Sure. Except the trade was Madden, Schaller, 2nd, conditional 4th. Madeen is 20 years old. How much younger could the potential returns have been? Are you for a perpetual draft and trade? What is Benning supposed to do? Do nothing like Nonis did? Would that bring you comfort? Doing nothing? Its hard to recognize a winning man when you’re used to losers. Outside of Burke and Quinn, no one else can even be in the same conversation as Benning. Im sure you’ll find something to burn down in time.

So there are roughly 713 players in the NHL. How many wives control their man’s balls like this? Pronger’s wife? That doesn’t even count. It’s Deadmonton. Who else? A couple more that we know of? Miller’s wife? He still spent three seasons with the Canucks... I know of only two I can name and two or three I may have known but forgot. So let’s say 10 controlling wives. Let’s say there are 10 wives that hold their man by the balls. That’s 1.4% of players. That’s 1.4% chance Toffoli doesn’t sign with the Canucks because of his wife.

[Speculation] Canucks interested in Wayne Simmonds
Me_ replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
As per Eliotte Friedman... Toffoli is a Boeser replacement. Ferland has not been replaced and Simmonds may still be in play. -
Look. The Canucks had to give in order to get and they’re quite the team this year. I suspect that if an elite team can have an off year, a recently rebuilt team can have a great year... The Canucks added 47 playoff games and a 20-30 goal scorer in his prime with one of his best friend already on the team. I think the fans are going to enjoy watching Toffoli play. As for the potential in Madden, even if the Canucks don’t pick in the 1st or 2nd round next year, Benning will still eventually compensate for the Madden loss with a great pick down the line. I’m not worried about the draft and the pipes. I’m worried about making the playoffs.

Madden IS. a mid range prospect. And as stated many times in this thread, Madden may not have have wanted to re-sign and he sure wasn’t going to crack the lineup in the middle any time soon.
