  1. Hughes and Tanev aren’t married. if Subban were to come in, you can be sure it’d be: HUGHES - SUBBAN
  2. If we want Tanev to avoid injury, he should never be on the first pairing. Homerism let’s you see Tanev as greater than Subban.
  3. Well the Canucks make the playoffs this year, TBL gets the pick. If not, it’s a 2021 pick and the Canucks retain their 2020 pick. Either way, the Canucks win.
  4. Yeah just saw. Philly is 57K under the cap. Canucks, 30K. With LITR relief: Philly: 499K Canucks: $1.246M
  5. As per Ben Kuzma: ”The Philadelphia Flyers have lost four wingers in the past 10 days but don’t have the salary cap space to claim him.” So... we retain, we get picks? PHI Sutter @ 50% Bärtschi @ 50% VAN 1st EDIT: check that, the Flyers have 57 thousand dollars available under the cap.
  6. Nonetheless, just saw that Miller is the 15OA11. So a sure fire 26 year old 1st for a future 1st was the deal. Canucks definitely have to do something.
  7. 30yr old offensive RD? That plays with immense passion? ANY TIME. Should’ve been a Canucks in 2017. NJD Sutter and/or Bärtschi (NJD’s choice) Eriksson Stetcher VAN PK Subban It’s fresh air for four/ five faces. HUGHES - SUBBAN EDLER - MYERS BENN - TANEV THAT. is a stacked D.
  8. It’s bad for everyone that Hall is back in the West. But it’s Hall. He’ll get injured. Phoenix will have an end of year garbage sale as always.
  9. Ouch... the last line... THAT’S JB saying exactly that. Work it out and be grateful. All teams have their logistical problems to deal with.
  10. It doesn’t work that way. All teams have their own problematics. The Canucks have the Bärtschi conundrum whereby not only was he surpassed by better players, he can’t stay in the lineup because of repeat concussion problems. Unreliable for the consistency demanded of a top six role. Eriksson signed with the wrong team and went for cash. Result: he’s stuck here until his contract ends because neither he, nor his contract gets better. It is the hopes that when he collects his bonus, he also collects his pension. Schaller was signed along with Roussel and Beagle to bring in some grit. Two out of three ain’t bad. I assume he gets picked up at the deadline or not re-signed by the Canucks. Sutter/Tanev are very good players who bring it every night. However, the amount of injuries those two get every year renders constructing a team around them impossible. They should be counted on as supplementary players; not primary, go-to players. But not one doubt the Canucks are better when they play. Hopefully Ferland doesn’t make this list. We need at least another one of those in the lineup.
  11. There are thirty other teams you can cheer for bud. You really don’t need to suffer anymore. Go find your team bud. Fly bud, fly!
  12. No thanks to Bogosian. That time missed is significant.
  13. Canucks Notes: Trade Target, Markstrom, Sutter December 13th, 2019 at 7:46pm CST • By Zach Leach The Vancouver Canucks are exceeding expectations this season and, after a brief slide, are back to their winning ways with twelve points in their past ten games. The team is currently sitting in the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, but trail Calgary and Edmonton in the division by just four points with two games in hand, a difference of just .025 in points percentage. Rather than take this surprise success for granted, GM Jim Benning plans to take advantage. Speaking with Sportsnet’s Iain MacIntyre on Wednesday, Benning said that he is targeting a top-six scoring winger before the NHL Trade Deadline. He did qualify his comments by adding that the deal must “make sense”, but did not say exactly what that meant. With nine forwards carrying cap hits of $3MM+ through 2020-21, a trade that makes sense for Vancouver is likely a rental deal. The team is also unlikely to get into the bidding for a star like Taylor Hall if it causes too much of a mortgage on their future in a year where a Stanley Cup run would take a fair amount of luck even with their solid play thus far. Potential targets who would nicely on the wing in Vancouver this season could include Vladislav Namestnikov, Alex Galchenyuk, Tyler Toffoli, or perhaps even Chris Kreider. There is still a lot of time left before the deadline and Vancouver’s play between now and then will dictate just how willing Benning in his to make a big deal. Link
  14. I’m sure you meant Hughes AND Subban. You know... Subban’s high salary and his rumoured locker room problem... I mean... if they really want to get rid of him... I wouldn’t force their hand but...
