  1. Leave Jake with Petey and Miller and stick Boeser with Horvat. Please coach.
  2. The real mental exercise is trying to figure out how the armchair GMs function. The amount of Boeser trade proposals is too damn high.
  3. Time to trade him for a 1st and 3rd rounder while his value is high.
  4. #WeAreAllDuane I am glad they let this guy go though, the fanbase needed a voice. Lol.
  5. 8 points in his last 10 games is tailing off? Exact same as Hughes over his last 10. Playing 20+ minutes over that span. Coming off a injury too. Not sure why people are downplaying Makar. Lol. They are both playing great, lets enjoy the race. This is like the Boeser and Barzal Calder race. Both are playing great hockey.
  6. I've watched Gardiner enough times to know he's not as terrible as you say, I am not saying he is good either. He's pretty much Myers, without the height and the stick length to makeup for those mental gaffs in the defensive zone. I won't stand in the way of your hate train. Gardiner's defense is not the hill I am willing to die on. Lol.
  7. Says every team looking at our defense. We’re tied for 5th worst in shots against per game. Our defense gives up a ton of shots. Edler and Tanev are our only reliable d-men in the D zone. Maybe throw in Stech. But we have 3 Gardiner’s of our own.
  8. Been driving the Marky is team MVP bandwagon for a while. Might take a drive down Vezina lane.
  9. For sure, it is a two man race. Hughes and Makar are both very exciting players. Hughes is a marvel to watch with the puck on his stick. Same with Makar. I can't recall a time two offensively minded d-men were head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the competition. I can't wait to see how this plays out. Despite giving Makar the edge in the race right now I am really, really hoping Hughes takes the gold in the end. This will be fun to watch.
  10. Feel free to post the numbers in their entirety instead of just straight point totals. Makar has 41 games played (42 after tonight) and Hughes has 51 games played. Makar has 11 goals, Hughes has 8. Goals generally hold more weight than assists. For Hughes to win this award, at this rate Makar would need to be injured again. Having 1 more point with 9 more games played isn't exactly working in Hughes favour. Love Hughes but Makar would need to fall off relatively significantly point wise to even this up. Or get injured, which I hope he doesn't. He's a lot of fun to watch. If Hughes can go on a really big run with points I could see him take the lead. It can be a good race. But for my money I'd have Makar 1 and Hughes 2. And I know people are gonna get up in their feels cause I am not 100% pro Canucks all the time in every single thing. But I just personally see Makar having the better rookie season so far. It's okay.
  11. Been singing this tune since October. Lol. It ain't happening at this point.
  12. I am not, not yet anyway. Don't let it happen to me VC, not me man.
  13. People called Jake a bust when he was being used with every trash bag bottom 6 player getting 10-12 minutes a game. Or they said he has no IQ so he has to learn. Not saying Boeser deserves the same treatment, just felt like pointing out people gave Jake a really hard time when he was being used the exact same way Green is using Boeser now. Green did it with Baer, did it with Jake, and now he's doing it with Boeser. Other than Baer's injuries derailing him so far it's been a good coaching tactic. I think it's whatever. He's going through a lot, this takes the pressure off of him to produce. Now people are waiting for Jake to fail so they can be mad about the pick again and waiting to be enraged about Eriksson's contract. More eyes on them takes the pressure off Boeser who was getting unfairly roasted by the fanbase for parts of the season. If anything I have liked his game playing on the 3rd line anyway. 1st line is cruising, 2nd line is cruising and the 3rd line is a legit threat. Depth my friends. It's a glorious thing when it works.
  14. That's a shame, ugly fall. Freak accident. I remember when I seen it I hoped it didn't F with his knee or anything. Joke may be in bad taste and just asking the hockey gods to slap me in the face, but any other year it's Tanev getting injured given how freakish this injury was. Seemed like he was always getting hit with some freakish injury.
  15. So how much of the fine are they paying and how much is the rest of the league paying for them? Also I didn't even know personal testing is wrong but never even thought to do it. Since the combine does that for the teams. Lol. Also I think the NBA allows draft eligibles to do personalized testing. Could be wrong there, never followed the NBA draft since it's kinda garbage outside the top 5-10.
  16. Happy for the big guy. I like him and Draisaitl quite a bit. Not a fan of the fact I am liking Oilers. Lol. But hard not to cheer for Kass.
  17. Why are so many people concerned with cap space? We'll be fine. Seriously. Look at capfriendly and see all the names coming off the book this summer and next summer. We won't be losing Petey or Quinn. Just relax a little. The season after their extensions kick in may have us a bit short handed in the depth department depending on their deals. But even after that season Lu's recap (3mil) is gone and so is Eriksson 6mil, and Roussel and Beagle's 3mil. The cap structure looks really solid. Only real downside was the Ferland gamble, which as of right now isn't looking too good with his health. The holes in this team can be filled with our really solid prospect depth. Pod, Hog will likely be on ELCs. Lind, Juolevi will be on bridge deals. Gadjovich as well depending on how he develops. I am not at all concerned and I highly doubt Aquaman wants to right a massive cheque to pay a guy to not play for us just to save some cap in the next 2 years. Lol.
  18. Maybe see Lind if we lose any top 6 guys. Motte and Beags are both 4th liners, makes sense to bring up some sand paper guys for them.
  19. Given Dumbass' affinity for one way scoring players not sure they see value in Tanev for Barrie. Which is why the only notable name floating around as trade bait for Toronto is Kapanen. Guy that actually plays well in all zones. Besides, I think the Barrie train sailed when we signed Myers. Myers isn't exactly a great defender, he has a long stick but otherwise isn't particularly good defensively. And it's known Barrie isn't good defensively. That means the only good defensive righty we'd have on the blue line is 5'9 Stecher. Considering the only good defensive lefty we have is Edler. That leaves our defense looking quite suspect in our own zone. If we add a d-man I think it'd have to be a two way guy. Or at least I'd prefer a more two way guy.
  20. It is indeed quite bold trading Jake twice. I know he’s playing good now but is his value THAT high?
  21. Yikers. Maybe if Doughty was 26. Even then I doubt either team would bite.
  22. Hopefully this isn't due to a substance abuse problem. Yeah we are laughing now but I don't know enough about him to laugh myself. Seen what drugs and alcohol can do to people. Lost my childhood best friend to alcohol. Seek help Belfour, before you seriously hurt yourself or someone else.
  23. I think we need to face facts. We aren't moving Eriksson until the final year of his deal at the earliest. And teams are smart now, they know how valuable cap space is. They won't do you a favour for anything less than a 1st rounder.
