Teams are going to take liberties on Pettersson, Hughes, and now Gaudette. Call it a Baptism. MacEwen isn’t the answer. Overall team grit is. Eriksson plays an NHL game. MacEwen is, as per Benning, a for sure regular next year. -

Eriksson eats minutes in the opposition end. In double overtime, he’s the guy that’s grinding it out. -

Well he made third star so that’s good. -
So how ‘bout that Toffoli guy eh?
-
Watch him be a wall.

Stetcher has shown against Boston that he’s got another gear. USE IT. Its great for Stetcher either way. Perform bigger and collect a bigger paycheck whether it’s with the Canucks or another organization.

On a brighter note, re-signing Markstrom should cost less...

I would think that the goaltending coach was consulted on the outgoing goaltender as well as the incoming goaltender. At least it would make sense seeing how tight the top of the organization is running. To hit high more often than not, the entire organization has to have an internal open dialogue policy.

Watch Ian Clark turn Domingue into an even better goalie. Demko will be fine. The Canucks have to start setting the tone early in the game. Too many times they wake up after the first goal against. That has to stop. I think the Miller-Pettersson-Toffoli line takes care of that. Keep them away from our net.

I like the pushback these days. It’s good. 10/30/19 Ferland vs Clifford (LAK) 11/14/19 Benn vs Gurianov (DAL) 12/23/19 Roussel vs Nurse (EDM) 02/06/20 Virtanen vs Zucker (MIN) 02/06/20 MacEwen vs Foligno (MIN) 02/08/20 Miller vs M. Tkachuk (CAL) 02/10/20 Myers vs Watson (NSH) 02/12/20 Gaudette vs Murphy (CHI) 02/12/20 Pearson vs Caggiula (CHI) 02/22/20 Horvat vs Coyle (BOS) 02/22/20 Myers vs Chara (BOS) Didn’t count as a fight. This is a good, feisty team.

So this guy is pissed that Boston injured Markstrom in the eye yesterday. But Markstrom’s eye is fine. It’s his knee that’s injured. Some loose cartilage. Nothing to do with the Boston game. I’m thinking the Canucks and the Markstrom camp are getting this procedure done now so that Markstrom is fresh for the playoffs instead of wearing him further with the upcoming stretch of games.

And rest our #1 for a deep playoff run. @Canadiens @Senators @Maple Leafs @Blue Jackets vs. Islanders * @Coyotes @Avalanches vs. Jets * vs. Lightning * @Ducks @Kings @ Golden Knights vs. Sharks vs. Flames vs. Ducks @Stars @Coyotes vs. Golden Knights All remaining games are winnable for the Canucks. The games with * may be very difficult. But after watching the Boston game, anything is possible. Demko has made as high quality stops as Markstrom so far. If the Canucks win the games they should win, they’re in the playoffs. Vigneault’s rule of “Never lose three in a row” should be written high on the Canucks dressing room.
