  1. I hope the Karen siren wasn’t a foreshadowing of how the night will go. That was a weak siren.
  2. I’ve been one to say that it was fine to let go of Markstrom (7yrs) and Tanev (10yrs), but I would’ve kept Toffoli (10games). However, replacing them with a 30 year old Cup-winning and Vezina recipient goaltender, as well as another team’s 1D/2D in Schmidt, should be fine. Yesterday was the first practice the team has had since the start of the season (IIRC). Combine this with Pettersson and Hughes’ slow starts, and here we are. They should figure it out soon.
  3. I think the biggest mistake this year is having had Harmonic come in with only one team practice and expecting to 1D and then he gets injured. What the hell was that.... ...well besides not retaining ANY of Markstrom, Tanev or Toffoli. One of three would’ve been fine. Honestly, this was Markstron’s team.
  4. Benning is a genius. Something else is going on. The team hasn’t had time to gel in any way and may have been a bit arrogant coming out of the gates. The loss of Tanev, Markstrom and Toffoli burns big. However, in time, the Canucks are going to be a force.
  5. Not because Green is a bad coach, but more for a new voice which will wake them up. But not yet.
  6. This frenzy doesn’t exist without Höglander rushing toward Price. Real lovely.
  7. “ The Vancouver Canucks have a very interesting relationship with Russian defenseman Nikita Tryamkin, who is still playing in the KHL despite a long negotiation last year. The 26-year-old defender is still technically a restricted free agent and can only sign with the Canucks if he chooses to return to the NHL. Now, Rick Dhaliwal of TSN gives an update on the situation and spoke with Yekaterinburg executive Maxim Ryabkov, who expressed how much Tryamkin has improved in the last year, even calling him “one of the best defensemen in the KHL.” The 6’7″ behemoth pairs incredible size with excellent skating ability to shut down rushes and move the puck quickly. If he is not signed this offseason, Tryamkin can actually become an unrestricted free agent after the 2021-22 season.”
  8. That’s one way to finally force the Hughes - Schmidt combo. It’s Juolevi the 1st rounder’s time to shine.
  9. Not so quick bud. If you don’t like the entire team, find another entire team... much easier.
