This deal insures the Buffalo Sabres further assured they will be rebuild into perpetuity. Right on brand. We can keep Gaudette I guess... -

“Listen, I’m fed up with losing, and I’m frustrated. It’s definitely not an easy pill to swallow right now. It’s been a tough couple of months. It’s been a tough five years with how things have went.” - Jack Eichel VAN Eichel BUF Virtanen Gaudette Eriksson 1st ‘21” -

HHHHAHAHA! Yes I did. I did indeed. I guess I was talking about how big he can play more than his frame... -

TO Be faaaaaaiiiiiirrrrrr...... I’m wondering if Gaudette is made of that “big man motor” where it takes a while to get the gears going and after a certain amount of games they start firing on all cylinders... Bertuzzi was like that... he looked lazy. Until a certain point and BAM. there he was. Even sometimes just in time for the playoffs... I am not doubting Gaudette’s dedication. He’s got it and that’s what you need in the playoffs. -

Best game so far. Holtby with 35 saves Just an absolute beaut to watch. Juolevi activated. What a talent this young man is. Not intimidated at all. Everyone pretty much chipped in on defense first. They know they can score. Seeing Boeser deep in the defensive zone in a 5-1 third period, defending to his best. He is not an anomaly tonight. Everyone was there. I mean Virtanen played... the book is wide open on him. I feel he needs a psych more than a trade. But... Gaudette was crisp tonight. Skated well, positioned well, passed well, made best of his chances and that will pay off with Green. Gaudette played like he wants to stay. Horvat lead. Period. He was pretty much the epitome of a winning hockey leader. When he’s on, he shines. His play is looser. He is more creative. His team starts skating circles and flowing fast. Could hear players screaming Lucic was coming toward them. Totally disarmed the dude. Team coordination was at its best it’s been since their playoff run. If Höglander is the Toffoli replacement, If Holtby is the Holtby we just saw, If Juolevi is half of what he’ll be, Then the Canucks haven’t missed a beat. This game may not have been hard hitting, but it was a tough one in terms of blocked shots. Nothing to hurt, but it seemed as if they finally figured out that defensive positioning is half the game. Outside of a pretty good siege that lasted a forever what... 40-50 seconds... in the second period, nothing really was of major threat the entire game. I am adverse to saying the Canucks almost dominated the game but I may have said it nonetheless... Benn. His game has become something of great importance to the Canucks. He is really spectacular right now. What an oddity really... Pettersson is all over the place just like he usually is. A few times it could’ve gone in. Hughes is being Hughes. He totally dominates with his speed and skills. Eriksson. What can I say. He was in the lineup tonight. He was also on the ice. He played. The Canucks won. Pay earned. Taking it out a bit on him is kind of a sport onto itself, but overall, the Canucks do seem to appreciate his presence as a player who is excellent at defence, especially in tight late-game situations. They’ve tightened up. The best of this game is how they lit Markstrom and chased him out of the game on his own turf. BAYEiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Great tests of character are coming. Should be fun hockey.
