  1. If we obtain another pick in the top 10 or top 5 I'm perfectly ok drafting 2 centers. 2 defensemen or a combo of forward and D That's the joy of having a shallow prospect pool. There's no wrong answer. Unless it's Rasmussen or Tippett
  2. PLayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. If you haven't seen it or heard f it...find it 100 people on a map played out like hunger games. Every 10 or so minutes they kill off sections of the perimeter forcing you to move. No camping or anything. 100-1. Once you die you die, no respawn back to the lobby and in a queue for the next room. Surprisingly awesome
  3. Because he's a man playing among boys. Look where he gets his points as well. At 16th sure. 5th no
  4. Callan foote btw 6 foot 4 215 pounds And man can he skate
  5. This draft might be regarded as shallow, but there's some players that are wildly intriguing in the first 3 rounds that look like they could project well as NHL players in the future Also, let's go get Norris. That way when we win the cup we'll have a Norris cup winner for once
  6. Have to agree, kinda clueless really. That said, if an undrafted Tanev nets us a top 10 pick alone or as part of a package while keeping the 5th overall. Benning is a stud
  7. Wait... no...pull ups? How now 18 year old Casey Mittlestadt
  8. OK dude See here's the thing. I actually watched both Keith and Weber in their clubs in Penticton/Kelowna resppectively. I also watched Edler for his half season in Kelowna. Makar shows more speed, better on ice vision and better passing ability than either of them. Which is in part why Keith and Weber were 2nd round picks and Makar is labeled a potential top 5 but almost surefire top 10. Amazingly, I actually recall having this exact same argument about Duncan with a buddy of mine from edmonton when I said the guy was going to be a star; he said he's too small played against questionable competition and since he was going the college route wasn't going to be an NHL player. This is not "Makar Love" this is a statement I made and one Mod took as their sig. Makar WILL be a solid NHL defenseman and do not be shocked if he goes top 5. There's a reason people are paying attention to him. **Edit This is my opinion only, made because I had the pleasure of watching some amazing defensemen in junior and having the pleasure of watching Cale in Penticton over 10 days. Smaller sample size on Makar but I'd capably put him in the same tier of D man as Weber/Keith (albeit Weber has a lumberack vs either of them) as a junior player. Whoever drafts him and develops him properly will be very very lucky. Again, my opinion only
  9. Gloating is taking smug assurance in something one did or one's own success. When a page is full of people claiming he's "too small and won't grow" while telling me that I am wrong I am absolutely going to point out that I was right. So if I was in fact gloating. Good. The kid is going to be a solid D prospect no matter what people say. Again, having watched players from Weber to Keith, Edler, and, Fabbro in the Okanagan I can say unequivocally he has possibly the biggest upside of all of them. Judging by his physical growth as well 6 foot 1 and 200 pounds isn't entirely out of the question by the time he's done college
  10. Vesalainen is a monster wow And ZOMG look at that Cale Makar...that kid who is too small and plays in a subpar league. almost 6 feet now and 187 pounds. That says still room to grow Also still liking popagayev in the 2nd if he's still there, skilled and a decent size
  11. He'll be a 225 pound player in his prime I'd wager between 27 and 35 years old
  12. He's gonna do whatever the f*** he wants!!!! OMG is that Vilardi's shadow
  13. Glass 6.2 ft 190 pounds http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=179680 Mittlestadt 6.1 ft 201 pounds http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=192483 Vilardi 6.2 ft 192 pounds http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=187453 Necas 6 ft 167 pounds http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=194727 These are all as per team sites at the start of the season per player, as such will be adjusted at the combine without question but I think you'll see some serious differences in weight to them now.
  14. At 5 I'd be upset with Petterson knowing we have the assets to move in to the 10-15 spot where he could be available. There are 4-6 teams between 7 and 15 that could use a D man like Tanev that could possibly be convinced to give up their 1st + allowing us to grab Petterson there and someone else at 5
  15. That moment you walk in to the Virtanen thread then turn around and head to the Trump thread for civilized and intelligent debate....
  16. Now that you mention it, you're right. Well done. Back to hockey now
  17. Oh my Howe are you two still at it.... Stop So the Isles apparently need to show Tavares they want to win now which means making major moves. I think Snow can be had again. Who wants in on taking Snow to the cleaners or pulling a proverbial...snow job
  18. Can someone fill me in. I've heard more than a few people stating Tolvanen as a better potential winger than Tippett with Tippett showing the same characteristics as Virtanen. Anyone want to clarify that?
  19. So....for nothing? Pass. 3rd OA. We're giving them a solid D man, aging, not fitting our rebuild and all we have to do is eat 10 million for a year and cough up a middling prospect as well. For the 3rd OA, I'd do it
  20. Edler and a prospect for both of Dallas' goalie contracts and the 3rd overall Tanev and a prospect to to Arizona for both firsts this year Trade 23rd and 55th to Tampa for 13th OA and 3rd round pick 3rd: Vilardi/Patrick 5th: Liljegren/Heiskanen 7th: Glass/Necas/Petterson 13th: Petterson/Foote/Suzuki 33rd: Comtois/Kostin/Anderson-Dolan/Chytil/Boqvist/Popagayev Develop each for a minimum of 2 years in the CHL and AHL (Liljegren, Heiskanen, Necas, Petterson should we draft them all AHL eligible immediately post draft) And suck in 2018 like nobodies business and draft 1 of Dahlin/SergachevVeleno/Hughes/Merkley Then draft another top 7 in 2019 and viola, Canucks have the envy of the prospect world in the NHL
  21. I'm no against him at all. He's the eptiome of boom/bust. There's a number of fallers we could capably grab with our 2nd I am sure
  22. TBH The barons' line up isn't really all that great and Puljujarvi is more of a playmaking winger. Goals aren't his end all be all. Denotino is not regression. Nylander was demoted 3 times this years. Reinhardt demoted 4 times. Lucic a number of times etc. Regression is what we're seeing with the twins. If Oilers fans are ready to ship him out, I'd be all for picking him up for scraps. Don't forget, a fan base is the fastest to turn on a player but the slowest to admit they were wrong
  23. If I recall it was a threat of return to Russia if I don't get top minutes. Me first player. Not attitude or earned arrogance but a bad playing attitude. Take it with a grain of salt as its second hand info from a forum so...
