  1. For me would have to be Bolduc, Raty and a 1st. Nothing against Odelius, younger and all. But Bolduc is a large body that can skate damned well and can also play on his offside as a left shooting RHD We don't need more 6 foot ish under 200 pound defensemen. We need 6 foot 3+ 220 pounds + defensemen who can skate and push a body out of the crease. Or at the very least who don't get pushed out of the way by 180 pound forwards while being tall
  2. This is why I shouldn't read or respond before my morning tea. so easy to mistake things
  3. I'm trying a new thing where I am not just flying off the handle and trying to think responses through. It's weird. I won't comment anymore on the science about it. It's above my pay grade. All I know is that young kids are dying from things and whatever is rolling around in whatever various forms are absolutely decimating kids and young adults and it aint pretty.
  4. Posted just this a page or two back. The "champion of free speech" seems to have serious issues with free speech depending on what is being said. He has by all appearances deleted hundreds or thousands of accounts sharing videos of him being mocked. Thousands more for questioning him or calling him out over statements or behaviour. Has "shadow banned" accounts like muskjet which I posted the evidence of a few pages back; by demanding twitter execs make the call directly. Rules for thee but not for me. It is kind of shameful that a sweeping allowance of some truly disgusting people was made to allow them back on the platform. Bot usage is at an all time high by some metrics and if you make fun of the cult leader you will be silenced. The strictest usage of the word irony can be applied here. Where in Musk claims, makes comments about cancel culture and free speech being at risk. because companies and people are making choices based on their OWN preferences; yet he is cancelling the voices of thousands or more because they question him or share videos of him at a low point.
  5. No, sadly his comments were not. his comments were based at what he referred to as the "alphabet mafia" of the lgbtq community not long ago. He kind of made his feelings towards that king of orientation known regarding his own relatives in numerous comments. Making a joke about something is making a joke. But using your pulpit to effectively say it is ok to disrespect people and make fun of them for who they are is crossing a pretty blatant line. It's why I asked about scott vs musk in your comments. All Scott was doing was sousing out just that. Saying dude, respect these people by just accepting their existence. Musk made a joke about it instead (if that is your belief) and then carried on with an oft disproved statement about Fauci. When he tweeted about the rabbit hole; he may have made a mistake about what that term means. As I don't think he fully understands how far down the "rabbit hole" he has apparently gone
  6. That isn't even remotely MAGA. MAGA doctrine is literally there to cancel anyone who doesn't fall in lock step or goose step or whatever they do now. Obama spoke plain simple truth. be reasonable. Yelling and screeching at people because they are trying is not activism. Calling people out on social media is not activism. Not everyone is a bad person and that while you can have disagreements, you can also both love your kids, enjoy sunny days etc. To claim that is "maga" type thinking is laughable
  7. Just...wanna point this out. Probably the most truthful thing you'll see today regarding this topic
  8. With the cap potentially only raising by 1 million now. Schenn and Horvat can go....but it also means we won't be able to retain the team we have AND sign Kuzmenko to the $7+ million he'll dictate. Miller deal gonna keep on keeping on
  9. Well. That essentially buried the ability of the Canucks to sign either Horvat OR Kuzmenko at their current projected numbers
  10. 100% It is a private company. Musk can do with it what he will to it's betterment or detriment. No matter what people say and no matter how they feel about it. The end result is it's not something that can be easily regulated.
  11. This is apparently what the US President said. A report came out about him and what he thought of Musks use of such a valuable tool for communication and the elimination of safety and checks allowing for a rise in potential extremism. he evidently said it wasn't on his radar as it was a private company Like it or not the alternative is doing what the former guy did. grift enough people in to starting your own or move over to mastodon
  12. What does Lysell do for this team though? Fights with Lekkerimaki for one of the non existent forward positions. We need defense, picks and assets for the defense for the future.
  13. This comes directly back to my question about wondering which of scott or musk you thought was posting nonsense. It costs nothing for a person to accept a person as identifying as male/female or being unsure as something fluid or in between. Nothing. By diminishing that basic level of respect it is essentially saying a person is not worthy of even the most basic level of recognition which is incredibly demeaning. A person suggesting they are a cat or dog and needs to be respected as such is a person with significant mental issues and a need/desire for attention. That is not right or normal. I will not get in to the optics of men playing in womens sports based on gender identification; that's another argument. But the suggestion that school boards are allowing kids to defecate in litter boxes is not only insane but also incredibly foolish (imo) to use as a counter point to basic gender inequality issues present in todays society. Literally nobody; NOBODY is accepting of that. A good reference would be the small group of weirdos that get their jollies dressing up as babies and being coddled by "paid providers" as a form of sexual satisfaction. NOBODY accepts that as normal or right. Rightfully so. For Musk, one of the most visibly followed individuals in the world; to essentially say people with gender identity conflicts are not worth the simplest form of respect of identifying them as she/her/him/he in a society that is increasingly violent towards people in the trans community, it is a foghorn to those social miscreants who would do harm to them and an essential green light. This is a situation in which Musk could have just shut his mouth but instead didn't. I won't even get in to his Q-Anon conspiracy nonsense about Dr Fauci; but this is not a hill to die on for anyone with basic levels of respect for their fellow man.
  14. I made numerous statements about Todd in his trailer in Idaho being more credible to those types than tens of millions of medical professionals through covid. Because Todd told them what they wanted to hear. This is no different
  15. Meanwhile. The march towards obsolescence with twitter continues. Twitters brand recognition and trustworthiness is slipping by numerous accounts and various polls taken. This has also extended to Tesla in that the brands worthiness is now being questioned by consumers who are polled and leaning towards alternative vehicles with lower price points and less recognition based on what is being stated as "musks current appeal" as a brand leader. With that being said, here is Musks "twitter files" as they stand. A $44 billion nothing burger “Twitter Files” Part One: “Twitter Files” part one, released by independent journalist Matt Taibbi, focused on the social media platform’s decision in 2020 to limit the spread of a story from the New York Post about Hunter Biden’s laptop. At first, Twitter reportedly blocked links to the article, saying it had material obtained through hacking. The decision was later reversed. Musk unveiled Twitter’s decision to delete tweets, some including nude pictures of Hunter Biden shared without his consent, after receiving a request from Joe Biden’s campaign. “These interchanges revealed that much of the information that Twitter agreed to take down were naked pictures of Hunter Biden,” NewsNation host Dan Abrams said. “There was nothing in the first set of files that suggest an intentional effort to help the Biden campaign win. Bad judgment calls? Absolutely on the laptop story. Is criticism warranted? Yes. Did the left have more access to Twitter executives? Sure seems that way. But this release of information was hardly a bombshell.” “Twitter Files” Part Two: The second batch of “Twitter Files” included images of what appeared to be an internal Twitter system that marked accounts on various “blacklists.” Former New York Times columnist Bari Weiss shared the second installment. Weiss posted multiple images of what looks like an internal Twitter system flagging certain accounts and information about them. Weiss also posted reported screenshots of messages from Twitter’s former head of safety and integrity. In one, he allegedly asked for research on “non-removal policy interventions like disabling engagements and de-amplification/visibility filtering.” Abrams says Twitter had long admitted to essentially not amplifying certain content. He says the social media platform previously admitted they were moderating how tweets are presented in conversations and search. “The new information confirms that with regard to some of the most controversial and sometimes dishonest pundits, anyone could still go to their Twitter pages and see all their tweets, but they wouldn’t be amplified by Twitter. Is that shadow banning, as Weiss and now many on the right claim, or is it just de-amplifying, as they’ve admitted to doing in the past? I guess it depends on how you define it,” Abrams said. “Twitter Files” Part Three: The third installment of the “Twitter Files” reported that Twitter was in communication with a list of government groups. This sparked controversy as to whether Twitter made decisions based on the influence of its employees or of the government. “Twitter files number three focused on internal discussions about banning Trump and also revealed FBI meetings with Twitter security executives and Twitter files, but with nothing to suggest that anyone from the FBI told Twitter how they should handle it,” Abrams said. “Twitter Files” Part Four: Author Michael Shellenberger released part four of the “Twitter Files.” It uncovered information about some Twitter employee reactions to the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Shellenberger shared screenshots of a Jan. 7 conversation between the former Twitter head of trust & safety and an anonymous co-worker who asked to blacklist the terms “stopthesteal” and “kraken,” both sometimes associated with the conspiracy that Trump won the 2020 election. Another conversation that day showed pressure from some employees that may have factored into former CEO Jack Dorsey’s decision to distribute permanent suspensions or bans following violations of community guidelines. “Number four shows that Twitter executives allegedly reinterpreted their terms of service as a pretext to suspend the former president right after the riots, or as Shellenberger tweeted that on January 7, execs ‘created justifications to ban Trump, sought to change policy for Trump alone, distinct from other political leaders and expressed no concern for the free speech or democracy implications of a ban.” “Twitter Files” Part Five: The fifth part of the “Twitter Files” revealed by Bari Weiss on Monday detailed the alleged culture inside Twitter. Musk summed up the culture, tweeting “Under pressure from hundreds of activist employees, Twitter deplatforms Trump, a sitting U.S. president, even though they themselves acknowledge he didn’t violate the rules.” The release of the “Twitter Files” comes just over a month after Musk acquired Twitter.
  16. The moment people start suggesting these with such an air of or sense of self superiority and refusal to budge; I stop wondering why people will believe a magical sky daddy should dictate how they live their lives through the mouth of people like Joel Osmond
  17. Now you're creating a false narrative to defend your position. A position in which someone refusing to accept a human as another species based on "preferred pronouns" would be considered hateful. A person deciding to identify as being a two spirit person leaning towards being a man or a woman against their born "gender norm" is one thing. It's an irrefutable thing. But a person deciding that they deserve to be respected for pretending to cosplay as a cat and demanding to be referred to as such is not normal it is in fact the behaviour of the mentally deficient. The only thing more questionable than that is how people will take this lie; this oft disproved and admitted lie, and use it as an example in and on the most ridiculous basis of "do these people deserve respect for their identity" Look, I get your position. Fine; whatever. You have an issue with people deciding to be gender fluid or to identify as a gender they were not born as. Great. That's on you. But suggesting this is somehow the same is beyond childish. It is akin to saying that because this teenager wants to dye their hair a unique colour; that we should also respect the one that eats paste as being normal.
  18. No it isn't. But you are providing a nice petri dish example of what I have been saying for a long long time. People are so willing to believe a lie, and obvious lie or a ridiculous easily disproved lie, so long as it conforms to their bias. They will then double down and refuse to budge and inch because their bias, leaning or sense of betterment over others based on a position they hold refuses to allow them. I noticed this becoming very common place late in to the second Obama term. It accelerated during Trump and Covid threw all restraint out of the window. Now people will believe that the defense of basic respect for other humans is posting "bs" and that an admitted lie about something this completely ludicrous is somehow true because they can not fathom a situation in which their position could be assailed. To the point of which that video evidence is called fake news. Admissions of guilt are ignored and "my friend the janitor" is more believable than the people who created this obvious lie admitting that, it was in fact a lie. So I mean good for you for refusing to back down; but what a hill to die on.
  19. Carlo DeBrusk 3rd Giving the hottest trade asset in the market away for less than what Chiarot got would be peak Vancouver
  20. Adding my own addition to that now. Manbearpig gender. Because editing a wikipedia page is pretty easy
  21. At this point in time. It might be for the best. twitter seems to be destined to do what large companies with new leadership and no clue or direction seem inclined to do and like the hindenburg; having a window seat is nice but not conducive to surviving.
  22. You absolutely did not see an email from a school board. You absolutely fell for some second hand lies you saw peddled on some kind of right wing rag or from some knuckle dragging bull hog who thinks starbucks hates christmas I had a gal I know, nice gal in her 50's make the exact same claim to me back in the summer. I pressed her for info she said her daughter told her it was happening here in penticton. I said when, she said last week. This was early august. I asked how her daughter who was away with her dad in manitoba saw this in a penticton school during summer break from halfway across the country. She got obstinate. Then I reminded her about how much work I do with the local school boards and she kind of shut up. The thing about lies is they find fertile ground in the biased and the ignorant and judging by some of your doubling down here I would say that this ground sure has had a fertile layer of some kind of cow related material spread on it
  23. Instagram freely admitted to doing so as early as 2014. They wanted to limit the amount of spam accounts and hashtag using individuals. If you think people didn't believe it ok. But most people knew it was a thing
