  1. oh ffs..... Meet the new team, same as the old team
  2. If you listened by the by, Barry paused for a very obvious moment when asked about Pettersson staying in vancouver. his answers became VERY political and diplomatic after that At this point with horvat leaving, Boeser being shopped, no help coming from the prospect bins on the defensive end of things and Kuzmenko thus far playing himself in to a league average $7+ million contract based on projected point totals at years end. They better sell him on the future fast because the short term with this team will be a mess without significant change. Sell every possible asset they can to obtain futures over the next 2-3 years and build around him Demko Hughes and Podkolzin by supplementing those trade returns with higher value draft picks of their own
  3. Yes there was. Someone is being diplomatic. Id' slyly be shopping Pettersson as well because with Horvat and Boeser leaving between this and next year and the team potentially being unable to sign Kuzmenko based on the cap increases and needing to retain just what they have for on ice product now it is looking grim and he may very well just want to leave anyways
  4. Regarding pettersson, JP Barry's comments this morning according to Dhali At this stage. vancouver needs to start seriously shopping Pettersson on the future because the present in vancouver with Horvat/Boeser leaving, no defensive help in the prospect pools and Kuzmenko playing himself towards a league average $7+ million contract; coupled with a potential cap increase of only $1 million means the short term is UGLY
  5. Now, here's the thing. if Boeser was a good player, as you state. Then management wouldn't have given his agent the green light to find a team because they'd have been lining up. He's productive for sure. But if he's so good.... Something tells me you're going to be wildly upset when/if this trade happens
  6. OK. Try to follow along Boeser is currently unable to be traded as a recent BoG and GMs meeting had statements that trades can't be made right now Reasons cited are injuries and cap to almost every interested team Boeser is the highest percentile player for cap/term that is unable to be traded due to those reasons. With 3 years remaining on his deal teams can not fit him under their structure with the cap increase now estimated to only be $1 million That means trading Boeser will need to include a sweetener on our part, a pick/prospect to get a team to take the full contract. Paying to move him Alternatively it means retaining cap for the duration of his contract to get a marginal return To offset this. A team with a $6 million to $7 million contract set to expire in 1-2 seasons would trade a non productive player to vancouver This returned contract means they CAN fit Boeser, a productive player at full value for a contract that is similar but non productive The reasoning behind this is without moving a $6+ million contract, most teams can not take a $6 million contract The example of Johnson a 3rd and Cervier for Boeser and a 6th is just an example of the potential return The true benefit to that ANY trade of that nature is that Vancouver can then leverage the contract in return for a higher return, IE; a Pick, Prospect They also get that extra cap space that Boeser will tie up for Vancouver for 3 years, within 1-2 seasons as opposed to 3 This is why taking a contract back makes far more sense than it does to retain cap or just give Boeser away for essentially nothing or a late pick/nothing prospect. Leveraging the necessity of teams to make cap space to obtain players is essential to maximize the value of any large contract we send out. Myers, Boeser, Miller etc
  7. Proving you don't understand the meat of the matter with the post and didn't even read it through long enough to underdstand.
  8. 11 players over 200 games since 2006. Yup While our drafting has been abysmal to say the least, the very fact we've been unable to develop literally anyone at less than 1 player per draft year (with 4 of those players coming from 2014 and 6 of them being from the first round/4 in the top 10) it's genuinely shocking By any metric the Canucks should have been able as an organization to develop at least a few players worth the name
  9. I get the idea of retaining cap on boeser's contract but that makes no sense for the Canucks. A smarter idea would be taking back a comparable shorter term contract IE; Lucic that expires this year or Johnson who expires next year. You effectively say that you will hold the same level of/value of cap while having a contract that expires much faster. Thus making sure the trading team can in fact manage to fit Boeser in. IE something like and in example ONLY Van Trades: Boeser + 6th Chi trades: Johnson Crevier + 3rd Boesers contract washes Johnsons. Johnson expires next year. Crevier is a very large awkward skating RHD, the 3rd is a bonus. Canucks therefore trade Boeser away for a potential RHD prospect with size and a defensive accumen gain a pick and are free of the contract at the end of next season. That is just an example of swapping Boeser for another contract and gaining something better than what is suggested or owning the full weight of retention over the next 3 seasons.
  10. The issue here is that Elon is not doing this to protect his children. He has numerous children he doesn't quite care about at all. Added, Tesla tracks everything including battery usage and throttles actual battery usage. They track calls, people in vehicle all in real time. Twitter also does the exact same. Musks new decree stats everything will be tracked. He is the epitome of hypocrite right now. His actions are so far from consistent. He reels from one issue to another causing crisis' of his own making. Much of what he is claiming is far from true and far from reality and it's genuinely strange to see people trying to defend what appear to be the actions of someone on a bipolar edge
  11. Ruptured my biceps tendon, I know the feeling. but my dude, this is an odd fight to take up. This clamp down after literally writing these rules out of nowhere is beyond transparent
  12. The best part about this is that he created these Terms of Service himself most likely, literally within the last 36 hours to justify this clamp down on people speaking ill of him and he broke it an hour later
  13. I hope you don't throw your shoulder out with that ridiculous reach my dude. You are apparently the only good player on the team so....
  14. By banning literally dozens of individuals who literally did nothing to harm him or his child or threaten them in any way shape or form. Got it. Competitors, people posting videos of him getting laughed at, jeered or are critical of him and reporters who have posted less than glowing interviews with him getting banned from his platform en masse is protecting his child
  15. I can see that. The literal rule is right there. Like ROGHT there but it takes a lot of time to move those goal posts around while carrying on the fake moniker nonsense
  16. The LITERAL rule he is citing on his companies TOS agreement But whatever right? It's different for him
  17. Might also say, that he says it is about the safety of his kids welfare etc. But knowingly neglects the transgender daughter he has who has effectively cut tiies with him or the iligitimate ones he had with shivon zilis or the other one now come to light But hey ya, it's about freedom of speech and the kids and not doxing people or posting their personal information right elon?
  18. He says posting a mans face name and license plate/vehicle make/model on the very same platform with no hint of irony. Without even blinking also forcibly reinstating thousands of accounts banned for multiple violations of that very self same terms of service
  19. He is the single most valuable asset on the Canucks with his production and should be treated like found money and flipped to a contender or bubble team at the deadline for picks/prospects. Period. We will not be able to retain him at the $7.25+ million league average he will be worth based on his current rate of production especially with the cap increase slated at only $1 million and needing to find a potential 2nd line centre to replace horvat AND still needing to fix our defense. In order of value in return the following need to go to ensure the long term health and viability of this team Horvat Kuzmenko Schenn Garland Pearson Boeser Myers Miller* Added a* for Miller because at a recent BoG and GMs meeting it was stated the cap may not increase more than $1 million and zero trades were happening or possible due to injuries from interested teams and an absolute lack of cap space. Which means any high value long term contracts will most likely not be moved and to expect a series of potential buyouts at the end of the next season or two. https://www.espn.com/nhl/insider/insider/story/_/id/35246436/nhl-board-governors-takeaways-trade-chatter-playoff-expansion There were a handful of general managers at the board of governors meetings (or "with governor access" as some put it). In conversions with a handful of them, one large theme emerged. Summed up by one general manager: "It's impossible to get a trade done right now. Nobody can get anything done." There are a few reasons in-season transactions have been hard to come by. The rash of injuries have put a few teams' plans on hold. The parity in the league is more pronounced than ever before, meaning several teams are nearing Christmas and still don't know what direction they'll go in (for example, the St. Louis Blues). Others are wondering if this is a year to go chasing when so many teams have a chance. But after conversations with several general managers, the biggest cited reason for the hold-up: the number of teams pressed against the salary cap, which has remained mostly stagnant following the pandemic. That means teams are waiting as long as possible to get their business done, allowing their cap space to accrue for maximum flexibility. Once we get closer to the March 3 trade deadline, general managers predict things will heat up. "Might not be busy for you now, but I think you'll be very busy on March 3 this year," one GM said. "There's going to be a lot of players, a lot of teams in the mix." One trend to watch out for is the reemergence of "third-party brokers," as teams with the luxury of cap space will step up to retain salary on a deal to pick up extra assets. As a reminder, an NHL contract is allowed to have a maximum of two teams retaining salary on it, and that retention is maxed out at 50% per team. Per the CBA, teams can have only three contracts with salary retention at a time. Teams expected to engage as third-party brokers this season include the Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes, Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks -- all teams building for the future.
