is that there's the purchase cost PLUS building cost. The total cost of this will be over 1 BILLION when all told without any issues. But there's always issues isn't there
  15. Actually and this is funny. Ready for this? Because it's in BC the federal government cannot indemnify itself as it would be a conflict of interest issue, the only government bodies it could get to indemnify it would be the province of BC and or Alberta. Or seek private insurance at private rates thus increasing the cost of this pipeline exponentially. So should any spill occur they can try to get money out of KM but they literally just absolved KM of any and all responsibility as the transportation device now belongs wholly to the government
  16. 1982. The NEP is a bad idea, the government has NO place in oil or investing in oil. It;'s socialism. 2018. Buying this pipeline is a good idea, we need the government to buy into this or buy it outright, it's the best possible plan
  17. Its funny the people who scream against socialism are suddenly all for it. State owned oil pipeline

King Heffy: It's amazing how that doesn't seem to effect others on wanting a d-man who can't defend.

It's almost like they don't remember how bad Weber and Larsen were.  Any defenseman who can't play defense has zero business being in the NHL.  Look how bad the Leafs D is.

It's almost like...playing on a bad team makes a defenseman look really bad.  Almost like, people on a western canadian hockey forum somehow magically watch Hanifin 82+ games a year to be able to say these things.  It's...almost like Hanifin would never be an improvement over what we have.

Good thing we still have Edler eh heffy ;)

  19. No...no it isn't taxes and I don't give a randy shart what BS link or argument people keep posting to justify that claim In 2008 the taxes on fuel outside of the lower mainland were only 5 cents lower than they are now. oil was $142 a barrel. $1.25 at the pumps In 2017 oil was $46 a barrel. $1.55 at the pumps. Taxes don't change overnight. Production costs don't all of a sudden sky rocket. Having every major refinery magically need maintenance at the exact same time is wondrous. Labour costs are cheaper now than they were in 2008. We have more actual supply over the last 4 years than at any other time in modern history. We have more refining capacity as well. There is no justification for the high costs of fuel at the pumps other than corporate greed and the knowledge that people NEED to drive, that without fuel people will starve When you say red herring what you really mean is that you know that there is in fact something going in regards to price fixing on but that we all know the government makes money hand over fist on taxation so much like when they say tobacco is bad and people shouldn't smoke, they're still gonna sell it because $$$$$$$$
  20. Whoa.... Horgan going BIG GUNS today claiming he's asking the feds to look in to price fixing from big oil at the pumps. Hard to say that they aren't in all honesty. Even more hard to not get behind this regardless of who you support or don't support. I think we ALL have argued that their is obvious price fixing going on in the markets in canada. https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-premier-calls-for-federal-action-into-pumped-up-gas-prices-in-metro-vancouver-1.3944183 B.C. Premier John Horgan has joined a chorus of consumer advocates and industry experts calling for a federal investigation into pumped up gas prices in Metro Vancouver. Speaking to reporters in Vancouver on Thursday, Horgan said he was ready to take the issue all the way to the prime minister. "British Columbians are driving to the pumps and they're outraged that the costs are going up and they can't explain why," he said. "I would certainly welcome the federal government to get into the game here and protect consumers." The price of gasoline in the region is sitting at a once-unthinkable 161.9 cents per litre, and everyone from academics to fed up drivers is pleading for the government to look into how retailers set fuel prices. But Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr told CTV News the feds are not currently planning to do anything to lower the price of gas in B.C. "Well, the government of Canada doesn't set the price of gas and you know that," he said. But even though the government doesn't set prices, it could still force gas companies to explain them. Earlier in our Pumped up Prices investigation, CTV asked gasoline retailers like Chevron, Petro Canada, Super Save Gas and Otter Co-op who is responsible for setting fuel prices. Not a single one agreed to talk. Greater transparency, Horgan said, is something he would like to see. "I'll be talking to the prime minister I'm sure about oil related issues in the next number of days and I'll bring that up,” he said. He mentioned when British Columbians saw a previous spike in gas prices in 2008 and 2009 that the price of a barrel of crude oil was headed to $150 USD. But even though a barrel of crude costs about half that now, about $70 USD, gas prices are still higher than ever. "So it's not a commodity price question," Horgan said. "Is it gouging? Is it collusion among the providers?" He also asked if it could be retailers taking advantage of political debates around the Trans Mountain pipeline project, which exports diluted bitumen, to make the argument that it's having an effect on refined product. Lindsay Meredith, an SFU marketing professor, said he expects the government will have to do a formal investigation into the margins being charged for retail wholesale distribution of gasoline in order to get some transparency. "I believe the government has a much more active role to take," he said. Horgan said his provincial government is ready. And he wants the feds to be, too. "Somewhere along the line someone's making a lot of money. And it's not the government and it's not the travelling public," Horgan said.

  22. bingo. I rather enjoy your posts on this matter.
  23. article 92 section A of the Canadian constitution http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-statement-of-claim-1.4673252 The B.C. government has filed a statement of claim in Alberta's Court of Queen's Bench over legislation that allows Alberta to restrict oil and gas shipments to B.C. The legislation was passed last week in response to B.C.'s continued opposition to the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion. If it is used, it could cause already high gas prices at B.C. pumps to spike. The statement of claim seeks a declaration that the Preserving Canada's Economic Prosperity Act is unconstitutional and can't be used. "The Government of Alberta introduced and supported the Act because it asserts British Columbia is responsible for 'delays' to an expansion of the Trans Mountain Pipeline," the statement reads. "Alberta seeks to utilize powers under the Act to punish British Columbia." Alberta passes bill 'to turn off the taps' to B.C. over pipeline delays Notley backs out of western premiers meeting, citing Trans Mountain deadline The B.C. government is being unfairly blamed for delays facing the Trans Mountain expansion, said David Eby, B.C.'s attorney general. "We have granted permits at the same pace and with the same process as the previous [B.C.] government," he said Tuesday. "There has been a mis-characterization of B.C.'s role here." He noted the project is facing a number of legal challenges, including one by First Nations that challenges the environmental assessment process and was underway before the NDP formed government in B.C. Irreparable harm The B.C. government argues in the statement of claim that a significant amount of gas and diesel consumed in the province comes from Alberta. "A significant disruption in the supply of gasoline, diesel, and crude oil from Alberta to British Columbia would cause British Columbia irreparable harm," the statement of claim said. It also notes cutting off the supply could injure human health. Many remote communities in B.C. rely on diesel generators for electricity and could suffer if fuel supplies was suddenly cut off, Eby said. The B.C. government has been accused of delaying the pipeline through a reference case in the B.C. Court of Appeal. That case seeks to determine if it has jurisdiction to limit expanded shipments of heavy oil through the province over environmental concerns. Eby maintains the governemnt is only taking the step to protect B.C.'s coast from spills and that the federal government could expedite that case by referring it to the Supreme Court of Canada — something the federal government has declined to do. Alberta responds Alberta Premier Rachel Notley said Tuesday she is not surprised B.C. has moved ahead with legal action, but called it premature because Alberta has yet to proclaim the bill and design the regulations for restricting oil and gas shipments. She also disagreed with B.C.'s assertion that it has not delayed the pipeline expansion, citing the ongoing legal action in B.C. "If we thought that was the very last thing that they would do, and they would commit to that, then we could probably move forward," she said. "They are still reserving the right to play legal rope-a-dope until the cows come home." The legal action by B.C. comes a day after Alberta Premier Rachel Notley pulled out of meetings between the western premiers in Yellowknife. Notley said her time is better spent at home ensuring a deal is reached with Kinder Morgan to shore up the pipeline expansion. The company has set a deadline of May 31 to decide if it will continue with the project.
  24. Oh ffs.... Take it back to your cages and keep flinging your poop there for the love of Howe. If you have an issue with a report said person quoted deal with that somewhere else. you've literally been going back and forth on this since December. Just think about how awfully terribly and completely sad that is that you would waste your lives spending 5 full months or so complaining about this.
