  1. At this point I’d have a good shot at cracking Detroit’s roster. Can see the appeal of Detroit over Vancouver from that standpoint.
  2. If the cap goes down this contract will be very helpful. Lol. Looking at our middle 6 I’d say he’s better than most.
  3. I never wanted him in any of those years. Feel like I am apart of “everybody and their dog”. I never wanted the guy at any point of his time in the NHL. Guy is a roided out meatball missing some screws. So if Pepperidge farm remembers all of us wanting this guy it may be just as lost as nutshot Lucic.
  4. Why is Tryamkin getting more money than Virtanen? Guy has done little at the NHL level. Had one full NHL season, that he showed up out of shape for but nobody mentions yet constantly bring it up for Jake. Also Jake was on pace for 20+ goals, 40+ points. But a 3rd pairing guy that was outta the league for the last 3 years deserves more money? Maybe I’m crazy.
  5. Burke is a smart man with good insight. At this point people don’t seem to trust anyone.
  6. Given the totals from this season I could see them being 85-95 point guys at least
  7. Terrible news. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones.
  8. Nylander, the soft perimeter player, oddly enough has a lot of 15 and in shots. Gonna be really honest with you, this is a very niche stat and something tells me it's not a big deal. Lots of those players are playing on teams not in the playoffs. Boston doesn't have a single player on that list. Would you say they aren't a playoff contender? Same with the Blues.
  9. Wish her all the best. Lots of pressure on her, not necessarily from everyone but there will be some old school fans that will microanalyze every move she makes to reinforce the idea women don't belong. Hockey needs more women/people of colour in big time positions. Really hope this works out positively.
  10. Going with Ronning Kinda shocked Tanman got in before Hammer, but I’ll keep nominating Hammer til he gets in.
  11. I am very surprised the modern stick in the rink is neck and neck with the original. I think the modern one is gross.
  12. Not to be that whiney guy but Salo in the top 20 is more than, interesting. Especially ahead of more prominent d-men like Jovo, Lidster, Hamhuis and Bieksa. All guys I’d say were superior players overall. That’s not even including BMo and Cliff Ronning still floating around. Democracy has spoken though. I continue the BMo campaign. Get Hammer in there. A legit shutdown D-man. He was Colton Parayko before Colton Parayko was Colton Parayko. His hip checks were legendary. Until one derailed him and our Cup hopes.
  13. Yeah he had a down year this year, at least compared to last year. But still an interesting add. I mean, he brings literally nothing that they don't already have. They need defense, especially when they lose Barrie this summer. They needed defense even with Barrie. Good cheap option to fill out the roster at least. He very likely knows they are in cap hell and will for sure get a bottom 6 spot. Lol.
  14. Only 26 yet he got that 50 year old man name. Happy B-day to Tony Stretcher.
  15. What’s Demko’s Twitch? I’m all about that Twitch life lately.
  16. Time to run it back again. Voting BMo/Nominating Hammer
  17. Voting BMo Nominating Hammer again, we’ll get you in there soon enough.
  18. Mogilny on pure talent alone. Nominating Hammer. BC boy, was my fav Canuck while he was here. He seems like a really good dude too.
  19. The Edmonton/Schneider deal comes to mind. Don’t remember the specifics of it exactly. Subban for our 5th overall, but Columbus took Dubois before. Another Subban deal but NJD wouldn’t retain cap. Lol. Apparently a Luongo to Toronto for 2nd rounders deal as well.
  20. This regime has all but removed my fear of college players. The Veseys won’t be on any of our draft lists. They do a great job of finding character guys and doing a great job of making the franchise desirable. Lockwood will be a good add to the farm system.
  21. Who is a UFA next season and could walk as well. Not trying to be a downer, but lets be real there are worse places to ride out your career than LA even if they are rebuilding. I would absolutely love keeping Toffoli and Pearson long term. They are great pieces to surround the Pettersson's and the Boeser's and the Hughes'. Hopefully Toffoli sticks around. I think he would have a lot to teach Podkolzin, just to bring up the main topic of the thread. Lol.
  22. I wouldn't call Myers "a 2 way dman". He has a good active stick but his defensive awareness isn't particularly great. He is a wider, taller Hughes.
  23. The Linden trade did do a lot of good for the franchise going forward. Still disgusting that it happened. I wasn’t around for the Messier era but even I loathe the guy. Lol.
  24. Feel like injuries robbed him of a more complete career. He played like 16 straight games to end the regular season for us, then had to play in the playoffs. He was a legit backup goalie. Hope he doesn’t have any long term pain. Great guy, good goalie.
