So that was a great game.
The defense was tight all night long, the speed was high paced and they were clicking.
No doubt that Eriksson’s presence in the lineup drastically increased the morale of the team but most of all, team-round defense.
The Canucks no longer need help in scoring and that is evident. But perhaps Eriksson’s $6,000,000 cap hit is better utilized on the ice as a defensive specialist and an empty netter God.
If Eriksson has so many empty netters, it is because he is notoriously trusted in such situations as end of game duty.
Good on him.
Demko stopped the pucks he should stop. Great to see that the Canucks come on top of the Flames and Markstrom.
Again Pettersson, Boeser, Miller, Höglander and Hughes shine with speed and completed passes. Really fun to watch.
Now Juolevi is fast becoming a favorite of mine. I’m a Canucks fan. Takes a lot. But what a complete game this kid had. Sending some love toward Tkachuck with some good licks...
Beagle who is earning his pay check, as well as Roussel with his face...
Sutter with the empty netter...
And Edler. Edler was made great on CBC tonight. I really felt as if I was watching Canadian hockey. Felt rugged and with a lot of sand paper.
Myers is a tower out there. He’s about to turn the corner on the nasty/penalty line. Really good game from the big guy.
A few times I saw some passes which made my face contort in utter surprise it worked. They clicked tonight.
Watch out. Team Benning is waking up.
And finally, and again, and to remind us all of how good we have it in Canuckland, the team gets full support top down from the owner of the team we love:
