Dude. Best story of the year so far is how youth has been served and how each is turning out to be damn good. Tanev, T4D and definitely holds his own, even making Olympic-bound Hamhuis look like a journeyman; and that's not to take anything from Hamhuis himself. Kassian, 22, is slowly making us forget Hodgson ever existed as much as he's making us see another Bertuzzi develop. Stanton, 24, is as solid as they come and as responsible as wished by most coaches. Currently injured but a very fine player. Weise is only 25. He's holding his own out there. Sestito is the big whale that got rescued on a rough beach and put back to sea. He's surprised all of us so far and is making waves with a bit of a scoring touch and a flare for the rough stuff. Dalpe, 24, is a pretty damn good trade for a hockey player, playing for one heart; Sarah. Looks good with the Sedins. Archibald, 23, is starting to knock on the Canucks' door. He looks to be a brute with good talent. Very promising. Lack, 26, who is just absolutely happy to back up Olympic-bound Roberto Luongo forever as long as he gets to play in the NHL from time to time. His numbers are nothing but impressive. Not bad for a "veteran" team...

What is news and, most of all, what isn't news... Yes... O'Reilly or Statsny.

Kassian has to play himself to the top line ASAP for the benefit of all. He's the Canucks' answer to Brown. That means Kassian has to learn to play between the lines of what is allowed and what isn't. Brown is the type who will legally run over your best player and never look back. Brown is the type of player that will run over your goalie after scoring a goal. Brown, is feared. Lucic-style. So come on Bertuzzi, watch Brown and Lucic tapes and become Zach Kassian.

Sign me up. Even if it takes a little more than Burrows, Callahan is obviously more adapted to the Torts system than to the AV system, while I also believe that is the case for Burrows; love the guy, but he's an AV go-to guy. Edler is also struggling in Vancouver as well as Del Zotto in New York. Again, I believe it is a case of each player not fitting in their new system. What is the proof of such rare observation is the direct Vanvouver-New York switch between AV and Tortorella. There are casualties of the new system on both teams and I believe both teams and the players themselves would strongly benefit from such a switch to their old coach. NYR Edler Burrows VAN Callahan Del Zotto Both Edler and Burrows's switch to a new system has been horible; one can also say the same for Schroeder. Their production has been turned off while all other Canucks' players have lit up. Booth, Kassian and Sestito have bought into the system, as well as seek external help and it has worked, all the way up to feel-good story in Santorelli and Weise. If Edler, Burrows and Schroeder, are the casualties of the system, they are the price to pay for having an entire team lead by beast mode Kesler, two Forsberg in the Twins, and an inspired Luongo who might be toiling under the perfect coach for him.

You obviously haven't watched the Canucks play this year. Booth is leaps and bounds improved. His skating has been realigned into form and it shows. Goals are starting to come to. If you have a problem with Booth, you definitely have a problem with Burrows.
-
He's coming nicely around. He's a keeper. The Canucks are a world class organization that takes care of its own rather impeccably. Booth himself has seeked help and it is paying direct dividend.

Luongo is our man.

There would be a fundamental problem if we started calling all 22 year olds disappointments. He's a baby adult FFS... Give it a rest.

Under Tortorella, Higgins is indeed a T6F.
-
That's because his lover is in New York.

That's it right there; they couldn't hurt. Been saying it for years now. The Canucks have a great 1C and a great 3C. But the Canucks are Kesler's bitch. They NEEEEED a 2C. Of course Roy was a great acquisition but I have a feeling he wasn't even offered a contract for we would have heard of it. I hope whoever replaces Gillis keeps Torts.

Shinkaruk and Horvat sure would help right now. When you have two kids like that, you MAKE space for them. Very simple.

(Article)NHL goalie rankings: Is Luongo still elite?

I'm sure he'll be fine. Increased defense, back to being number one, new coach who I'm sure ultimately had a say in who he wants as his goaltender. Confidence is high. -

He is still top 5 in the league indeed. -
When Booth stops killing God's creations for leasure, he'll be right in preaching. Until then, just play hockey.

The Kings also have Doughty. That's the major difference here.

I read the article. It once again makes the media look like a bunch if soccer moms who can't handle a little adversity. I say unleash the beast in Tortorella unto them and let him rip them a big new one for their sins against this team. Their hope that he can be softened and the "last chance in the NHL" bits are exactly the type of stupidity these idiots keep cramming into people's brains. I respect the whole diversion of questions regarding the team. Let the coaching staff and the team figure out the team; not the fans and certainly not the media.

On numerous occasions, whether in war or peace, at the office, in arts, wherever an entire group is needed on the same page for the work to be done, the sacrifice of one person can do wonders for the rest of the group. No better place to look than Jesus, followed a few hundred years later by inquisition and public sacrifice in order to gel the masses into Carholicism. Wartime is also laced with sacrifice, especially in Early China. When a member of the Russian army would surrender, they would be killed on their run back. Keanan had the right mentality on Sanderson.

Interesting point. But leaving MG in charge until the turnaround would be a massive black eye. I wouldn't mind Keanan again as GM. Whether one hates him or hates him, the Linden trade has and continues to pay massive dividend. Keanan/ Tortorella duo would be fire in and ocean.
