[Transfer] Lias Andersson to HV71 of the SHL
JeremyCuddles replied to ForzaTikare's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Dahlin and Rasmus Andersson are very good players. As a matter of fact Andersson got a nice extension from Calgary. -
[Discussion] Mark Borowiecki
JeremyCuddles replied to Darkstar's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
The only trades this team should make is either to the top 6 forwards or the top 4 D. Depth players we have plenty of in the minors and on the team. And they are players we developed and they deserve the chance to at least show us if they can or can not play in the big leagues. We don't need to move middling picks for middling players when we have our own middling players that earned opportunities to showcase how far they've come and if they can take the next step. -
Pearson is a left winger anyway, and I'd argue is a bit of a passenger on Bo's line. He is a better Eriksson, does the little things very well. When you don't notice him he's at his best. I haven't watched a single game this season and thought, "dang, Pearson really is playing one hell of a game" it's always "dang, Pearson picked up a couple more points". Which is a testament to his skill, but I wouldn't put him above Kapanen and say he's "far more valuable". And Jake is a 3rd liner with some good top 6 moments, I love Jake and want to see him more. But to say he is far more valuable is a joke. At this point it's clear you just want to hate on all Leaf players with no real reason other than being an old man yelling at the Toronto Maple Leaf cloud in the sky. So I'll leave you to that existence. Good day sir.

(Discussion) Brenden Dillon
JeremyCuddles replied to kloubek's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Looking at our left side depth not sure I see it. And it seems like the coaching staff, and most around the league, generally like lefties on the left and righties on the right. At some point we need to get Juolevi in some games here, and with Tryamkin maybe coming back I just don't see a fit with Dillon on that left side. And I don't see them moving Hughes to the right side. -
The only players in our top 6 definitively better than Kapanen are Boeser, Miller, Petey and Horvat. I get you're anti Leafs but Kapanen is a much better Hansen. Doesn't quite have Hansen's grit but Hansen didn't have anywhere near the offensive talent of Kapanen. I'd take Kapanen for Tanev in a heartbeat. Kapanen Pearson and Horvat would be such an annoying line to play against in all 3 zones. Hell Kapanen could even play with Petey and open up the ice in a big way for him. Kapanen isn't a one way player, he is a dog and defensively responsible. Dude is legit.

[Rumour] Mikael Granlund Available
JeremyCuddles replied to aGENT's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Not sure what that has to do with scoring, but cool. Granlund would help them score was the point. But thanks for the Hall sucks comment. -
So we are supposed to freak out cause some random guy says he is worried about Brackett leaving? The Taj tweets are BS to rile up the community, hell I'd even say the initial tweet from Shah is too, and I heard him during some intermissions. Guy is a bit of a goof himself as far as I am concerned.

Who is Taj and why should I care about his Tweets?

Things that don't make sense about hockey.
JeremyCuddles replied to milk and honey's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Honestly, kudos to the ref that caught this in the Arizona game. Lol. One of the wackier rules I am surprised was even called. -
[Rumour] Mikael Granlund Available
JeremyCuddles replied to aGENT's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
He's a UFA, they'll retain to make a trade work. If he can play RW, which his less talented brother could, he'd be well worth looking into on the cheap. With that said Benning seems to be looking for more "long term" options in regards to a top 6 winger. Can't see us re-signing Granlund with our cap situation. Could see Arizona take another swing at a trade. They are still having trouble scoring even after acquiring Hall. -
(Discussion) Nils Lundkvist
JeremyCuddles replied to 48MPHSlapShot's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I get he is having a good year, but to throw our top prospect to them? I dunno man. I need to know more than just his SHL numbers. Dobber Prospects had some good things to say about him though. I'd consider Hoglander for him. But I like Pod too much to risk it. Maybe even dangle Demko. They have that Russian kid, Shestyorkin (spelling may be way off) but I dunno how much upside he really has. It's true though. We really do need a right hand D-man with top 4 upside (love Woo but right now all our eggs are in that basket), which was why I was so high on Soderstrom last year. -
Don’t really see any angst over the draft. But I mean, we do have two really good goalies, both are pretty young. Or at least Demko is. Marky is pushing 30 by expansion draft. Thing is we only need one starter anyway. Our goalie depth allows us to lose one and be okay going forward. And also means we don’t lose a forward or d-man. If they take a forward or d-man we have a really good goalie to trade to replace that hole. We’re fine any way you slice it.

Would you like to see Kesler in the Ring of Honour?
JeremyCuddles replied to iBlueGreen's topic in Canucks Talk
Bure was done dirty by management, so I would not have Kesler and Bure in the same boat here. With that said, I'd reserve ring on honour to players that wanted to be here even if/when things got bad. Bieksa, Burrows, etc. They were traded but they didn't ask for an out. So I personally don't think he deserves a spot there. I appreciate what he did when he was here. He was a major part of that 2011 team. -
On a side note, I think it's funny fans are starting to come around on Torts now that former players are saying the same s*** us Torts defenders said at the time of the incident. Even back then I loved what he did. He literally was willing to fight for his players. But fans got caught up in the stories about his past and never gave him a fair shake. On top of being in denial about the team needing to move on from 2011, which at that point the team had not. Torts was far from the problem with the the problem with that team and I wish we still had him. Yeah I said it.

[Discussion] Getting Domi
JeremyCuddles replied to deus.ex.makina's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Really? Leivo, a guy so badly concussed he isn't even in the NHL, and Fantenberg? It's trades like this that gives the proposal section a bad name. If you were Montreal would you accept that deal for Domi? Lol. If the answer is yes stop doing drugs. -
(Proposal) Nucks-Habs
JeremyCuddles replied to KnuckleHead16's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
If I could post the Bender meme where he laughs, asks if they are serious, then says "let me laugh harder", I would. -
I think it's fair to say most, or at least some, of us knew Olli had the talent. It was always a matter of getting, and staying, healthy. If not for injury woes I really do believe he could have played last season. Nice to see he is getting there though. Keep up the hard work Olli. We need our few D prospects to reach as close to their potential as possible. Lind is also a pleasant surprise, although I did not jump off ship after he and a few others struggled in their rookie year in the AHL. Lol. Lots of our good prospects were turned on by some in the fanbase cause of struggles that didn't effect our A prospects. Good to see patience is starting to pay off with their play.

This might be the most overrated thing in the history of things to worry about. I have never once heard any GM say it's important for Euros to "learn smaller ice". It's definitely not something players need an entire year to adjust to. If there is a GM/coach that said something along those lines I'll apologize and rescind my comment.

Congrats to them. Hope everything goes well with the pregnancy.

Biggest surprise by the break....besides Hughes
JeremyCuddles replied to danjr's topic in Canucks Talk
Hard to vote against Miller here. I knew he could be a 50-60 point guy but he is still blowing me away. Jake I always said could score 15-20 if given more opportunities. Sadly Marky’s numbers, despite his play, are roughly what they were in past seasons. Save percentage is a fair bit higher though. -
Mathieu Perreault comments on Virtanen (interviewed in a salt mine)
JeremyCuddles replied to -SN-'s topic in Canucks Talk
There's kind of frustrated and there's threatening to hit a guy across the head with your stick. I'd say he's a bit more than "kind of frustrated". Good on Jake for being lowkey about it though, but Perreault needs to shut the hell up. As people have mentioned the clown hit Hansen knee on knee, if anything the little croissant needs to catch a good ol suplex from Matheson, that'll straighten him out. -
The ozone starts comment sounds a bit dramatic, when you actually look at it he is getting 55% ozone starts. Which is like 1% more than Miller and Boeser. And 2% less than Petey and Gaudette. It's not like he is being sheltered. Lol. His dzone starts are likely due to the center he plays with Gaudette. He is quite poor in the faceoff dot and I'd argue is a worse defender than Jake but that's an argument for another time. Which means the line generally needs to be used in the ozone. And the corsi number also sounds a bit worse than it is. 48% isn't terrible possession numbers, obviously you want to be above 50% but when he is on the ice he isn't getting hemmed in his own zone super often. Bo Horvat has a 49% corsi. A whopping 1% more than Jake. Jake's normal linemates have a 44.8% (Gaudette) and a 42.7% (Roussel) corsi as a reference as well. (All stats pulled from Hockey reference) I am not saying Jake is perfect, but he is not a problem at the same time. And I don't attribute his scoring numbers to "accident". I wouldn't call him a 20 goal scorer but he CAN score 20. Just depends on who you play him with and how often you play him. Overall he is quite a good player and I trust JD Burke's opinion about as much as I trust my 2 year old niece's opinion.

[Waivers] David Backes, Luke Schenn
JeremyCuddles replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
At least he isn't on waivers I get the hype around Schenn, but I dunno. With the way coaches like to use d-men, right handed d-men on the right side left D on the left, I don't see us even playing Schenn. Tanev, Myers and Stecher don't hit nearly as much but are much more effective in literally every other part of the game. And if a right D injury does happen, knock on wood it doesn't, I want to see Rafferty.
