People with too much time on their hands. Hell, even when the world wasn't shutdown Jake couldn't take a s*** without CDC getting upset about which hand he holds the toilet paper with.

There's a reason why his immediate reaction was to call his agent and ask if he can get him a job in the KHL. The guy was indeed on the way out of the league well before even saying anything stupid. 16 career goals in 187 games with 5 different teams over 4 seasons. Calling him a plug is disrespectful to plugs honestly. His only moment of relevancy in the NHL was coming to Vancouver and getting carried by our captain for 14 games.

Bo just had a son, could see him potentially sitting and I wouldn't fault him for it.

If you have nothing in your house you can order food and get it delivered. The idea that going out to a restaurant is okay but a bar is not seems pretty double standard-ish. Sorry for a lack of a better word. There's always an option to just stay cooped up. We all go out for reasons that aren't deemed 100% necessary, or at least I imagine most of us do.

Unpopular take, I never got the Ballard hate.
JeremyCuddles replied to CanadianRugby's topic in Canucks Talk
I don't think anyone hates Ballard, just like we didn't really hate Gudbranson. The trades to get them weren't very good though. A 1st rounder and Grabner is a bitter pill to swallow for what amounted to a 5/6 d-man. Yes Florida got nothing from the pick or Grabner, but still. I guess in hindsight Gillis likely would have gotten nothing with that pick either. Makes the trade more palatable in retrospect. Lol. -
Y’all ever get tired of complaining about Virtanen?

Looks just like Bo already. LOL. Congrats to the Horvat family.

Even when white was the home colour I preferred the darker jerseys. White is kinda boring. Keep the team colours as the home jerseys imo. White will suffice on the road.

I'd argue our chances at the cup are just as good as our chances of winning first overall. Lol. The poll was designed in a way to try get us to root against our team. Of course anyone with a brain chooses guaranteed first overall pick over one playoff round. That's like saying You choose A] Million dollars tax free or B] a really good pizza

Still mad about Eriksson, Gagner, and Schaller or what? Lol. Benning has been a damn fine GM as far as I am concerned. He literally came into this team with fossils for players and one prospect worth a damn. That was Horvat. Our 2nd best prospect (Shinkaruk) was only worth a bottom 6 player. Benning had some growing pains early but this team is in a great position. The only real blemish is Eriksson, and maybe taking Juolevi over Tkachuk/Sergachev.

Why I don't want the Canucks winning the Cup this year
JeremyCuddles replied to EP40.'s topic in Canucks Talk
I am a young guy, so I have many years ahead of me. Knock on wood I don't pass tragically. So I do understand waiting for that "perfect wedding" scenario. Fans in the stands going wild. Crazy cool parades. But, I just want a Cup man. I'll be at home going wild with my old man and that's all the atmosphere I need. The Cup is the hardest trophy to win in any sport in my books. At the very least it's up there. I don't have it in me to root against my team. Even when we were tanking for better picks I didn't have it in me to cheer for losses. I wasn't mad when we lost, but I'd never actively hope for a loss. Same principle here. I want the Canucks to succeed. I don't care about losing for 12.5% odds at Lafreniere, don't care if we win it all and the stands are empty. Hell I'd be fine winning the play-in and losing first round as long as the boys get experience. Winning the Cup is best case scenario. Period, end of story. Fans or no fans in the stands. -
Win, cause we’re not winning the lottery. Lets be real. Lol. Winning and getting playoffs at least means something.

The fact I watch on TV should reinforce my case. If the attacking team is pushing the puck, I shouldn't be able to see Jake back checking. Since it would not show him. If what you said about him were true. Lol. Jake can catch pretty much everyone in the league in a foot race, he knows it. It's literally the one part of his defensive game I know is among the best on the team, especially when fully engaged in the game. I will die on this hill. Edit: Regardless, eye liek dis guy Hawglandur

Jake was one of our only back checking forwards. Was I watching different games?

I’m sure there are some businesses and arena staff that would not benefit from a hold out. It’s not as simple as players vs owners. Hotels get business from players, thus staff get work, ice staff get business from games. I want hockey back not just as a fan but as a person that wants these people not making millions to get some work.

Marky MVP, Hughes most exciting and best defenseman. That's all I know for sure. Unsung could go to Stech. He played well and I think with how many fans wanted him gone don't realize how good he is. He battles hard and plays sound defense. Height watchers be damned.

[Report] Canucks to part ways with Judd Bracket
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Head scouts don't make the final decision, which is what Brackett wanted to do (apparently). The way the scouting works with the Canucks there isn't one guy making the decision. A Scout scouts players, puts his list in. The GM/scouting department can decide whether or not to go with any of those player. Unless we know without a shadow of a doubt which players Benning wanted looking at the draft history of the teams he was head scout for wouldn't mean much. We'd be speculating as to which guys were his guys. Just like we do with Brackett. Except Brackett fans like to give him credit for all the hits and Benning the blame for the misses.
