  1. OEL has regressed? Or did Hughes come back and OEL took second seating? Did you watch OEL play in Hughes’ absence? He was nothing short of spectacularly solid. Name me one perfect defenseman. Do it. Still waiting. The Canucks could have had Weber/Pronger/Niedermayer/Stevens and you’d still argue for their demise. This uselessly over-critical media and the useless fans who parrot it are the main reasons why players refrain from signing here, and when they do, the organization has to overpay for them to accept.
  2. Not to that extent. But Boeser is indeed replaceable. Maybe the easiest and best piece to move in order to better the rest of the team.
  3. Good. Excellent in fact. The worst part of our drafting, is that this may be the best drafting done in franchise history in terms of 1st rounders. The bar wasn’t that high outside of the Sedins and Linden.
  4. We are nowhere near Tampa Bay or the Avalanches of this year, you are right. But at a .638 winning percentage and a hot playoff goalie, we are definitely able to compete with Minnesota, Calgary, St-Louis, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville for a playoff spot. When the Canucks are in the playoffs, they can shut the door hard. They’re not made of garbage collectively declining players whose last goal was buried by desert dunes long ago. A full-season Boudreau-led Canucks team makes the playoffs last year. They’re going to make the playoffs next year. Name one organization that is carrying all of their 1sts to successful careers; none.
  5. OUR PROSPECTS ARE PLAYING IN THE NHL What farm grows simultaneously as you harvest it? None. Now is the time to sow the farm once again. Let’s just make sure we don’t sell the house while at it.
  6. 1. This is going to be an ongoing problem for every team in the league. It is part of the game. We’re talking over 500+ points left in Miller in the next 3-4 years. 2. What culture are you looking to change? A .638 winning percentage under the coach they replaced before replacing the entire management team with Cup winners? The team that started to play louder than Miller’s swearbegging to the universe for another system than Green’s? You want to replace that guy? The guy who won the culture change on the ice. He offended you with swear words? 3. So you’re a bank robber. What’s the colour of your bandana? You don’t easily replace the chemistry that produces 99 points on the top line. That doesn’t happen. You’re looking for a Kumbaya ride down fantasyland where all incoming players contribute? Who brings in a veteran winning coach who himself admits is good for the next four years, hires a Cup winning management team, hires winning hockey women in that management team, only to take a few step back in years to be better by the time our top young players are slowed by father times? Who does that.
  7. Per! Peh! Tchu! Al! Ree! buil!! Per! Peh! Tchu! Al! Ree! Bui…….. Oh wait…. I thought this was a Cup aspiration team rally. Sorry wrong room.
  8. Why not just sign Miller… Why when you have one of the shiniest toys in the sandbox would ever want to exchange it for three smaller toys?
  9. Winnipeg offers rich young players in the tip top shape of their physical career and pockets full of cash, the excellent museum of human rights, three good restaurants, and a couple of bars where if the crowd isn’t in one, they’re in the other. New York is a tetramall from downtown to midtown. THOUSANDS. of restaurants of all Worley cultures. Idannaaaaaaaaaaa….. Maybe the PLD is on to something…
  10. Sure. NYR Miller 3rd VAN Lafrenière Schneider Chytil 30OA22
  11. Well if the Canucks squeak into the playoffs, they’ll make a lot of noise with their shiny.
  12. Not necessarily. Again there is a macro microscope on these players in Vancouver. I’m sure the Rutherford gang can get a pretty good return on Boeser.
  13. No. He’s an exception. A 6’7” exception at that with serious strength seldom seen in this league. Like Chara, he makes others look like teens around him.
  14. Or just trade him. Period. The Canucks no longer need Boeser. That’s Podkolzin’s spot now.
  15. So you’re against signing UFAs then. They ALL. sign for more than they are worth.
  16. Ok so let’s make sure he never comes back. Simple. $3MIL is nothing. Pearson $3.250 Dickinson $2.650 Myers $6.00
  17. One must consider that $1MIL in Canada is $20MIL in Mokba in terms of lifestyle…
  18. So Tryamkin at $4MIL would also be fine no? Minus the Canadian taxes, Tryamkin isn’t coming back for equal to less than what he’s currently making.
