  1. "reiterating" he won't ask players to waive their NTC is in fact, asking players to at least entertain the thought by putting it out there. And if he did, they wouldn't be traded anyways because it would light a fire under their ass. Now if Edler can stop scoring on Luongo, it would give a few points back to the team. Nothing is more deflating than a player scoring on his own team... repetitively.
  2. I remember I went to a baby shower party and I bought this rocking chair right? So we take it out of the box and and it's the biggest present the newborn has in his life. We're about twenty people. So we put the vibrating chair on the floor, the baby goes and and we turn it on. And we're all staring. And someone says: "We'll that's that then". The bold moves are not necessarily explosive in nature.
  3. If the Canucks unload, then yes, I can see this type of scenario occurring. I guess the consolation prize comes in two to three years, where we as fans, are subjected to watching three young player take over the league... D. SEDIN - H. SEDIN - KASSIAN SHINKARUK - HORVAT - MANTHA However, the potential Detroit would acquire in trading for Edler as their potential T1D, far outweighs the potential of Kesler's services. I don't know if Detroit has enough desirable pieces in return for both Kesler and Edler combined. DET Edler Kesler VAN ?
  4. The Sedins find themselves exactly where Luongo also finds himself; they're expected to carry the team without any viable extra help. It would also help if Edler stopped scoring on his own team.
  5. Puck possession... I don't see Detroit dump and chase every shift... the Canucks however...
  6. "still"... a solid D core... "still"... doesn't win Cups.
  7. Give him until the trade deadline. If he's still not "normal" as in producing as he has with the Sedins, OUT. Or put him on the third. And if it comes between Hansen or Burrows, I'll take Burrows any day; $4,000,000/ yr is a hefty price for a third liner though. But it's Burrows. The Canucks need scoring. Callahan might be available. I think Burrows going to NYR in a package for Callahan is a great idea.
  8. I think Burrows would continue his great play under AV in New York. Let the Canucks get Callahan. He's a Tortorella guy.
  9. Do the Canucks really need Burrows? Pre-Tortorella - YES Post-AV - NO
  10. If Daniel is done as a scorer (which I do not believe is the case) then extend his career by making him the 2C.
  11. Schroeder will not make it in the Pacific Division. Better trade him to a Southern team or at least an Eastern team.
  12. I was extremely impressed with Stanton's play. Hope he takes off from where he left. Canucks getting healthy again!
  13. That suspension would have occurred to any NHL coach. Walking to the opposition's room is entirely out of line. I do agree with Torts for doing so, and I do agree with the NHL for their decision in the matter. What I don't agree with is Hartley's fine. He should be suspended as long as Tortorella because Hartley has a history. Six games/ 15 days is fine. More than that, I would have questioned the integrity of the league. But nonetheless, the message must be passed; that such behavior will not be tolerated. But again. Six games for a Cup is fine by me.
  14. Didn't the Canucks win the game? How unfortunate that is...
  15. Is it just me or Hartley is saying "go fff**** youself" and then goes hide... ... and on another note, don't you find Martin Gelinas looks like Jean-Claude Van Damme?
  16. Dude. Please. The "organization's full support for John". "Look forward to having him back behind the bench soon." What is there not to like?
  17. Not necessarily, but the team toughness program the Canucks are going through is one of the team bonding element that wins you Cups.
  18. Not only on the ice, but off the ice too. No other coach could wake this team up and there they are. Six games for a Cup is a price I'll pay any day.
  19. I don't think most will realize how intelligent this post is. How better to inspire the young players in the organization with a personal visit by their potential future bench boss; akin to a President visiting a city in terms of positive exposure.
  20. Torts is the kind of guy that will give 8% of his remaining salary to Canucks charities anyways.
  21. Watch Paul Bissonette's comments on TSN. Yandle sounds like he wouldn't fare very well under Torts. Bissonette on the other hand... Total respect.
  22. I fully endorse what Tortorella did. Hartley went against protocol and Torts responded accordingly. He defended the integrity of the Canucks organization with the decision to match the opening lineup. Our turf. The only part that doesn't fit in the game and will be the reason why Tortorella is fined and/or suspended, is his visit to the Flames' dressing room, which I am personally fine with considering the situation. This even does not look bad at all. It is a major accent on what the Canucks are becoming. Instead of matching the lowly Flames and Oilers, the Canucks are starting to become the force they must be in order to beat the California3. We as fans, have not seen such grit since long long ago and I'm very glad to see them dance with the best. The league can slap the Canucks with whatever they want. Tortorella is the man and they know it.
  23. Kassian plays for the Vancouver Canucks. Special treatment from the league.
