  1. Had a major turn around this season from the looks of it. Ian Clark magic incoming too. Time to sell high on Demko
  2. I haven't read a single thing about Livingstone being a bad skater, except from butt hurt Canucks fans. All the scouting reports I read never mention poor skating. I don't expect him to be a great skater either. Especially from the clips I seen he is great at attacking the zone, but the knock seems to be defending against the rush. I assume that can be coached if he has the speed, which he does. Great skaters are nice to have, but from what I am reading Livingstone also isn't afraid to play with an edge. It takes all kinds to make a great team. If his biggest downside is being an okay skater, I'd still want that guy given all the other tools he has. Guy is a 3rd pair at worst from what I am seeing with top 4 potential. Regardless, if he fails with Nashville he had no chance of succeeding here. And we have Hirose. A defensively sound player with great skating. I am excited to see him. I was just hoping we'd snag one of the top RHD college UFAs too.
  3. I dunno man, Nashville is pretty good at finding NHL quality d-men. I'll take their opinion of yours. No offence. But it's a possibility. I don't know sh*t about Livingstone. I am trusting in our scouting team. Still would have been nice to add Livingstone. No harm in signing him for free and him failing here. Especially given how desperate we are for top 4 RHD. We are down so bad people actually think it's a good idea to run Juulsen there. He is tied with Livingstone for points this season.
  4. I don't see us falling beyond the 10th pick. Yeah 12th is pretty close too. But even at 12 it's a possibility that Reinbacher is on the board. Not many updated lists, but Sportsnet's most recent list has him at 11. If he's gone at our pick, I say try trade down and try scoop a 2nd rounder. More lottery picks or magic beans whatever we call em nowadays. But yeah, I guess Nashville told him a prettier story than we did. But it sounds like our scouting staff seen something in him they didn't like. Cause lots of talk is we weren't even interested in Livingstone.
  5. I think management gave them permission cause they wanted to move him. But I never heard Boeser and his agent sought out permission. Again, I am not saying he's staying. I am just saying I don't think he wants out.
  6. I don't actually believe that. His reactions to his teammates after goals. You can tell he really likes the team. You'd think a guy that doesn't want to be here would be a bit more distant. But he's always so happy when teammates score, he's always chatty. I think he genuinely likes being here.
  7. With what money is he gonna buy any NHL sports team? He's rich, but not own a sports team rich. His net worth is 80 million dollars. He's gonna need to really get grinding on those Bubly sodas. Which I think is owned by Pepsi or some shizz.
  8. The emergency is I said he's likely on the way out, now he's gonna play his way onto the team to make me look stupid. Dammit Rathbone >:(
  9. I touch on this in the second half of the comment you quoted. I do believe he is on the way out.
  10. Boeser is and always has been a 60 point guy. That's the pace he is playing on this season. With minimal PP time comparatively to passed seasons. I also think he's played his best hockey away from the puck this season. Multiple times he comes up to loose pucks or puck battles and it led to us getting a goal. He has been a much improved net front presence. Petey and Miller get credit for goals and decently often I am looking at the play and guess who is in front of the net? Brock Boeser. All of this while still processing the loss of his father, which I hate mentioning cause it's personal. But still. The dude has not been bad. He is a consistent contributor and has improved his play away from the puck. He negotiated the best contract for himself. But it's not like he's LE out there not contributing. He's a 6mil player being paid 6.7mil. Hardly the worst contract on the team.
  11. I hope so, it's just really weird and awkward when they don't mention him but mention the RFA 3rd pair guy Ethan Bear. Boeser has been with us for years and we have him under contract. It's a lay up to mention his name. But they didn't. Which leads me to believe it's a matter of when he's traded, not if. But I am one of Boeser's bigger fans here. So I'd love for him to be here for many years.
  12. Dang, they really mentioned Ethan Bear over Brock Boeser. I am a First Nations man and it is nice to see him get some love. But it really does kind of just feel like constant middle fingers to Boeser. With that said, I think we all know the franchise wants to move on, so this doesn't really change much of anything. Other than making that point more apparent. Also, a notable absence is OEL's name. He has a NMC, so you'd think they would have mentioned him along with the other tier 2 players just to try sell him to the fanbase. I wonder if they are thinking about a move. I still think the buyout idea is moronic, and a trade seems really hard to do with the aforementioned NMC. Something must be afoot
  13. Good for him, I scooped up the tie dye hoodie. I was thinking jersey, but at 750 dollars that's a bit too rich for my blood. A 150 dollar hoodie is a bit expensive, but F it. I can take the 150 dollar hit on that. They look amazing and the thing they represent is even more amazing. I have a trans friend and some gay friends. It's criminal how they are treated. I know some folks get mad when politics creeps into sports. But this really isn't negative and it means the world to people that just want to feel like they aren't hated for existing. More love, less hate.
  14. Gonna have to steal this for every argument about Boeser's play.
  15. Literally the same thing we said late last year when we were winning under Boudreau. With that said, not sure how this conversation has anything to do with Juulsen's top 4 abilities. Sounds a lot like deflection now that you realized he likely isn't the top 4 RHD answer.
  16. Coaching bump is a bit overrated. We had one of the easiest schedules post Boudreau firing. It was actually a talking point before we got distracted by the winning. They left Boudreau in for the worst part of the schedule, we finish the year with games against Chicago, Anaheim, and San Jose. So it makes Tocchet look better. Not to mention he gets a healthy Demko while Boudreau had to contend with Martin and Delia. Buuuuut, whatever. If y'all want to pretend the 26 year old that has no points and has been a regular in the AHL is a top 4 quality D-man. By all means.
  17. We were a bottom 10 team all year with Schenner in the top 4. So even if you structure the D corp to have a guy like Schenn or Juulsen in the top 4 it's not really a recipe for winning. Hughes is talented enough to carry anyone on his pair. You and I could play on the top pair and Hughes would give us at least 5 assists on the year. Lol. Schenn prior to being with Hughes was a 7-10 point guy. He doubled that production with Hughes. But it didn't lead to us winning. Same premise with Juulsen, as of now. We could run it, would it help us win? Doubtful. But hey, like I said. If he develops into a true steady as she goes top 4. I'll be ecstatic. Hronek, OEL and Hughes in my opinion is a good top 4. I just don't feel Juulsen is a true top 4 that'd help us truly contend. Hughes can make it work cause he's just that talented. 26 years old. No points in 12 games. I still think he'd be best used as a 6/7, much like Schenn should have under ideal conditions.
  18. PK Subban said Jordan was better than him too. Juulsen has been a fine depth addition. I think he can be a trusted 6/7 on a good team. If he actually becomes top 4, I'll dance in the street.
  19. I hope that plan starts with Reinbacher. He won't be an option for years, but I think he greatly helps the prospect pool and gives us a future top 4 RHD. But it still sucks to see us miss on the freebie, more NHL ready RHD options. Reinbacher is anywhere from 2-4 years away from being able to really help us. Livingstone and Malinski should be knocking on the NHL door today, if not, next year.
  20. A team known for producing quality d-men signs Livingstone and a cup winning team adds Malinski. I hoped we'd get at least one of these chaps. Hirose sounds good on paper, just sucks that our RHD quality plummets after Hronek and Bear.
  21. Expensive 3C, that kind of blows at faceoffs. Career 40%, and hasn't been improving over time.
  22. Not gonna find many Livingstone's in the summer. I am not saying he's a sure thing. But finding freebies like that isn't easy. It's why it was kind of a big deal he was out there. Moving Myers won't be saving us a lot of short term cap. Starting to look like we'll be retaining heavily on it. Looking at UFAs, only really Mayfield intrigues me. Which I guess works, especially if we use our 1st rounder on Reinbacher. Trading for another top 4 RHD is a bit too expensive.
  23. Contract starts this year, so I wonder what he'll get next year. He is effectively an RFA right? I don't think we could have afforded that 2mil cap hit this season. Likely why the Canucks were never in on Livingstone. The college free agents we signed so far all start their ELCs next year I think. Oh well, we traded for one top 4 RHD. Guess we'll just have to hope that is enough. Lol.
  24. It's a business. We should trade em both if they're gonna cry about not being on each other's team.
