  1. Totally agree. we will need that potential PPG center for when the twins are done. And B Schenn translates into him. he HAS to be a starting point with a Kesler trade. Or hopefully an edler trade.
  2. With all due respect I open a page and this is the first thing that pops up after dozens of the same quoting "sources" it's going to get called out. Also, don't be so insulting. I wasn't insulting you, no need to start calling people morons.
  3. So...ya there is a pre-existing thread for ALL Daily TSN trade rumours. This exact post was put in there at 8 am. The reason that thread exists is to take away these exact posts daily and to whittle down the clutter.
  4. There's rules against posting this kind of crap. Post your source or don't post it at all. Seriously, Eklund has more credibility than this kind of nonsense
  5. Callahan is apparently asking for $7 million for 7 years....insane

for a career high of 61 points? Crap...We need to trade Kesler than because in 2 years he's going to want Malkin money....

Clarkson 2.0 all over again. He's obviously a notch better than the Leaf but same scenario will take place. Not at all worth the $

  6. This exactly. If Kesler is leaving we are not competing. Not for this season or next season. That is a fact. Taking back prospects and picks of that nature is an incredible boon to this team in the future. Almost can't miss prospects. prospects who will pan out in a few seasons and a pick that we can use to draft our organizational need with allows us to slowly bring in some youth every single season while retaining some hard working vets in the line up. I know people don't like that fact, as there is almost 65 pages about it, but facts are facts. NO Kesler, No edler, No Luongo means no playoffs and rebuild is on. At that point we are just racing to rebuild faster than Calgary and edmonton
  7. Getting Creative The Pittsburgh Penguins will try their best to acquire Ryan Kesler from the Vancouver Canucks before the Trade Deadline. According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, Penguins GM Ray Shero will do everything he can to trade for Kesler by Wednesday's deadline. Dreger reports the Penguins aren't the only team showing interest in the veteran centre, however, with the Detroit Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets, and New York Rangers also showing interest. Among other topics Dreger touched on was Rangers' forward Ryan Callahan's softening contract demands and the several veterans that could be on the move before Wednesday's deadline. Surprise Trade Piece Despite not playing a game since late November, Dallas Stars defenceman Stephane Robidas may still be a hot commodity at the Trade Deadline. Dreger tweeted that the veteran blueliner, who has been out with a broken leg, is garnering interest. Robidas, 37, could be back by mid-March, according to Dreger. Netminder Insurance Heading to the playoffs, the Minnesota Wild may be looking for some insurance for rookie goaltender Darcy Kuempfer. TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com reports that Ryan Miller isn't likely to be the only goalie moved before the deadline, and New Jersey Devils veteran netminder Martin Brodeur could be a perfect fit for the Wild. The Wild need another goalie with Niklas Backstrom battling injuries and Josh Harding out indefinitely after his MS flared up, and Brodeur could be receptive to a move to Minnesota where his son plays high school hockey and good friend Zach Parise on the team. Keeping Pace In light of the St. Louis Blues' acquisition of goalie Ryan Miller, several of the Blues' rivals in the Western Conference could make moves to keep pace with the team. According to Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal, teams like the Chcago Blackhawks, San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, and Anaheim Ducks could be looking to add talent as well. Names floating around for those teams include Thomas Vanek, Matt Moulson, Tyler Myers, and Andrew MacDonald. Landing Spots Matheson also took a look at the Edmonton Oilers and where some of their tradable assets may wind up. Forwards Ales Hemsky and Ryan Smyth could be on the move while defenceman Nick Schultz may also be traded. Schultz is one of several defencemen Matheson reports the Boston Bruins are looking at, with others including MacDonald, Chris Phillips, and Andrej Meszaros. Pressing Forward Despite not being in a playoff spot as of Monday, the Ottawa Senators are expected to be buyers at the Trade Deadline. Senators owner Eugene Melnyk said during Sunday's Heritage Classic that his team is definitely not going to be sellers this season. John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports that recently acquired forward Chris Stewart is a candidate to be flipped to the Senators before the deadline.
  8. The only thing sadder than this fan base so publicly melting down is how much attention the oscars are getting over Ukraine, Egypt, Thailand and Venezuela.

lack consistency? what in the world are you talking about? my objection to the human rights violations in Russia were BECAUSE THE OLYMPICS WERE BEING HELD THERE, and while that was going on there, the "Games" were shoved down our throats back at home as if they were a true celebration of the human spirit and nationalism and pride and whatever. How in god's name is that comparable, AT ALL, to Ukraine, Oscars, whatever? Seems to me those things are purely isolated, localized, self-c...

no, not REGARDLESS. the Olympics were the essential part of my entire position. I would not be digging a position on Russia's laws if they were self-contained and not an international affair. I can say that because I don't post about the anti-gay laws around the rest of the third world. Whether or not you find those laws troubling outside of an Olympic context is your own deal. No inconsistency here, folks; but get ready for Brazil, I'll have a whole new wave of Olympic objections...

  9. Oh no, not even close. Messier coupled with Keenan not only alienated the entire roster but poisoned fan opinion. We had no prospects kissed Linden goodbye etc. Yes we are in much better condition even IF we sell off Kesler, Edler Luongo and Burrows.
  10. Don't respond to that poster. Seriously At some point in time or another every person ever brought up in trade talks or rumours in a Canucks jersey has been terrible for whatever reason for that person. Regardless of historical fact. If you listen long enough he'll convince you Kesler is only worth what nonis will piece off for him.
  11. I am of the same mindset. We can get 1 solid prospect a sure fire cannot miss player with a 1st round pick for Kesler it's a win. We can round out or fill other holes by moving Edler, Luongo Hansen Burrows etc. The writing is firmly on the wall this year. Sit the twins for the season. Trade Kesler, Trade Edler trade Luongo. Use those picks/prospects to compete over the next few seasons together and accept it as it was. We did not do this in 1995/1996 and it cost us huge, almost 5 years of set back before we got traction. If we do this right it could/should only be 2 seasons tops
  12. Well. Yesterday I asked if people thought that Gillis was waiting until after todays game to make a move. Today saw Daniel Sedin go down with injury. The writing is on the wall. So do we see Edler and Kesler moved by Weds since the game has been played out? And can we suck bad enough to draft Chychrun and Macdavid? Drink Kodos

.. I would give both Twins the rest of the season off .. find them a top winger in the summer .. move Kesler and Edler to change the core .. unless Detroit wants the Twins ..

      Warhippy

^^ Not a bad idea giving them the season. moving edler, Kesler, Luongo and patching up via UFA until our rookies are ready to contribute. A few seasons of high draft picks cannot hurt

      BanTSN

If the available deal is crap, then wait until the draft. It's not like contenders are going to hand us key players in return.

  13. 4-2. Seriously if this doesn't facilitate a sell off wtf will Gillis? edler, Kesler, Luongo between now and the draft. New homes and new hope for the team moving forward. Maybe a chance at MacDavid and Chychrun Drink Kodos...drink

      Mr.DirtyDangles

Yeah is time for a shake up for sure. I just hope we keep Tanev, Lack and or rookies in Utica. Blow it up !

  14. Hrad almost impossible to not see a Luongo trade making sense. even potentially adding edler into the mix. this years 1st 2nd and 3rd, next years 2nd. Pulock, Neilson and one of Strome or reinhart. Yes that seems high but it also gives them a ton of cap help, they really lose a pick and a prospect and a warm body on the roster for guaranteed goaltending and a solid D man who I think would shine in the east. For an org that was going to give every single draft pick just to move up a spot or two to draft Murray..... I really think there is a fit with edler or Luongo in long island and I hope something gets done for both teams that fits
  15. Just want to say, I feel for the mods over the last 76 hours. Hostile fans, fans that cannot read and multiple endless posts about the same 5 topics. Maybe we should all pitch in and get them a medium double double or something? Oh yes and Draft Chychrun and Macdavid. Drink Kodos...drink

I'll have a moderately sized bourbon for them right now.

  16. This is exactly right. besides 2 or 3 off years the Isles have basically missed the playoffs every season since the 2000's started. They've a stable full of solid young D and F prospects. They have a new building and they are ready to compete. They are going to be losing more bodies in the off season via UFA and will need to reach that cap floor. One has to wonder exactly what is going through the Isles' management teams' minds by not trading for a goaltender. If they retain this years pick they give Buffalo yet another solid shot a t MacDavid next year. Imagine us giving Edmonton MacDavid, that's the equivalent. it would make the Toronto trade that landed Boston Seguin look decent. Or they could simply trade a couple of solid picks this year or next year (staving off giving up the "next Crosby to a divisional rival) and a high risk prospect to Vancouver and guarantee themselves a playoff berth. They will need the contract just to reach the floor. They will need the goalie to win games and they will need the big name to sell seats and merchandise. If this isn't a no brainer I don't know what is.
  17. That is a terrible deal that would set this team back years. Subban demanding $7+ million sure. But then what? No picks, no prospects no potential for improvement. Seriously. Kesler ='s 1st round pick(s), Top blue chip prospect(s) and or Solid player under the age of 25. Edler ='s 1st round pick(s) Top Blue chip prospect or solid can't miss player under the age of 25. Packaging them both for less than that is criminal and almost Millbury-esque
  18. He could have 10 and he'd still be attractive as the cap rises. The Isles took on Thomas' contract last year of $5+ million and he never even played a game for them. Lou and his cap hit + possible cap penalty will be very attractive to teams that spend a lot as his salary will be nil, his cap hit friendly in comparison. As by the time Luongo retires, back up goaltenders will be getting paid $4+ million
  19. Friendly cap hit moving forward for a less than cap happy team. Solid goaltending and an almost guaranteed shot at the playoffs and the all important playoff revenue that comes with it. Huge name to sell merch and of course the added bonus of having stockpiled enough prospects that losing a few isn't a tough deal
  20. Pittsburgh can give us the defensive prospects we need. Phillidelphia can give us the forward prospects we need. The Islanders or the Panthers can give us some picks. Kesler, edler, Luongo....rebuild is on
  21. Bend over, present rectum allow Sakic + Roy to take turns and not purchase us dinner.
  22. Is that Your Final Answer? The Pittsburgh Penguins are reportedly ponying up in their efforts to lure Ryan Kesler out of Vancouver. Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported a proposed deal between the Pens and Canucks that he credited to multiple sources. “A proposed deal would send Kesler to the Penguins in exchange for Brandon Sutter, two 2014 draft picks — likely a first- and third-round — and the Canucks' choice of defensemen Simon Despres or Brian Dumoulin,” Rossi wrote on Saturday. Rossi continued to say that it is possible the deal could involve another player going in either direction, but that Penguins' GM Ray Shero was only looking to acquire Kesler. Goalies Gone Wild The Minnesota Wild are apparently very much in the market for an upgrade between the pipes. According to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Wild GM Chuck Fletcher is after a netminder and was even in on discussions for former Buffalo keeper Ryan Miller before getting priced out. So, who fits the bill for Minny's playoff push? Russo drops a lengthy list that spans from new Sabres acquisition Jarsolav Halak to established number ones like Martin Brodeur and Cam Ward to enigmatic Oilers netminder Ilya Bryzgalov. Snowfall Warning? Could this be Paul Stastny's last week as a member of the Colorado Avalanche? The Denver Post's Adrian Dater writes that if the Avs are unable to get the 28-year-old re-upped before the deadline, they could deal him rather than risk losing him for nothing over the summer as an unrestricted free agent. "You want to keep winning and don't want to break that chemistry, but at the same time if something happens, it happens. It's just part of the business. Some things I can't control and I just worry about what I can control — and that's playing hockey," Stastny told the Post. Dater believes the Avs could probably expect a young defenseman in return and one that might still have time left on an existing deal or, if not, a pending restricted free agent. Call Me, Maybe? Jaromir Jagr is an intriguing name to watch prior to Wednesday. The 42-year-old just became the NHL's seventh 700-goal scorer and – as a pending unrestricted free agent – could be an attractive veteran addition for many teams as they push towards the post-season. But the iconic Czech winger cautions that any team looking for his services should probably run it by him first. “The situation with me is I think if any team would try to trade for me they would probably ask me first if I wanted to go there,” Jagr told the Star-Ledger after the New Jersey Devils' Saturday win over the New York Islanders. “I don't have a contract (for next season) and I'm 42 years old. What if I decided to go home? Nobody is going to give any draft picks or players for me if they don't know. “Same thing happened when I went to Boston (from Dallas last season). They called before. So I'm probably going to know what's going on before.”
  23. it isn't Maata or Pouliot....only two D prospects id want as they offer us the chance to move a Dman as well and give us that puck moving smooth skating D we don't have in our system
