It’s sad what happened….  Prayers to their families. Can’t imagine loosing a child.

How on earth did they ram a tree though? Single car crash.   Do you know how difficult it is to slam into a tree on your own accord.  Unless they were ripping it and lost control, or intoxicated.

The road they crashed on is a somewhat sharp bend, so the car lost control going around the bend. I drive through the area quite a bit. It could honestly have been anything, we won't really know until an investigation is concluded and can make a guesstimate.

in which we overpaid, everybody know tampa wanted to dump him because of cap space

there's a difference between selling someone to make cap space and "dumping" someone. Miller was a very effective player in his mid 20s in Tampa and wasn't simply a cap dump

Yea this is going to get worse before it gets better.

This whole crying over MSM so I'll be woke by believing YouTube, Newsmax, QAnon, or whatever "alternative facts" they subscribe to is embarassingly stupid.

their "do your own research" mindset is basically "only believe the things that I agree with and nitpick my viewpoints to articles that make me feel better". Some of these people are living in fantasy land and need help

I know how to spell asinine, I was in a rush to finish my post before heading to work and missed the typo.  Maybe throwing words like that around "don't make me any smarter" (see, I can be a grammar nazi too) but it doesn't take a genius to realize that the official narrative of this entire debacle has more holes in it than swiss cheese.  You're not being kind and considerate by putting a piece of cloth over your face.  You're simply going along with the herd and using as an excuse to virtue signal and boss people around.   You should probably get over yourself.

Yeah, people who aren't sick not wearing masks are literally killing people .  And I'm being called dramatic.  Keep virtue signalling though.  Are you a real doctor?  Because your knowledge about this pandemic is absolutely blowing my mind.

is that photo really your argument? Lmao I already know trying to prove you wrong will be like talking to a brick wall

Well false positives have been a thing.

I don't see how that's any worse of a theory than claiming we have eradicated the flu.

they are a thing, I didn't deny that. I also didn't say we eradicated the flu. I said that the data would indicate that the measures we've taken have slowed the spread of the flu, meaning it has the same effect on covid, and if anything that it's more important to have these measures since covid is more lethal and infectious.

If you can't see that as a factor in this then I don't know what to say.

    I'm not picking a side.

    I'm not dividing people.

I want us to start listening to each other and hold the government to better standards.

the government is doing this to prevent hospitals from overloading like we saw in Italy early in the pandemic so that everyone gets equal treatment. These restrictions won't last forever, it's a sacrifice that people need to make to protect the lives of many.

Or maybe some COVID-19 tests, since they've been known to potentially give a false positive result, are picking up false positives when in reality the person getting test has the flu.

    That's another theory.

if you really think that would have a significant effect I don't know what to tell you. The percentage of false positives is not high enough to have a dramatic effect on anything

We'll see if this is true since there was a massive increase in people wearing masks from the mandate.

We should see a drop in cases very soon.

and just to let you know, almost everywhere where there are restrictions has seen a dramatic decrease in cases of influenza. Considering covid is even more infectious than the flu, the amount of covid cases if there weren't restrictions would be much, much higher just taking flu comparisons into account.

we have already seen the 7 day average this week stay flat. We'll see if that continues but it's not an instant fix, it could take 2-3 more weeks to really see a difference. But after Christmas and new years a spike is practically guaranteed because many aren't willing to celebrate virtually

No I'll gladly respond, thanks though.

The efficacy of all masks against different sizes of particles has been studied and I encourage you to read into them because they are very interesting.

As I stated before, when wearing a surgical mask, 0.3-0.5 um particles are filtered at a 74-90% efficacy depending on whether the subject was talking, breathing, coughing, or sneezing.

COVID-19 is somewhere in between 0.06-0.14 um in size. Logic suggests there may be some effect, but once again, 100 particles is all it takes.

This is all in assumption that people are wearing their mask properly and 100% of the time.

We must account for human error which is logically rampant.

IMO these measures are doing nothing.

Agree to disagree, let's just all try to get along.

there are studies that show they are effective in blocking respiratory droplets that carry covid-19. Covid particles may be smaller but many of the droplets that carry the particles aren't. Masks aren't 100% effective but they do play a role in preventing the spread of the virus, especially if everyone is wearing one. There are many, many studies to prove this. Places like Australia and New Zealand are generally living their lives the same way they did pre-covid because the vast majority of people believed the science and took it seriously from the start. You didn't have that here or in most places
