  1. Yep. Dead on. He gets his 25 goals playing more than anyone in the NHL besides Crosby but he doesn't pass. The whole team suffers. When he went down with injury, the team played much better. Reminds me of when Iginla left Calgary. As a team, they started to play better.
  2. Kesler played top two minutes in the league after Crosby. The more Kesler plays, the less the team scores.
  3. the Luongo and Schneider trade are way too early to tell: fact. Luongo forced Gillis to move Schneider during the draft: how did Luongo "force" Gillis to move Schneider? The market was bare, the new CBA called for a retraction in cap space, Florida did not have new willing spender ownership. then Luongo got pissy and wanted to move again when another goalie outplayed him: Luongo was surprised to be moved. Again, you don't risk a Luongo injury in the process of trade discussion. Lack plays the Heritage Classic. he gets what he wants and screws the team again: how did Luongo "screw the team again"? I think Gillis pooched that one... Luongo didn't trade himself, and was caught off guard. he could of easily accepted a trade during the draft Schneider got moved instead: non fact. Florida wasn't interested at the time. The goalie market was bare and Luongo's "contract sucks". he was stubborn and would only accept a trade to Florida: known fact so he doesn't have to deal with the spot light because he couldn't handle anymore: assumption. The other, more well known assumption is, Luongo wanted to go back home to his family. So yes, there's a lot of wrong with the dude's post.
  4. Ballard, Booth, Luongo to FLA, C. Schneider to NJD, M. Schneider, Ehrhoff to NYI, just a line of bad trades. Some good ones. But bad trades outweigh the good trades ever slightly, but with the parity in today's NHL, one bad trade can mean years of mediocrity.
  5. How about just cutting it short and find a new city to work in anyways... The media in Vancouver isn't as good as they think they are.
  6. Not melodramatic at all. That's eXACtly what happened. However, I believe Benning is indeed a very patient man but to a point. Benning trading Kesler and Edler is most likely going to garner better returns than Gillis trading Kesler and Edler. Benning has league wide respect. Of course, there's no way to measure this.
  7. Shinkaruk is an excellent player if surrounded by Kassian, Horvat, Matthias, the Sedins... Big, strong, skilled, old and young. Everything really.
  8. What's with putting the initials only? Trying to save bandwidth like paper?
  9. Miles ahead of the Canucks on a rebuild... That's because the Canucks are NOT rebuilding. They're staying the course while inserting youth in the lineup.
  10. He specifically said he'd give then instruction and help them get better. He also hesitated to go further with a "but if" sentence that would have sounded like "but if they can't do the job they'll be replaced". Good people or not is irrelevant. He looks like the type of guy who will fire you on the spot if you don't do your job properly, management or player. "Properly" in this case is the Benning way. Not one current Canucks scout can claim to be more knowledgeable about young upcoming players.
  11. I'm not worried about what Benning says, and even less worried about what he does. Hockey man. That means hockey trades, great drafts and a Cup. 5 years max.
  12. Guy sounds real no bull sh*t to me. Efficient answers. Gillis was expedient.
  13. No. The only question regarding "others" went to Linden. Apparently there were other candidates interviewed too. Nothing on Benning being interviewed by other organizations.
  14. And Alexander came upon the disentangling of the impossible Gordian knot... ...and slashed it with his sword.
  15. Hey Benning, what are you going to do about Kesler? It's my first day on the job (laughs) Hey Benning, how about those NTCs? You gonna ask to wave them? If it makes sense yes. I like this guy. He'll make Linden look really good.
  16. What does it say about a writer who isn't read for almost 10 days after publication? Exactly.
  17. Yep. Finally. This is a man who's not afraid to make decisions. Finally. Also, Trots is the guy. Only via deduction here. Seems like Trevor slipped on the coach. When talking about the style of play and if the current players are adequate for that style of play (22:06) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jkNhXQ-e6c Trevor goes to talk about the future coach and says: "...or not defensive enough..." with a smile...
  18. CDC. Somebody has to lose. No trade is ever fair. Next in discussion is the Nash trade.
