Oh I did. But it still doesn't detract from the fact that the NDP in Germany is nothing like the NDP in Canada. Like at all
-
I didn't miss it. I ignored it like you do anyone who calls you out and demands information or facts from your...opinions
-
I take you live or reside in Germany then?
-
It's only sad because the parties on the right are so worthless that they give people no choice But...you might want to udnerstand that the NDP in germany is not the NDP in Canada at either the federal or provincial level. Seeing as how you've been everywhere and done everything I thought I'd remind you

Still not expecting him until 2020. Hoping he plays 1 more full year over there then a year in the AHL to acclimate. Do not rush this kid
-
While being free of waiver issues
-
My biggest concern as well. Added of course that ZOMG 4 goals in 9 games and a solid pre-season means he will be target #1 for Vancouver media and criticism. I worry about burning this kid out in a losing season for his first pro year. I sincerely don't think there is any loss with sending him to Utica for half the year or the whole season. Un-popular opinion though it may be.
-
Has Jake done enough to warrant an actual spot on the crowded at the wings Canucks roster or not. My unpopular opinion is to still send him down
-
We can agree to disagree here. But I see no reason to start them anywhere but Utica myself.
-
I know. Common sense and patience have never been something this organization has shown in any depth. Bringing them up will ensure 10-12 minutes ish a game and leave Utico with a much weaker team. Leaving them down would ensure they get 16+ minutes a night played in top 6 roles and give Utica the skill they need to compete. Meh

JUst said it in the Virtanen thread I think Jake and Brock should start in Utica. Jake the first call up, Brock the 2nd. Let them gel together and dominate the AHL for 1 more season respectively. No need to rush them in an attempt to achieve medicority in the bigs. They're young and we're in no hurry. Regardless of how good Boeser is looking. 1 more year never hurt anyone.
-
I still think he should start in Utica with Boeser. Jake being the first call up, Boeser behind him. We're in no rush at all. Rather see them dominate and gel for one year in the AHL instead of assist this team towards maybe mediocrity at best.
-
Well. That's to the point
-
Man am I going to be unpopular for saying I think Boeser and Virtanen both belong in utica until at least february. Let's keep Upshall and Rodin on the team and try to cash in on them at the TDL instead of rushing our prospects. Virtanen being the first call up Boeser second.
-
He's easily 20 pounds lighter and 10 MPH faster than when he showed up last year. Isn't as gassed as fast. Looks hungry, is playing on the correct wing and looks like he's now thinking about the game instead of just reacting ala Booth Simply put it looks like he's on the right path without question. But it's VERY early. Stick him in utica and allow him to succeed this year is my best opinion
-
I have no arguments against any of that. He does look hungry and in shape. But; he will benefit from 1 mroe year in the minors learning the game in the top 6 and learning to win. We've little room up here as is. With Rodin etc here we've no need to bring him up as of now. Send him down to succeed don't bring him up to the tire fire where "the homegrown kid couldn't get it done" on a failing team
-
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Baumgartner the new coach in utica? Wasn't he there over the last 2 seasons or so? Something tells me he'll do just fine with that in utica if he goes there
-
You flat out stated that you couldn't wait for him to flame out or something to that sort so that you could see benning fired and tell everyone your i told you so's I have better things to do than pore over 900 pages looking for it. but with the crap you pull and the whining you do it's not a shock to anyone that you'd not only say something of the sort but flat out deny it too. Far more believable than anything you might fabricate. The beauty is, it's there if anyone wants to dig. The best part is, nobody cares enough about you to do it. Now go stand back in your corner and sulk because he hasn't been terrible this pre-season. I have better things to do than humour you troll

I'd fire them all out the door for a bag of pucks and force Linden to strap on skates again
-
I didn't say anything about first round picks. Although at the TDL Gudbranson tanev Vanek Could all capably net 1sts or 2nds and high prospects depending on the seasons they have. It's more about adding a bunch of or glut of picks over the next 2 drafts in the 2nd through 5th rounds to ensure maximum depth in our organization. Allow benning to work his magic before he gets turfed Hard to say. Megan/Chaput didn't have a place last year either but.... Boucher for me is Virtanens worst possible outcome, but I'd fire Boucher out the door for a 5th and smile about it at the TDL
-
I'd go even further We need Boeser/Virtanen in the AHL to ensure Boucher/Rodin have spots Trade bait Rodin Boucher Burmistrov Del Zotto Dorsett Vanek Sutter Hutton/Tanev Subban Weircoch I'd add in Eriksson too but we cannot retain anything on him at this moment due to the Hansen retention. I could see all of those guys gone within the next season or two. but would peg them all as trade bait this year. Yes we'd suuuuuck. But we'd also suck next year with the glut of youth we'd be adding to the roster and in 2019/2020 we'd be on the incline. This year is not eh year to introduce our kids. Next year is. Next year shows us the start of the transition from empty cupboards to stockpiled depth within the organization. This year leaving Virtanen down with Boeser et al. next year bringing them in, shedding 3-5 contracts via trade. Building more. Seeing 3-6 new faces from drafting entering the Comets. 2019/2020 bringing in 1-3 more guys seeing and 3-6 enter the comets. Thus beginning the revolving door of actual in house depth this organization has never ever had. Imagine for once being a canucks fan in 2020-2021 and not worrying at all about free agency but instead fearing the TDL knowing we've to many kids and need to lose someone good to shore up a spot somewhere else. 2 more years of top 10 drafting, 1 year of outside of the playoff drafting then...who knows. I don't want to see Virtanen on the team unless it is via emergency call up only.
-
For me re: Boeser it isn't about proving anything. it is about building that essential chemistry getting him used to the rigors of a 65+ game season and to ensure that we can have Rodin in the line up. We're looking at a maximum of possibly 5 contracts we can shed at the TDL. I'd like to maximize that in a draft that is apparently top heavy with some of the mroe select D prospects we've seen in a decade.
-
The league is literally littered with dozens of players drafted top 10 that never progressed past 3rd or 4th line players, and even more top 10 picks that never even made the league full time. Jake will or won't and that's on him now
-
As I said, something to the tune of. I took him to task and was really angry over that specific post. When he fails, if he busts, when he flames out. Not necessarily using the B word as it was. But very clearly stating he hopes he fails to see Benning fired and that he can be proven right. Before you ask, no I refuse to go through the last 250 odd pages to look for that particular interaction but fi you'd like to look go right ahead.
-
My measly 2 cents on Jake I stated numerous times that this would be the year he needs to come in, show he's fit, show he's hungry and start showing people he belongs. He's a long LONG way to go still to show some of that, but he's on the right road. Would like to see him and Boeser in the AHL with Dahlen and Goldobin and allow the team to sink or swim based on the current line up and ves they have. Allowing Virtanen and the rest of the under 23 crowd to start gelling and winning as a group instead of living in the fishbowl of Vancouver
