Everyone has some garbo takes. So I don't hold Burkies misses against him, just like I'd hope people here wouldn't hold my garbage takes against me. Lol. He has passion about the sport and a lot of knowledge. He is by no means perfect, but I do respect his knowledge. I was also worried about Hughes' size at the draft. So again, not something I'd say "wow look at that dumb take." Guy is human like the rest of us. Right sometimes, wrong sometimes. But overall I think he is one of the better media personalities. He's not a guy that'll say "Canucks looking to trade Boeser" or something equally idiotic. So he is not a guy I have near the top of my "don't listen to" list.

Weird that I never heard of him til now. My prospect knowledge is lacking. -
Proposal - Edit: Matt Sekeres is bad at headlines
JeremyCuddles replied to Moose Nuckle's topic in Canucks Talk
I don't mind speculating on rumors, but you have to admit a lot of people lost their minds when they read the Boeser rumor tweet and immediately went at Benning "if he didn't sign bottom 6ers to bad contracts we could keep Boeser". Despite the fact we could keep Boeser anyway. So it all comes down to people reading the rumors being more intelligent/insightful. Not everything these media types post has legitimacy to it. So I don't think boycotting these guys will amount to much, I already do but I see their posts when CDC posts their tweets here. Fans just gotta do more critical thinking and stop getting played by the media. Sekeres will always have an audience on Twitter. It's the nature of twitter. Especially the Vancouver fanbase of Twitter. The media knows we question damn near everything. We're probably the only team that gives a rat's ass about the director of amateur scouting. So of course they're gonna try rile us up. It's easy as pie. -

Wanted to go Panarin but Draisatl was just too good this season imo. -
[Signing] Blue Jackets sign Mikhail Grigorenko

I hope it gets voided again just so they can sign it a 3rd time. I like things done in threes. -
[Report] Canucks to part ways with Judd Bracket
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
He didn't fire Brackett, he offered him a contract that Brackett refused. Brackett was power tripping, and Benning rightfully wants to be apart of those discussions/conversations. Brackett made his demands known and Benning said "see ya". Yeah Benning should just "accommodate" his plans by giving most/all of the drafting power to Brackett. -
He had 15 points in 16 games when injuries hit this roster. Is he a point per game guy? No, but he brings points regularly as well as physicality. Especially when he plays with good players. I don't see how people expect him to produce 50+ points with guys like Beagle, Roussel, and Sutter as his linemates. Gaudette is okay, but lacks any sort of defensive game and faceoff skills to make that line work regularly. People are unbelievably hard on a guy that was on pace for 40+ points 20+ goals playing 13 minutes a game. That seems pretty good, if not great, scoring for a 3rd liner that also lays the body and mixes it up in scrums.

2 year entry level? Is he like 23/24? -
Multiple Montreal Canadiens players test positive

As a Virtanen fan, I miss the days when every thread was about Eriksson. At least it made some sense back then. People are just nitpicking Virtanen at this point. "Dude crossed the road and looked right then left. Can't trust him in the playoffs. Trade him for a bucket of pucks, 3 jockstraps, and a 6th round pick." -
[Report] Wild name Dean Evason as head coach

Dang, they didn’t even have a legit coach til just now. How have they been playing under this feller? Pretty good I imagine. -
(Proposal) Boeser to Ottawa for Tkachuk

Why do you hate Boeser? Sending him to Ottawa of all places. That's just shameful. Guy doesn't deserve that. -

Virtanen left the bubble, the one that hasn’t even started yet? Or are you just an idiot overreacting to Virtanen going out one night? Don’t need to answer, I already know which side of the pendulum you sit on. -
If Kole Lind is playing games for us we are having major injury problems and are not winning the Cup. Lol. I am optimistic about Lind, but I dunno if he's NHL ready just yet, let alone playoff hockey ready.

[Article] Top 10 Seasons for Canuck Goaltenders
JeremyCuddles replied to -AJ-'s topic in General Hockey Discussion
Not a single Cloutier season, that makes me sad. Lol. I am the rare Cloutier fan. Also still very mad Lu didn't win the Vezina during the 06/07 season. Downright criminal. But I guess when a goalie breaks the single season win record you are borderline obligated to give it to him. -
Hughes is gonna score 60 goals next season. Quote me on it.

Leave it to the anti Benning crowd to lean heavily into this. We have no problem keeping all the important pieces of this roster going forward. Even if Boeser is being shopped around it's for a top 4 D in the same age range. Spoiler alert he'll probably have a 5-6mil price tag at least. Thus changing nothing in the cap situation. It's okay to do some thinking before flipping out. This guy later said Boeser isn't on the block or being actively shopped. They are just exploring the possibility of trading him. I bet they think of it for literally every player on the roster. Just the nature of the business.

Definitely feel like this team could catch some teams by surprise. It all comes down to goalies getting hot for you at the right time. It's why some media types say it's scary that Montreal has a chance at playoffs. Since they have a goalie that can steal you games. I love Marky and feel like he's a top 10 goalie in the league. It'll be interesting how our young inexperienced forwards do though. This is why I loved that Toffoli trade so much. His experience, Pearson's experience and Miller's experience will be incredibly important. This team can go a round or two if Marky gets rolling. If our forward group matches that we could see something special this playoffs. With that said I am happy if we beat Minnie and give the first round team a hard fought 4/5 games (I am assuming the first round is 5 games).

(Proposal) - Meier for Boeser
JeremyCuddles replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Stop trying to trade Boeser. Especially for a guy with a worse contract. His qualifying offer will be 10mil. Boeser has character, talent, and lots of room to grow still. He has known chemistry with both of our top 2 centers. Meier for all we know won't. Boeser is heart and soul. He may not crash and bang. But he plays hard. Fans need to stop trying to trade him. Unless the deal is unrealistically one sided towards us. Not a sideways move made for the sake of making a move. -

If you have a link on Benning being a control freak, I'd like to see it. It's Benning's ass on the line when a pick sucks. Of course he wants say in the draft. Cause you guys will, and did, give Brackett all the credit for good picks and all the blame went to Benning. He may as well not give up power in the draft.
