  1. They wouldn’t. Why take so much cap and give up a good top 4 d-man for just Jake?
  2. His health and the fact he has like 6-8 years on his contract is scary though. Have to admit. He is only getting older and there’s no telling if they’ll be good next year either. I admit he’s a beast but father time gets everyone, the often injured likely have it worse too.
  3. I see you on the Dumba point. There are some injury worries there. But his upside is still intriguing to me. Not like Boeser is the healthiest guy around himself to be fair.
  4. Montreal never should have traded him imo. That was a good fit and he genuinely loved the city. At least it seemed that way. I don't think he is as bad as people say, just not a fit on any of the teams he has played for post-Montreal.
  5. Yeah, I tend to agree. But my agreeing to move Jake is for different reasons than yours. Lol. If Jake is the main component to a Severson deal I'd be on board for it. Severson would easily replace Tanev's spot in the top 4 next season if need be and would be a big upgrade on Stecher right now for a potential playoff run. Just not sure NJ would take a shot at Virtanen being top 6. If they move Severson the main piece coming back likely needs to be more eye popping.
  6. Personally, I think we should worry about the offseason when the offseason comes. As of now this is a great looking deal. We needed help in the top 6 in a big way with the injuries to Leivo and Boeser. Without this trade our playoff hopes were all but gone.
  7. He's a good d-man getting asked to do too much for New Jersey, they likely expected or hoped he could replace Larsson. I think they were also hoping PK could take some of the pressure off but that hasn't seemed to happen. Very good contract for a guy that eats 22 minutes a game (last few games has played 27 minutes a game) and gives you 30-35 points with solid defensive play. Just turning 26 years old too so he could be on the team for many years to come. If Benning is not interested in moving more picks it'll be hard to acquire him and not trade Virtanen or Boeser or a top end prospect like Podkolzin or Hoglander. Would have to imagine Stecher and Virtanen going the other way as the base of your deal. I'd be hesitant to move Boeser for Severson, I'd rather use Boeser to get Dumba.
  8. I don't see anyone in the system being able to do the little things quite as well as Eriksson though. Simmonds might actually make himself noticeable in a positive way with his physicality. Keep Eriksson for the memes I say.
  9. I don't think they could afford to take nearly 6mil in cap even if that were real. Unless some of their currently injured guys are done for the season.
  10. Good on this guy for finding ways to stay in the NHL. Seems like he's been around forever but he's only got like 100 NHL games under his belt. Lol.
  11. And say Toffoli leaves. What happens then? Lol. Even with Toffoli I am not a fan of trading Boeser. He has character. He isn't the flashiest player by any means but he is a good if not great player when healthy. The adversity he is facing now will only make him even better. If y'all are deadset on giving up on him well we better get a top end right handed d-man. Someone like a Dumba or Parayko. Otherwise why bother? We have enough middling forwards and adding a 1st round pick does nothing for us for years. And lets be real, ownership is done trading 1st rounders in Minnesota.
  12. Not really, Myers seen him coming. And Myers was chuckin' knucks at Silverberg, I think it was him at least. So yeah. I'd say Myers got his ass handed to him, and rightfully so. If some 6'7 guy started throwing punches at Petey I am sure you'd be all over defending Roussel ragdolling some other guy and I doubt anyone would call it a "cheap shot". Myers got wrecked, and it's okay to take an L. I dig what he was going for. Lol.
  13. Team gives up too many shots too often. And from the games I watch they’re quite often grade A chances. Marky has been playing Vezina level hockey pretty much all season. Thankfully Toffoli is a good two way guy. Imagine the little things Eriksson brings with the actual talent of Boeser. He’ll help out in all 3 zones.
  14. Yeah, I said maybe not Woo. It'd be tough to let him go, but from what I seen of Manson he is pretty much what I am hoping Woo can be. So it's not a hard no on a Woo+ for Manson deal for me. Not sure they'd want to face him on our team though.
  15. I loved him the second he rag dolled Myers. He'd definitely be a nice add. But I would not want Pod, Hog and maybe Woo being involved in the deal.
  16. If we didn't sign Myers I'd be on board for this. But as it stands now we only have 3 reliable d-men in the dzone. And it's Tanev, Edler and Stecher. Losing one of them to acquire Barrie we'd be giving up more shots than we already do. And we already give up the 4th most shots against in the league. I guess if we get Tryamkin back it'd be okay. Deal would likely involve Tanev for Barrie though. Edler Stecher Hughes Myers Tryamkin Barrie That second pair scares me though. I don't trust any of those righties to play with Hughes. Tanev is a good defensive buffer for Hughes. Stecher is sound defensively but he shouldn't be the defensive anchor of a pair. I vote no on Barrie unless they take a Stecher package for him. That is very unlikely though. Stecher is a top 6 d-man that can fill in top 4 in emergencies, but not a top 4 staple.
  17. NMC this season. I think he is more likely to say no to them than they are to say no to him. Waiving for a team likely to miss the playoffs doesn't seem likely.
  18. Like I said, Martinez with some term only got two second rounders. Not sure the d-man market is as poppin' as people hope/think. They are being moved but not for over the moon level prices. Which is weird cause Coleman got essentially two 1st rounders. But Martinez with legitimate history was only worth two second rounders.
  19. Hindsight is a funny thing, I presume you were able to properly predict Juolevi having poor luck in the health department that derailed his development? If so you should get yourself a job in scouting. That's incredible.
  20. Best bet is looking through the Tryamkin thread. Posters are pretty good about digging up info like that and it gets posted there. And it's better than just my word. I could be wrong or remembering it wrong.
  21. I honestly think it's just a ploy to drum up interest on deadline day. Since most of the deals get done a week or two before then. Now they can add Stecher to their "trade board" and have something to talk about. Lol. And the draft pick hoarding crowd can be like "see, TSN says he's on the market. Now we can get a 2nd rounder, a 3rd and move Eriksson's contract with Stecher".
